The location of the property in the centre of town was ideal. We much appreciated the character of the house and the warm welcome received. We cannot recommend the property highly enough. Thank you. Mr Bell from Bury (December 2014)
We had a great stay, beautiful area, house was really well equipped, kids loved it! Mrs Flounders from Hinckley (August 2014)
The fantastic location for visiting Teesdale. The convenient access to excellent cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants of Middleton . The thoughtful and generous provision of towels, toiletries, coffee, tea etc was very much appreciated. And the superb view of Kirkcarrion from the kitchen table! Mr Pearson from Milton Keynes (June 2014)
Enjoyed another week at Sammy's House and we hope to go again. The property was spotlessly clean and welcoming. Ideal location near the centre of the village. Good parking right outside. Lots of places to visit in County Durham, Northumberland and the Lake District. Mr Hodson from Hull (May 2014)
A delightful cottage which we looked forward to revisiting. Everything was still superb in every respect, so we shall visit yet again. Middleton-in-Teesdale has managed to retain the nicest aspects of life from former times in an increasingly hectic world, so visiting always refreshes the jaded soul. Sammy's House reinforces this feeling of serenity - it's not really like a holiday cottage, more of a home from home because everything is just so comfortable. We always have a little giggle about the level of equipment here - I swear that if we needed a left-handed widget for extracting Boy Scouts from horses hooves, there'd be one someewhere in one of the multitude of drawers. Does tend to spoil us for other, less well equipped cottages though. Mr Weston from Doncaster (May 2014)
Liked everything! Great location, cottage in central position in the village with everything we needed within walking distance. Lovely surroundings and garden. Cottage was very clean, homely and very well equipped. Mr Perks from Telford (April 2014)
This property is so well equipped. The views are beautiful, and there are so many places to visit. Mrs Darani from Peterborough (October 2013)
The cottage made the holiday. It was spotless and very homely. Mrs Harrison from Doncaster (September 2013)
Sammy's House is by the far the best equipped house we have ever stayed in. Everything had been thought of. We were very warm and comfortable, and it was a lovely place to return to after a long day in frequent wet and cold weather! Mr Hartley from Southport (September 2013)
Sammy's House was really welcoming, spotlessly clean and well furnished. The beds were comfortable, there is a shower room on the ground floor and a bathroom upstairs near the bedrooms. It's in an ideal location near the centre of the village with a private parking space at the back and it offered great views of the surrounding countryside. There are plenty of shops, pubs and cafes in the village and it's easy to travel around the north east and the Lake District from there. We hope to go again. Mr Hodson from Hull (May 2013)
Sammy's House is a well equipped and comfortable home from home in an excellent location. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Mr Knibbs from Kettering (February 2013)
Perfect! Lovely! Right in town, yet views of the awesome countryside from every window. Owners friendly! Our hearts remain in Middleton in Teesdale! Mrs Mcneill (November 2012)
It was like from home to home, very comfortable house and a good location for many tourists attractions! Miss Martin from Bolton (July 2012)
We enjoyed everything including the helpful owner and the nice touches like ground coffee and biscuits. Mrs Bennett from Margate (May 2012)
Location and little welcoming touches like lots of towels and toilet paper! Very clean. Good heating. Good TV. Owner visited to check all was OK. Bristow from Loughborough (September 2011)
The owner was friendly without being intrusive as some owners can be. He has done a good job modernizing the house, the wet room in particular, whilst maintaining its character and original features. The house was an excellent base for cycling. The private parking with access to the rear of the property was an added bonus. Mr Belves from Crewe (September 2011)
The best Sykes accommodation we have ever had and Middleton is a very good spot for walkers. We don't usually return to the same place but we would this time. Mr Wren from Derby (August 2011)
Sammy's House was very nice, comfy and clean. We would stay there again and we liked the area. Mrs Brown from Ware (August 2011)
We had a very warm welcome after a three hour journey. Milk in the fridge, flowers on the table, and the heating on just in case. Everything you needed was there to get on and enjoy the holiday. Ms Thompson from Cottingham (May 2011)
Sammy's house was a real 'Home from Home'. It was a lovely place to stay with everything we needed and at a very high standard. The location was ideal to see a beautiful area and the amenities sufficient for a restful holiday. Mrs Grudzinski from Sutton Coldfield (April 2011)
Lovely, comfortable cottage in a great location for walks. Great to be based in such a lovely village. Comfortable for six people; everything was finished to a good standard. Mr & Mrs Andrews from Nottingham (March 2011)
The house was beautiful and the views fantastic. The owner was very helpful and came round to make sure everything was okay. We will definitely recommend the property to our friends and family. Mr Horton from Doncaster (October 2010)
Very peaceful and tranquil. Mr English from Cahir (September 2010)
