Kent, in the south east of England, has a whole host of attractive towns and beaches for
you to choose from. And, of course, plenty of holiday parks too. Just choose a park from the map
above (or the list below) and see which park takes your fancy.
All the facilities you'd expect from a family friendly town are
at your disposal in Broadstairs: ice-cream parlours, crazy golf, bowls, fishing - a little
bit of something for everyone. There are several small beaches for you to visit too.
is a sandy beach, about 150 metres long, and has a harbour, pier, pubs, cafes,
and amusements. Dogs aren't allowed on the beach at Viking Bay during the summer months. Another
choice you have is Stone Bay
; this sandy beach has chalk cliffs behind, and is about 200
metres long. A quieter beach, without much in the way of attractions. Dogs are also banned from Stone Bay
beach during the summer months.
Other small beaches, which are all about 150-200 metres long, are Louisa Bay
, Joss Bay
, Botany Bay
and Dumpton Gap
. If you've got a dog with you the beaches
at Dumpton Gap, Kingsgate Bay and Joss Bay maybe the ones for you as your pet is allowed on the beach here.
Bowls, pitch and putt, crazy golf, cinema, swimming pool... all the things you'd expect. Plus a handful
of beaches too. Margate Main Sands
is the harbour area, with a 200 metre long sandy beach and
promenade. There's cafes, restaurants, pubs, toilets and donkey rides; all the seaside delights can be
found in Margate. No dogs allowed on the beach during summer months.
is a sheltered 200 metre stretch of beach at margate. A designated waterski area, Palm Bay is
the place to come for your water based activities. Or try Walpole Bay
, this 400 metre beach area is also
a popular destination for watersports. Finally you've got Westbrook Bay
, a smaller beach, at 200 metress
in length. But a sandy beach, with promenade. Dogs aren't allowed on the beach during the day in the summer, but
you are OK for early morning and evening walks with your pet.
A heated indoor swimming pool, leisure centre, maritime museum, marina, amusement arcades, boating pond,
tennis, bowls, fishing, theatre and cinema are all to be found in Ramsgate. As for beaches, you've
got a choice of two entirely types of beach in Ramsgate. The Ramgate Main Sands
is about 250 metres long, and
a popular sandy beach. attractions include amusement arcades, donkey rides, childrens play area, cafes,
restaurants, pubs and shops. There is also an Edwardian lift to the beach. No dogs are allowed on the beach
during the summer months. Pegwell bay
, on the other hand, has unprotected cliffs, and is part of Kent's
nature reserve. Pegwell Bay is an interesting place to visit, but not a sandy family beach!
