Everything about this holiday was outstanding, from the accommodation to the hosts. Brilliant! Mrs Rogers (April 2017)
A beautiful property in the most stunning rural location. Quiet, remote, and sophisticatedly decorated - a perfect setting for relaxing and unwinding. Sue and Dave are impeccable hosts, so welcoming. Highly recommend this accommodation. Mrs Steenkamp (April 2017)
The Barn at Glanoer, the perfect break. We arrived to a warm welcome form Sue and the dogs, shown around and received a lovely welcome hamper. The barn was bigger than I expected from the photo's, the views and countryside stunning. We had the hens visit regularly every morning for their breakfast crumbs, our thankyou for their delicious eggs. Sue and Dave were the perfect hosts and nothing was to much trouble. We had a week of relaxation, pottering around the surrounding areas and enjoying the wood burner in the evenings, couldnt have wanted more! We will definitely be returning. Mrs Eeley from Chester (November 2016)
Had a fantastic week at the barn, arrived to a warm welcome from Sue and the dogs, The welcome hamper had us off to the butchers first thing on Saturday, Sue's bread was delicious. The hens came regular as clockwork for their breakfast crumbs, our thankyou for their fresh delicious eggs. We came for a relaxing week and certainly got one, the barn was bigger than i expected and beautifully done out, the bed so comfy and the log burner was a lovely treat in the evenings. The views and surrounding countryside were beautiful and watching all the birds on the feeders was a treat. We pottered around the surrounding areas, during the day and relaxed in front of the log burner in the evenings, perfect! Sue and Dave couldnt have been nicer hosts, we will definitely be returning claireeee_12 (November 2016)
Had such a lovely time here, would definitely recommend to family and friends and will be back ourselves. Hosts were lovely. Enjoyed walking with the dogs and feeding the chickens. Mrs Allison from Wakefield (October 2016)
Sue and Dave Stone are perfect hosts. Great location and very comfortable accommodation. Met by them and the dogs. Greeted every morning by their chickens who gave us our first breakfast. Lots of wildlife in the area, including Red Kites, Buzzards, Otter, Woodpeckers etc. Good pub close by. This was our second visit and we may go back again. Well Recommended Mr Kenward from Hastings (October 2016)
Simply wonderful. Mrs Parker from Warrington (August 2016)
A wonderful week at Glanoer with our dog. Excellent barn , beautiful peaceful countryside location . Very friendly hosts. Highly recommended. Sdpwarrington (August 2016)
This is a wonderful barn, with wonderful hosts, in a wonderful location. We have stayed in many holiday cottages but this is by far the best. The owner's have made their holiday barn the perfect place to rest and unwind and oasis of calm! Mrs Smith from Letchworth Garden City (June 2016)
You must go to this property, it is absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived the owners made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage itself is decorated beautifully and the added touches like the welcome hamper full of goodies really made the stay extra special. The location of the property is perfect for a relaxing break away. We were very sad to leave! Miss Jones from Wrexham (June 2016)
A beautiful barn converted imaginatively into a wonderful retreat. Our hosts were exactly right in that they were helpful and welcoming without being intrusive. The Barn had absolutely everything we needed and more. We will definitely be coming again. Ms Cole from Nottingham (June 2016)
We have stayed here before. We have been staying in this type of accommodation for twenty plus years and it is unusual for us to go back to any holiday cottage unless we found it to be especially good. The Barn at Glanour is certainly one of the best all round packages we have experienced. We are quite likely to book again. Mr Watson from Aylesbury (May 2016)
It felt like we were staying in a boutique hotel. Mr Graham from Exeter (April 2016)
We were met on our arrival by the owner who went through everything that we needed to know during our stay. The property was absolutely stunning with everything supplied for us during our stay, the break was one of the most relaxing we have ever had. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts which made us feel more than welcome. We will be returning to this great place later on in the year. Mr Massey from Wrexham (April 2016)
The Barn at Glanoer is in a lovely, peaceful setting with a beautiful view from the impressive window which overlooks the garden and stream. Mrs Davies from Southsea (February 2016)
We booked this lovely barn conversion to celebrate my wife's special birthday, and from the moment we arrived we knew it was going to be perfect. Sue met us,and handed the keys over and showed us in,explaing how things worked,we felt very welcome After she left,we had a bit of a reccy, and found a super welcome hamper, the free range home produced eggs were delicious not to mention, bread, marmalade, butter, bacon and milk As the barn is in quite a remote location, self catering is the obvious choice, and we couldn't think of anything we needed during are whole stay,it really is that well knitted out. The bed was super comfy,I slept like a log. And then as if things couldn't get any better,on the big day,(birthday). Sue popped round with a homemade cake, complete with candle playing happy birthday tune. We thankyou Sue and Dave, for making our stay so memorable, hopefully we will return one day,but until then, take care and all the best. Colin,Sally & Alfie the cocker poo Humpty299 (February 2016)
We booked this barn for a new years break for my husband myself and our dog, a three night break to escape reality and that is exactly what we got! There was a lovely welcome hamper for us and even some dog treats! The owners really have thought of everything with this barn, a log burning stove (with the first basket of wood provided), a luxurious bath overlooking the amazing window so you can see the beautiful countryside as you relax, so many DVDs and books to choose from and a kitchen with everything you could think of needing. It is in the middle of nowhere with at least a 15 min drive to the nearest shop. We did enjoy a walk in the countryside even though the weather was awful the whole time we were there. We would love to return to enjoy more walks with the dog and make the most of the lovely outside space. JoannaM_84 (January 2016)
The Barn was an absolute dream to stay in, and the area was very central to Mid Wales for exploring. The owners were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them, they were very knowledgeable about the local area and were able to recommend some excellent places to visit. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who wishes to visit Wales. Miss Vinnecombe from Bristol (September 2015)
My boyfriend booked our stay as a birthday present and it was perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better present. The location is so peaceful and as we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome from Sue. When we went into the barn we were instantly impressed. The welcome hamper of flowers, eggs, butter, bread, marmalade and coffee was lovely - a really nice touch. We felt at home straight away and it was so quiet; perfect to relax! The kitchen facilities were brilliant to save money and cook your meals. The bedroom was fantastic, the bed was very comfortable for a good night sleep and the bath was an added luxury overlooking the fields. The surrounding wildlife is something we enjoyed along with Sue and Dave's friendly dogs! We explored the area including the Black Mountains, Élan Valley and Water Break Its Neck - all fantastic! After the day of exploring it was perfect to come back to the barn and unwind. We put the fire on one evening which was gorgeous. Sue and Dave do everything to make you welcome and have some great suggestions on places to visit. After mentioning that my boyfriend was starting a new job, when we left Sue and Dave gave him a card to say good luck. Really lovely couple and a really lovely place! Would love to go back. Charlotte H (September 2015)
We have recently returned from a weeks holiday at the barn and all we can say is WOW! We arrived to a very warm welcome and a lovely breakfast hamper in the cottage. The cottage is beautiful and has everything you need and more!! The design of the barn is amazing and certainly makes the most of the location. It has a cosy and homely feel and we instantly felt at home. Sue and Dave have everything down to perfection, they are friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. They have thought of everything to provide for their guests & definitely have a place to be proud of. The surroundings are so peaceful, its completely silent around and there's wildlife everywhere you turn. We had no sense of time for the whole week which was perfect. The location is very rural but this is exactly what we wanted. It's in a great location for exploring surrounding attractions, our favourite was the Élan Valley! I really can't fault a thing and I'm so glad we discovered this little gem as we will certainly visit again in future! Thank you again slj147 (September 2015)
We found The Barn at Glanoer to be absolutely perfect for us and our dog. Inside the first impression is welcoming, practical and comfortable but very attractive. The owners are really nice people and they have everything just right. The Barn is very private and not overlooked. We spent most of the week at The Barn. It was so pleasant and relaxing there that we found no incentive to go anywhere else. Mr Meeks from Wolverhampton (July 2015)
It was a perfect package and the facilities suited us very well. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, the location was exactly what we wanted. Mr Watson from Aylesbury (July 2015)
We arrived on Friday afternoon and were greeted by Sue and the dogs, a very warm welcome. Sue had left a welcome pack consisting of fresh eggs from her chickens, fresh baked bread, home made marmalade, tea, coffee and butter. the accommodation was just perfect. A lot of thought had gone into the design of the barn conversion. Dave and Sue have achieved a very high standard, you would be hard pressed (or very picky) to find fault. The setting is idealic and very peaceful. Abundant wildlife can be enjoyed including great spotted woodpeckers, Red Kites, Buzzards, and a host of garden birds. It is the perfect location to explore Mid Wales as once onto A roads there is so little traffic, it does not take long to get anywhere. A most relaxing week and this property is well recommended. Bob K (June 2015)
On arrival we were lost,a quick call to Sue,problem solved she drove out to our location and guided us in.Then the amazing accommodation was before our eyes.Just perfect in every way, lovely presentation of the Barn with a most welcoming hamper of home made bread, marmalde, butter, fresh coffee, eggs from their free range hens, with milk and bacon in the fridge. An absolutle perfect start to our break.During the next day or so we soon realised that Sue and Dave think of everything, the little touches were all there just everything you may need.Sue and Dave are perfect hosts always on hand to offer advice and information on the local area and anything else you may need,,but without ever imposing themselves upon you. Two of the lovliest people you could wish to meet.Everything in this property is of a very high standard much much better than 5 stars but that's all we can give for this review.Take our advice and book it we can guarantee you will not be dissapointed . We will be booking again soon.Big Thank you to Sue and Dave for a fantastic break Shay and Sean. Cherylyn M (May 2015)
What a wonderful relaxing escape. Sue and Dave have made The Barn at Glenoer so welcoming it's hard to leave; from the welcome hamper with homemade marmalade and eggs from the free range ladies to soaking in that roll top bath while experiencing the views through that window. Your every comfort is catered for. The area is perfect for exploring further afield too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend The Barn at Glenoer particularly for pet owners as our dog loved it too. daphne b (May 2015)
Absolutely fantastic, couldn't fault any aspect of the accommodation. 100% would recommend. Mr Steeds from Swansea (April 2015)
It was very relaxing in a superb location where our hosts had thought of everything we could possibly need. The location of the property was in a beautiful part of Wales with plenty of wildlife to be seen. An excellent place to spend a week away from all the usual humdrum of life in the City. Mr Wylde from Ellesmere Port (April 2015)
Not long home from our amazing weeks stay at Glanoer Barn in mid Wales, what a fantastic time we had at one with nature. We were welcomed by our lovely host Sue,and gorgeous dogs Poli and Kiti and shown the barn,it was everything we imagined and more, comfy sofas and lovely log burner, which we did use in the evening...A lovely and unexpected touch was the little welcome hamper left for us,with butter, fresh bread, eggs from the girls and home made marmalade, which was to die for.We ordered our first evenings meal from Sue and we must say it was delicious, very tasty salmon indeed, and dessert was outstanding...Nothing was too much trouble for both Dave and Sue, and we will certainly be back in the future, continue the good work guys... louise1962951 (April 2015)
The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. The hamper of bread, eggs etc was perfect and we loved the treats and toys left for our dog. We also asked for a meal to be provided on the evening of our arrival (as offered on the Glanoer website). This was excellent. Everything was done to make our stay as restful and comfortable as possible. It was no hardship to curl up on the comfy sofa while the rain lashed down outside and watch the numerous birds on the feeders outside our windows. Mrs Buckle from Bedford (March 2015)
Wow what a fantastic cottage. It is simply beautiful, in a stunning location and has absolutely everything you need. The owners were great and left us to relax while being on hand if we needed anything. Definitely would recommend staying at The Barn - it's a real find. Mrs Thompson from Woking (March 2015)
Wonderful place to stay, log burner, starry, moonlit nights, peace and quiet but with great hikes close by. Excellent hosts in Sue and Dave (Dai Cockney) very helpful but not intrusive in any way, lovely touches upon arrival (welcome hamper with eggs, bacon, bread, butter, tea, coffee, milk) and a lovely birthday cake for my wife, lovely comfortable bed with excellent views out into some very interesting countryside, loved having breakfast watching the amazing assortment of birds feeding at the feeders. Near to Builth & Llandrindod for larger food shopping if you need anything. Everything at hand in the cottage,wi-fi good,TV modern,iPod dock & player, but we loved switching everything off (apart from the log burner) and just sitting there enjoying the moon & stars, would highly recommend and congratulations Sue & dave on a smashing place xx TonyEvs19 (March 2015)
Hate writing this review because selfishly we don't want anyone else to book this hidden gem. However, we feel we owe it to Two lovely people Susan & Dave.(Your hosts at Glanoer) From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Susan showed us round the barn which is outstanding. There was even a complimentary welcome basket with fresh eggs laid by 'The Glanoer girls' ( the chickens), butter, a loaf of bread, milk in a jug in the fridge and a packet of bacon. Tha views from the windows which cover both levels of the barn are beautiful. Watching the birds feeding from the bird feeders strategically placed right in front of the barn whilst eating breakfast brings its own peace and calm much needed from our hectic lives back home. Although the barn has central heating for those colder evenings its much more fun to light the log burner which is easy to do even if you were never in boy scouts or girl guides. The bed is so comfortable we didn't want to get out of it. The wet room is far easier to use than a shower although for those who like to bathe, a cute roll top bath in the bedroom overlooking the hills is a treat. If you're a dog lover you'll love Poli & Kiti (Susan & Daves) wonderful pets. So lovable and will gladly tag along for a walk in the fields with you if you so wish. Susan and Dave were in the process of building a pond whilst we were there which we're sure will add to the overall feel of being at one with nature. There had also been concrete evidence of dog otters at Glanoer. For those who want get away from the stress of city life or just to use as a base for visiting the area, then we're sorry to say, Glanoer is simply 'Perfect'! Mark F (March 2015)
Great base for hiking the surrounding areas, a very relaxing place in a lovely location. The hosts were very helpful and not intrusive in any way. It was great to wake up every morning and look out from the (very comfortable) bed, to see the dawn breaking through the full length glass front, then to sit and watch the many different types of bird that came in to feed from the nut feeders. It was hard to drag ourselves away from this fascinating viewing. Then when we returned after our days hiking, it was great to relax in front of the log burner and watch the stars with a nice glass of wine. Everything we needed was at hand and the owners were great at supplying information about the local area. To sum up, a beautiful place to stay with really lovely people to give you any help or information you require. Mr Evans from Blackwood (February 2015)
Exceptionally well equipped with all of the highest standard - the bed was superb. The welcome was warm and the hosts attentive yet allowed us total privacy. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Mrs Shaw-Weston from Nottingham (February 2015)
The owners made us very welcome but gave us privacy too. The location is amazing and the bird life is encouraged to visit by regularly replenished bird feeders. The information booklet was also very practical and informative. We will definitely return to Glanoer. Mrs Baker from Maidstone (February 2015)
We loved everything! The beautiful window, the log burner, the bed and welcome hamper were particular highlights. A perfect holiday for peace and quiet. Mr Rogers from Cannock (January 2015)
We have just returned from a fantastic week away at The Barn. The location is perfect for relaxing and winding down. The view from the large window is amazing, it was beautiful to wake up to on a crisp winters morning. The decor is modern, fresh and spotless, you couldn't ask for anything more - only to stay a bit longer! Thank you for such a wonderful break away, we would have no hesitation in recommending! Miss Sheehy from Congleton (November 2014)
Our hosts were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect. The Barn was amazing and so tranquil, a definite must for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, you cannot help but be relaxed here. Mrs Wood from Redruth (October 2014)
Fantastic holiday cottage, so homely and comfortable. We had a warm welcome with a lovely hamper which had all the essentials to start your holiday. Hospitality from the owners was fantastic. They were there when needed and nothing was too much trouble. Plenty to do in the area if you wanted to head out and about. The Red Kite feeding was amazing but the cottage was perfect just to spend quiet time in relaxing and unwinding . We had a wonderful holiday, a real get away from it all week. Miss Durrant from Great Yarmouth (October 2014)
This property was the whole works with great owners and a great welcome. We had a perfect holiday and were totally relaxed by the peace and quiet. Mr Baker from West Drayton (July 2014)
The Barn is gorgeous and just right for two people, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay relaxing. The furnishings are comfortable and stylish and the welcome basket is a lovely touch. The view from the glass window is amazing, what a lovely way to wake up in the morning and have a bath in the evening with G&T in hand! There are many nice places to visit in this area and the local towns have some interesting individual shops. We were really lucky with the weather during our stay so spent most evenings just sitting on the patio, drink in hand, watching the show provided by the abundant bird life. We also really appreciated the company of the resident doggies and also the chickens (thanks for the eggs girls). We did venture out one night to the most fantastic restaurant, The Drawing Room which is well worth the expense for a very special meal. All in all we had a really restful, relaxing week which was just what we both needed. If you want to visit this part of the world then book this lovely Barn, you will not be disappointed. Mrs Causton from Sudbury (June 2014)
I absolutely loved this holiday cottage and the owners were helpful, hospitable and provided all that was required and more. The standard was very good but the little extras made it even better. The cottage itself was the result of a very well thought out use of space and furnished tastefully. I wish I had stayed longer. I would book this again. Miss Downer from Surbiton (May 2014)
Beautiful accommodation and surroundings as well as friendly helpful hosts. Mr Murfitt from Ely (May 2014)
A little piece of heaven! A beautiful place, peace and quiet and a wonderful warm welcome. I can't recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be returning. Mrs Silvester from Gloucester (May 2014)
Another gem from Sykes. The Barn had been thoughtfully converted with modern decor. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. A little isolated but this did not bother us, it was peaceful with great country views. It was an ideal place to RELAX! If you love the countryside this is the place for you. Mrs Blundell from Ellesmere Port (May 2014)
The Barn is an absolute gem. Beautifully decorated and with every need catered for the owners can be very proud of what they have created in a lovely part of Wales. From the warm welcome and the most generous welcome pack I have ever received in 15 years of holidaying at cottages to the extremely thoughtful dog welcome pack to the lovely fluffy towels and bathrobes this is a couple who know all about catering to their guests needs. The Barn has been architecturally modernised but retained a warm and rustic feel which gives it a unique and special charm. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage and know that the dogs and I will be back. Mrs Hermes from Glasgow (April 2014)
The accommodation has been skilfully converted to make it feel very spacious. Outside felt the same, with a large sheltered patio and a private garden area with a stream. This meant that if the weather forecast was not so promising, one felt happy just pottering around and watching the birds through the gable end of the barn which is all glass. If it was a clear night the stars were amazingly bright. A great all year round getaway location. Mrs Kerbel from Epsom (March 2014)
