Stunning cottage, we've had a great time. Very attentive owners - chocolates, heating and lights on on arrival made a big difference! My 3 year old cried when we left - that says a lot... Will definitely book again soon!
Mrs Preda from Aylesbury (January 2017)

A lovely warm and very well equipped cottage in a beautiful "away from it all" village. We all loved our stay and would definitely return. Many thanks to the owners Mr. & Mrs Ashton.

The initial contact with Sykes was brilliant using the online chat service and subsequent contact was also excellent.
Ms Reynolds from Plymouth (October 2016)

This was the second time we booked this cottage and it felt like home from home. Very pet friendly. Only down side - bed in downstairs bedroom wasn't very comfortable.
Mrs Mcdonald from Bromsgrove (October 2016)

Great place to unwind and take the dogs out good pub nearby for food and drink
Mr Mellor from Heywood (September 2016)

We had a power cut towards the end of our stay & had to contact the owner to activate the heating system. This was done quickly so no discomfort resulted.

A beautiful, cosy cottage in a fabulous location.
Miss Kirby from Hassocks (May 2016)

The location is excellent for those who want to avoid the usual tourist traps and enjoy the countryside; there were plenty of walks from the doorstep. The layout of the living area in the cottage is excellent to allow for preparing the meals without missing out on what the rest of the party is doing.
Mrs Fisher from Egremont Cumbria (April 2016)

Overall the cottage was excellent. It was warm and cosy and situated in a beautiful setting. The scenery in the surrounding area was breathtaking and there was plenty to do and see. We would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Our dog enjoyed his holiday as much as we did. We enjoyed it so much that we have already booked a return visit later this year. We would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

Glendower was very warm and cosy, but also spacious. The location was fabulous with spectacular views. I would like to visit again in the summer when the weather is better for walking in the countryside.
Mr West (December 2015)

A beautiful cottage in a superb location. The oak beams and chimneys in keeping with quaint cottage feel. Gorgeous views from windows. Friendly locals and lovely walks.
Mrs Payne from Maidstone (October 2015)

The cottage is in an ideal location and is very comfortable, this was our second visit and we will definitely try to go again.
Mrs Varro from Ashbourne (October 2015)

This is a fabulous roomy cottage in a great location with fantastic views of the Berwyn Hills. We loved staying here and so did our friends - the dog thought it was cool too. There are two pubs in the village which provide excellent ales and good pub grub. Located just outside Snowdonia National Park, it was in easy driving distance of all local areas of outstanding beauty. Would highly recommend this cottage.
Mrs Tennant from Neath (September 2015)

This property was amazing, it had everything and more that was needed to make a holiday happy. There were two lovely pubs in the village, both really good for food and there was easy access to National Trust, English Heritage and HHA sites. Can only recommend you try this house, you will not be disappointed.
Mrs Patch from Chilcompton (August 2015)

Had the most peaceful and enjoyable holiday. Everything was just perfect and our dogs loved it too. Would really like to go there again as the Cottage was just perfect for us and the area was great. Will be booking again as soon as we can. Very pleased with this Cottage.
Mrs Varro from Ashbourne (June 2015)

The cottage was well located, well equipped, well laid out and provided for our requirements very well. The area also provided a wide range of outdoor activities both on the doorstep and within comfortable driving distance.
Mr Parker from Barnsley (March 2015)

Glendower is a lovely property, we had a lovely week. The cottage has everything you need and is very cosy and warm.
Ms Fowler from Chorley (March 2015)

We made Christmas dinner on Boxing Day (we're Americans, what do we know?). We then spent three days without leaving the house because of weather, snow and ice, and we never got bored! The Christmas tree was a wonderful gift and the decorations were lovely. Of course, the box of chocolates won the prize with kids and grown-ups alike! It's a lovely house in a beautiful place. Thanks so much!
Ms Jallings from Portsmouth (December 2014)

The cottage was lovely and cosy and the location was wonderful. The views were fantastic.
Mr Workman from Chorley (December 2014)

The cottage had a very relaxed feel about it. Ideal location for some amazing walks right from the door step. Well laid out for a group of friends or a family. Beautiful wood-burner, lovely wooden floor, very comfy couch. Great pub very close by serving good food & cheap beer.
Mrs Dennett from Stockport (September 2014)

Unique cottage and wonderful scenery.
Mr Acock from Yateley (August 2014)

The cottage had everything we required, it was central for exploring Wales, and if you want to climb some hills there are plenty near the cottage. It was well worth the money we paid.
Mrs Nisbet from Ayr (July 2014)

Very clean, very expansive cottage perfect for the needs of the disabled. We lacked for nothing in the cottage, all needs were met. This was our second visit and will not be the last. We have spent many years holidaying in Scotland, Wales and England and Glendower is the finest we have ever stayed at.
Davies from Wakefield (April 2014)

Fantastic accommodation, gorgeous views. Superb place for a lovely relaxing walking holiday. Fantastic pub food at the New Inn. Will certainly stay at Glendower Cottage again, can't wait to go back.
Mr Watkins from Macclesfield (March 2014)

We stayed for new year, all of the party had a wonderful time. The owner made us very welcome with the house beautifully decorated for christmas and the chocolates were much appreciated. We found the pubs in the village were very good with the ability to have takaway at one if you wanted to stay in very useful. We ordered our food to be delivered from asda which was very good and arrived on time. We love the woodburner which was very atmospheric and reminded me of home. The owner came to check on us and made sure we had no problems which made us feel welcome, but we had no problems to report. The house was well equipped and the layout worked really well for 2 couples with two bathrooms. The dogs loved the wonderful walks even though the weather wasn't brillant they had a great time. The view from the cottage to the village and up the mountain was very scenic and I can't wait to come back in the summer to really appreciate it.
A FlipKey verified reviewer (March 2014)

Loved our stay in this beautiful rural cottage, We will be back very soon.
Mr Cockburn from Liverpool (January 2014)

The cottage was 'olde worldy', spacious but cosy. It was beautiful, warm and homely and so peaceful. The multi-fuel fire was fabulous. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. The local pub served excellent food, and the locals were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding scenery and beyond was stunning and there were plenty of walks and things to do locally. We would definitely go back. We really did not want to leave.
Ms Shirley from Warrington (December 2013)

The property was lovely inside, the location was great for the two local pubs which you could see from the lounge window. The owner left a message and chocolates on the table, he also checked on us to make sure we had no problem which was extremely nice. The views were amazing from the upstairs bedroom. We had many walks available from the door. I can't wait to go back again.
Mrs Clark from Ripley (December 2013)

The accommodation very good, and what you saw in the advert was what you got excellent. The area was very peaceful, and if you were looking for a walking/restful holiday look no more. Owner very friendly and the information given was excellent. We found it felt like home from home, had a wonderful time, and will certainly return for another visit.
Mrs Frisby from Loughborough (September 2013)

The cottage, location and the locals were excellent. We had a fabulous week, and would not hesitate in returning and recommending to family and friends!
Mrs Harwood from Northampton (August 2013)

The area was peaceful and the cottage was always a delight to return to from a day exploring. Such a friendly place.
Mrs Bull from Southampton (March 2013)

Close to pubs an ideal location for exploring this part of North Wales. Great local walks if you have dogs. Cannot fault the place.
Customer 37

Pictures do not do it justice - the lounge/dining room like a baronial hall with ceiling to the top of the house! Warm and cosy and the log fire just a dream. Took morning coffees every day in the bright and cosy conservatory. Nice welcome pack provided (thank you Mr & Mrs Ashton). Kitchen well equipped (even had a knife sharpener which often isn't provided anywhere) but kettle took forever to boil! Only downside was the shower in the bathroom ran cool before I could rinse off my shampoo. Brrr. All in all, a lovely break and we will be returning :).
Customer 38

Surrounded by mountains in the tanat valley you can’t do anything but relax. The cottage is comfortable and warm but full of character and at one with it’s surroundings. This has been our sixth time here and certainly won’t be our last. Mr and Mrs Ashton who own the holiday cottage are a kind and welcoming couple who go a long way to making a stay here more comfortable. Thank you for that. See you again next year. Ed Disbury
Customer 39

As we had travelled for 5 hours, this was a very nice gesture. A lovely area to explore and the hub of the village is the pub 'The New Inn'. A lovely relaxing break in a lovely area. Would recommend this cottage to anyone.
Customer 40

..Mr and Mrs Ashton made the cottage very cosy and welcoming for our arrival , even left out tea and coffee for us and the home made Tea cake was delicious ..the chocolates was lovely touch ...they forgot to leave milk but that evening after returning to the cottage after our evening meal at the local pub we found a bottle of milk waiting on the door step ...Mr and Mrs Ashton are very attentive to the needs of the guest we found everything we needed ...will definitely book this cottage again
Customer 41

Been with Sykes for several holidays now, and always happy with the property.
Customer 42

The location was great, quiet and relaxing but perfectly placed for exploring. The owners were really thoughtful and made our stay even more special.
Customer 43

..very well equipped with lovely furniture and nice comfortable beds.it was a pleasure to stay in.The scenery was lovely with 2 friendly pubs just a stone's throw away.nice and central for beautiful places to visit as well.would definitely recommend it.
Customer 44

What a beautiful cottage in a stunning location.. The New Inn will quickly become your goto for a beer or 2 and the food is "OK".. The cottage however is the gem.. We enjoyed the wood burner each evening as we relaxed after a day's hiking.. Bronze age ditch Fort within 40 mins walk and some scenery that will blow your mind. The owners were helpful and surprised when I rang for an axe to cut down some kindling, however we went for a walk and arrived "home" to a very sharp axe.! Loved our time there, the cottage was perfect.. The only slight negative was no shop in the village so stock up on what you need before you arrive as we had to make a 30 min journey after a 3 and a half hour journey to stock up but in the grand scheme of things my girl and I would visit Glendower again in a heart beat. A true gem..
Customer 45

Beautiful countryside, good for walking and verry friendly people. It is is verry likely that we will be back some .day
Customer 46

Cottage was stunning & made for a lovely holiday.
Customer 47

Great for dog walking so peaceful and quiet. Would highly recommend this cottage we had a great time and will be booking again. Owners are lovely and are always willing to help.
Customer 48

It’s location is excellent for relaxation and central for trips out. It’s like a little step back in time where you can escape the pressures of everyday life and relax and escape for the whole time you’re there. We love the place and appreciate Mr & Mrs Ashton’s hospitality in providing a lovely holiday place. Ed Disbury
Customer 49

! Everything was superbly presented and pristine, lovely high quality towels for every guest. This cottage has a great heating system as we were there at the end of November but the whole cottage was comfortable and warm, a real delight to come back to after a brisk walk in the wonderful surrounding countryside. The hosts were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We will be returning next year. NB The local pub was very welcoming, they had a well priced varied menu for the whole family.
