Just coming to the end of a fabulous four nights in this lovely conversion. The welcome, comfort & luxury are like nowhere else we’ve ever stayed. To be able to come to such a beautiful house with our dogs is just brilliant. We will definitely be coming back here and now with the added bonus of The Bay Horse, a great local, with real ale and great food, the sooner the better S7010UCrachelf (February 2019)
The owners were lovely and very welcoming would highly recommend Mrs Miller (October 2018)
My partner had never visited Yorkshire before so I chose the general area and she found this beautiful barn conversion (give credit where it is due). Our requirements were as follows: I wanted a place we could use as a base and be able to visit the coast or one of the many local attractions. As my parents are elderly and my mum is blind in one eye, we wanted accommodation that would be on one level. We also wanted accommodation that was of a high enough standard that could compete with a 5 star hotel. This accommodation met all our requirements. The photographs do not give justice to the size of the rooms which are spacious and are furnished to a high degree. When entering the village of Ravensworth from the A66, take a right at the pub and drive past the row of houses on the right. Continue on the road and before you take the bend, go straight ahead and cross the cattle grid. Follow the path along and you will come across the barn. Angela and Jack (owners) could not be more accommodating and friendly. They were a great source of information, especially where to eat and the best places to visit. Thank you to Angela for telling us about Duncan's tearoom in Richmond. Would we re-book this accommodation - YES, without hesitation. jbgraham2016 (September 2018)
Would highly recommend the Stables at Larklands. Mr Yates (September 2018)
The barn conversion was luxurious . It was a perfect base for exploring the area. Mr Long (September 2018)
Been the best holiday ever .highly recommend. Miss Baker (August 2018)
It was so lovely to see such beautiful welcoming flowers and a bottle of prosecco which we happily toasted the start of our holiday to once we were settled in. We have holidayed in many lodges/cottages before every year and never had such amazing accommodation like the stables cottage. We were so relaxed with so many home comforts there we just loved it. The welcoming food gifts were such a nice touch...bread, homemade jam, biscuits etc. Ange came in and welcomed us as if we were one of her family and Jack chatted to my husband about the fishing. Such a lovely couple and nothing was too much for them. We just had to ask if we needed anything which we didn't as they had obviously thought of everything to make the holiday so special. Our teenage girls had a great time also and still had their wifi for their mobile phones etc. We took our puppy with us and I must admit I was a bit concerned about living on a working dairy farm with having such a young dog as I was worried about him barking at the roaming chickens and birds. He was great though and absolutely loved looking out the big windows at the passing wildlife as we all did. Our holiday was just the most relaxing holiday ever which we all needed as both my husband's and my mother were seriously ill at the start of the year and we all needed a bit of chill time after such a stressful year. This holiday certainly did that. We are even saving up now for next year as we are thinking about returning here or if not, looking to book another fabulous Sykes cottage holiday with the family and will have another new addition by then with another puppy. An outsatanding holiday and I wouldn't go with any other holiday company now knowing of the high standard of accommodation that we can get for the same value from Sykes Cottages. Thank you Sykes Cottages from all of us for such a a fantastic holiday and for making many happy memeories. We had just the best time. xx Mrs Tansey (July 2018)
Situated in the beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire, The Stables is an outstanding, luxurious barn conversion set within a working farm. The barn itself is out of this world, the attention to detail impeccable. From stunning open plan kitchen dining area to cosy living room, absolutely gorgeous, spacious bedrooms and amazing high end bathrooms. The look and feel of The Stables is perfect. All the furnishings are of excellent quality and design. The beautiful huge arched windows are just heavenly. Ample parking and a lovely outdoor seating area. An amazing location completes your stay, with lovely villages and countryside to explore. Not forgetting the animals to meet on your farm stay! What makes this holiday let even more spectacular (if that’s possible!) are the owners. Jack & Ang, nothing is too much trouble, they are the most friendly caring and loving people you could wish to meet. You really feel part of a family. I simply cannot fault my stay at Stables most definitely a slice of heaven on Earth. Ang & Farmer Jack deserve nothing less than 5stars. A delightful, relaxing and luxurious holiday. I will absolutely be returning later in the year. Thank you so very much for a perfect country break. stephbird77 (July 2018)

Highly recommended. Mr Riley (May 2017)
A beautiful place to stay. Arrived after a long journey to find a welcome pack of essentials and everything spotless and all you would need for a home from home holiday. It was warm and cosy and beautifully decorated . The owners Jack and Angela had thought of everything and my grandson talked about Lilly the goat all the way home. Perfect base to visit a lovely part of the country. Sarah W (June 2016)
Ange and Jack gave us a lovely warm welcome and a basket of goodies to start the week off in comfort - all the essentials - Wine, local beer, biscuits (milk and tea and more). The whole cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay and things we didn't realize we needed (like a first aid drawer, washing machine and liquid tabs, plenty of basic ingredients and dishwasher tablets as well which is always handy!). The farm was such a great setting for our toddler- feeding Lilly the Kid and the lambs with farmer Jack was the highlight of his week! The ducks, hens and cockerels roam freely which is great fun for the kids too. The beds, sofas and all the soft furnishings made the cottage so lovely and comfy - it was such a treat! The telephone signal, very good WiFi for somewhere so remote and the free-view TV all made the stay easy with young children. The location is great - super close to the A66 for easy access in and out and only a few miles from Richmond which is well equipped with petrol station, supermarket and plenty of shops and amenities. There is a local pub in the village which was a proper local - kid friendly and they even do take away food! We had such a lovely time we will be going back! Jim B (June 2016)
After 20 years of renting cottages, This is truly the most wonderful cottage we've ever stayed in. There is nothing Angela & Jack have not thought of to ensure a wonderful holiday, this cottage is a real luxury home from home. Set on a working farm it provides the space and freedom that city life cannot provide, but should you need to keep your tech in order then superfast wifi and a smart TVs are at hand. Angela & Jack are truly wonderful hosts making you feel like friends not guests, and a local pub within easy walking distance is the icing on the cake. lmoorhouse (June 2016)
