A great weekend had by all! Ruth M (December 2016)
I can't believe the last reviewers stayed in the same place! We were looking for someplace quiet and comfortable where we could write for the weekend and Lowfields turned out to be the perfect choice for us. It was in a stunning setting, with plenty of space and ample parking. The house itself was well appointed, comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean with lots of space so people could work or talk without getting in each other's way. The owners are nearby and very helpful and friendly. There is wonderful walking directly from the property and loads of things to see and do within easy reach. We thought the quiet location was one of its greatest assets - surely a short drive down a narrow road is a price worth paying for such a unique experience? We are already planning to go back! fredfan (November 2016)
Lowfield Farm is a beautiful house in a wonderful location, perfect for a large group like ours. It is comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Janine and Michael were great hosts, very welcoming, helpful and charming. The children loved the chickens and having a delightful garden to play in. We were able to walk from the house , down the valley to the village, perfect for all ages and abilities. Many thanks for a memorable weekend, we'd love to come back. Mrs Morgan from Northampton (October 2016)
The house is in a wonderful location and extremely well furnished and provisioned. The owners were on hand for advice and questions and were wonderfully welcoming and friendly, but not at all intrusive. There is plenty to do in the immediate vicinity; from sitting in the garden to walking in the beautiful countryside to visiting Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and plenty more. We had no difficulty in meeting the needs of a large party with ages ranging from 5 to 80! All in all a very comfortable, relaxed and wonderful weeks holiday. Mrs Rosenbach from Brighton (July 2016)
Lowfields Farm turned out to be a little slice of paradise in a very hectic time at work. I booked for our management team to stay two nights away from the stresses and strains of a challenging re-organisation - and this proved to be the perfect antidote. The flexibility of the accommodation was important and met our needs well, but the juxtaposition of the old world charm and modern facilities makes this place the perfect venue to kick back and relax. The situation is stunning - yes, the glorious weather helped - but the views from every angle are wonderful. Mr & Mrs Roe have done a great job in gently developing this site to retain that sense of peace and calm - yet every amenity you could wish for is on hand. They are a couple who care about your experience and are welcoming, helpful and very friendly. I'm already looking forward to a return trip! oldtravellingfriends (June 2016)
This was a lovely place to come and relax ! The log burner was really warm in the sitting room, the house had lovely views ! The house was very spacious and the kitchen was very modern along with a great conservatory! The hot water and showers were lovely especially after a long bike ride on the tissington bike trail !! Great walks and loads of space to play football outside ! You also have the pleasure of chickens walking around and the cows !! Lovely !! Ross G (May 2016)
Excellent farmhouse in a beautiful part of the World. The house had everything and more! There were 11 of us staying and we all commented on how fabulous both the rooms and the facilities were. Many thanks to our hosts, they couldn't do enough to help. Great holiday we will definitely be back! Mrs Jones from Winsford (April 2016)
Lowfields Farm is a beautiful rural cottage dating back to 1585. We felt that the cottage was really well equipped, the bedrooms spacious and comfortable, the living area really warm and comfy with a wood burning fire, and the dining area easily seated all of us so we were able to enjoy large meals together. Three communal bathrooms and one ensuite were enough for us all. The owners were really friendly and the location and surrounding countryside is stunning. We go away together once a year and have done for the last 15 years, we all felt that this was one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. Mr Mulvey from Sheffield (February 2016)
An excellent property, we had a lovely time. The property was spacious, clean and well equipped. The owners were very helpful. In a stunning location, the pictures do not do it justice. Would definitely recommend! Mr Dowdall from St Albans (February 2016)
Absolutely wonderful property. Beautiful surroundings, everything we asked for. Suitable for all types of bookings. I would 100% book again. Miss Maxwell from Salford (January 2016)
The friendly owners gave a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The house had accommodation for our large group so we enjoyed being able to spend time with our friends in one place. The beds, particularly our four poster, were very comfortable. A beautiful house in glorious scenery, it had a lovely cosy feel to it. Mrs Pressley from Worksop (December 2015)
The property was an ideal size for our needs. Immediate access to open countryside enabling us to walk from the house rather than having to drive somewhere was a real bonus. Mr Venables from Worcester (November 2015)
The Farm was lovely as we were able to accommodate all of my family. We were all together but there were enough rooms if you wanted a bit of time out. The farm catered for all ages with the beautiful scenery and grounds to play in along with the cosy warm farm house to have cosy nights in. All round a fab weekend. Mrs Howard from Sheffield (October 2015)
It was peaceful and quiet, with lovely views and good walks. There was plenty space for the kids to play, it had good sized rooms and the hosts are really helpful, they can't do enough for their guests. Mr Pattison from Stoke-On-Trent (June 2015)
An excellent large farmhouse. Mr Walker from Huddersfield (May 2015)
Large, farmhouse suitable for all ages. Modern kitchen, bathrooms, toilets etc. Highly recommended. Excellent views Jim J (May 2015)
The house and all the rooms were very spacious and the kitchen was a particularly highlight, being large, modern and well stocked. The hosts were very welcoming and always on hand to assist and explain where required. Mr Seaman from Sudbury (April 2015)
This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed at, the pictures don't do it justice. The whole (enormous) house was beautifully decorated with some interesting objects around that made the whole experience really fun. It is set in the most breathtaking countryside with lots of walks straight from the garden. Amazing. Mrs Wisbey from Nottingham (April 2015)
Had a weeks stay to celebrate various family birthdays, 14 of us in total including 6 children aged between 2 and 15. The house is beautifully isolated but the wifi provided is superb (this is a must for my part of the family!) Many bedrooms of varying numbers of beds, all lovingly decorated, 3 shower rooms (one downstairs) and 1 bathroom with bath. The house was spotless when we arrived and so many welcoming touches, such as flowers in the kitchen. Fab conservatory for the kids to play in as well as expansive fields. The owners very kindly provided some play equipment also which was gratefully received. There was plenty of space for all of us to relax without getting under each others feet. Personally speaking I loved my bedroom the most, downstairs in the corner of the house, beautiful furniture and so much space! The owners are amazing and have clearly worked hard to decorate and maintain such a large house, their thoughtfulness also goes a long way to making you feel very welcome. Overall I can speak for everyone in my family to say we had a fabulous time and wouldn't hesitate to return and to recommend it as an excellent place to stay. EmmaOngley (April 2015)
