The holiday took some time to find as I had high expectations but so glad we found it as it was exactly what I wanted. The location was away from it all but wonderful walks were on the doorstep to spectacular views and boiling hot water every night for a relaxing bath. The Barn had every home comfort you could want for and more. Thank you for a great holiday. Ms Fitzgerald from Eastbourne (September 2016)
What a beautiful area, barn, taste in decor, and such a homely and comfortable place to retreat to! The lovely hosts (Angela and Peter) were so welcoming, helpful, interesting and friendly, without invading our privacy etc, they were around if you wanted to talk to them etc but not if you wanted to just get away from everyone! Would highly recommend ' the barn,' it's so peaceful, and pretty, you couldn't fail to relax there. If you like to read too, there are plenty of good reads, I wanted to lock myself in there until i'd read them all! With such a 'busy' husband though who bores easily, four days were plenty for him, I on the other hand wanted to move there! Mrs Roche from Neath (September 2016)
The most beautiful peaceful property. Will definitely be back. Mrs Bradley from Milton Keynes (March 2016)
The Barn was very spacious and comfortable. There were lots of interesting things in it which made it a great place for sitting, reading and relaxing. There were also fantastic views, great walking and mountain biking. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Mr Laney from Bristol (December 2015)
Liked the location, the accommodation, the hosts, the places to visit and the walks - the list could be endless. We would recommend The Barn to all. In fact we booked for next year within 24 hours of returning home! Mr Williams from Nottingham (September 2015)
The cottage was quite remote but very peaceful with fantastic scenery. The balcony was a lovely place to sit and catch the last of the sun. Mrs Newton from Salisbury (August 2015)
The Barn is a beautiful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. We have visited Wales regularly over the years and love finding a nice house to stay. This one is a keeper. Mr Stebbing from Bexhill-On-Sea (July 2015)
This was the perfect holiday for us! The tranquillity of the area was fantastic, the nature prolific, the walks stunning, and the property spacious enough to accommodate 3 generations of family. An added bonus was that the owners were very welcoming and helpful. Mrs Byers from Beckenham (June 2015)
The cottage was flawless. It provided the break that we needed and the fresh air to clear our heads - the perfect tranquil break. The location was stunning and the grounds around the cottage were incredible. Was fantastic to escape with my camera and capture some truly amazing views. The cottage was spacious and excellent value for money. Could not be happier with it and will definitely be returning, will just have to fight my friends and colleagues for the dates! Miss Cox from Caerphilly (February 2015)
Its so secluded, absolutely wonderful for getting away from it all. The barn itself is stunningly set out. The owners were friendly and warm and you really feel welcome. Will definitely visit again. Mr Fletcher from Ashton-Under-Lyne (October 2014)
The Barn is a peaceful retreat in glorious countryside. Wonderful for people who enjoy landscape, nature and walking. If you go up to the top of the hills the panoramic views are stunning. The accommodation is beautiful, light, spacious and comfortable with unspoilt views from every window. It is off the beaten track and so perfect if you want to get away from it all. A FlipKey verified reviewer (August 2014)
A fantastic property, as good as we have ever rented. A beautiful place and most welcoming hosts - would definitely consider staying again. Idyllic. Mr Lewis from Cowbridge (July 2014)
We had a great time at The Barn over the weekend. It was a little difficult to find as it's tucked away in the hills but I loved the secluded and beautiful location. The Barn was stunning, with a great open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room which led out on the patio overlooking the hills (and some sheep!) where we spent most of our time drinking and BBQ-ing. It was very peaceful and quiet, a real get away from the city. The bedrooms were spacious with 3 doubles and a bunk bed. There was a lot of land to explore and a tree house hidden in the woods was a real bonus and would be great for kids. There are lots of things to do around and we travelled to the Brecon Beacons (about 1.2 hours) for some gorge walking and clay pigeon shooting. Would recommend without hesitation for a lovely chilled out break - just wish we could have stayed longer! Mrs Blain from Nottingham (July 2014)
The property is in a safe location well away from public roads, ideal for our dogs to roam freely. Plenty of walks from the doorstep without the need to drive. Mr Holditch from Huntingdon (July 2014)
The Barn location, the owners, the accessibility of great walks and bike rides.....didn't really need to use the car! Mr Thrift from Saltash (June 2014)
We loved the peace and quiet to have complete rest and relaxation. The owners were very kind in allowing us to use the whole garden, garden room & outside space & our two dogs, which was stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Barn and would go as far as to say it's the best holiday we've ever had as the surroundings leant themselves to complete rest. The owners were very friendly & approachable and helpful with local knowledge and advice on walks/paths etc. Mrs North from Cambridge (June 2014)
Cwmberwyn is a peaceful haven in glorious countryside. There are fabulous views from every window. For us, to be off the beaten track in glorious natural surroundings was the perfect setting for a retreat. The Barn is beautiful and comfortable, an ideal place to relax with lots of space and room to spread out. Ms Hammond from Newbury (May 2014)
An absolutely beautiful home in a fantastic location. Perfect for us with our dog and child as all walks were straight from the garden and plenty to do around the garden also. We were really made to feel welcome by the owner. Miss Robinson from Frodsham (April 2014)
Perfect location with friendly and welcoming hosts (tea and cakes on arrival - lovely surprise!) Excellent selection of local maps, guidebooks and pamphlets provided. The cottage was warm, well equipped and very comfortable. We had a wonderful, relaxing week at The Barn. Mrs Mostyn from Bury (April 2014)
A secluded and very well planned barn conversion, bringing the outdoors in and providing a very welcoming, warm and relaxing holiday for all seasons. Very thoughtful hosts supplying plenty of reading matter and games for all the family both indoors and out. Walking boots a must as the surrounding area provides plenty of walks and views. Mrs Ellis from Barnstaple (October 2013)
We had a fantastic holiday in a most beautiful tranquil setting. The barn was fantastic and the proprietors were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely recommend this holiday, and we really hope to go back again. Mrs Strange from Chichester (August 2013)
The accommodation at the Barn is excellent. It is well fitted out and ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Their are plenty of walks directly from the property so there is no need to drive. As you are approximately one and a half miles from the nearest road it is perfectly safe for animals and small children. My only criticism is that the track down to the property is in urgent need of some TLC. Mr & Mrs H (August 2013)
Chosen because my wife would like to live in a barn, The Barn exceeded our expecations by a long way. Imaginatively converted and beautifully furnished the accommodation is well above par. The owners made sure that we were comforatable and offered help should we need it. I must mention the single track road that is access from the a481. Not for the faint hearted. Nor is the final track into the property that needs to be driven with care. That said, the effort is well worthwhile to enjoy a beautiful location. Sadly we visited before summer arrived in 2013 and we had more than our share of rainfall. However that did not stop us getting out and about and we even enjoyed a walk alongside the river Wye on Sunday afternoon in the rain! Every day it was a pleasure to return to the warmth and comfort of The Barn. Had we have been much younger and fitter we would have enjoyed the hill walking opportunities surrounding The Barn. All in all a good time was had by all. Next visit we hope to find the sunshine! Very happy to add our recommendation. A FlipKey verified reviewer (July 2013)
The property was fitted out to a very high standard. Mr Holditch from Huntingdon (June 2013)
The barn conversion was well designed, beautifully executed and in a lovely setting. The owners greeted us on arrival and took pains to ensure that everything was OK during our stay. We appreciated the efficient central heating as the weather during our stay was cool and wet. We have no hesitation in recommending this property. Mr Taylor from Bognor Regis (May 2013)
Spacious but warm, with lovely views. Ms Henderson from Norwich (December 2012)
