Loved the place thanks to all Mr Thornton (July 2018)
It is a beautiful cottage, quiet and secluded in an absolutely gorgeous village. Well equipped, clean with everything you need for a fab holiday. The garden is great and is brilliant and safe for your dog. Very well thought out cottage - perfect. The village pub is under new management and the couple running it are lovely people and made us feel very welcome - definitely worth a visit for lovely home cooked, fresh food. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday - in a beautiful area with plenty of walks and things to do near by this is the place to be. 10 out of 10 all round. Mrs Cansdale (June 2018)

Excellent location, garden beautiful, bed and shower luxurious and lots of thoughtful touches such as cake and dog treats on arrival. Mrs Kane (April 2018)
The garden was enclosed and excellent for pets. We would highly recommend this cottage. Mervyn & Jane. Norfolk. Mrs Whitehead (March 2018)
Everything about the cottage was perfect. We unfortunately had to leave early because of the "Beast from the East" weather and only made it home by the skin of our teeth. Will certainly book this again when things improve regarding weather. Mr Glover (February 2018)
Location excellent for visiting both the dales, the moors and the lake District. Mrs Evans (November 2017)
Well equipped and very nice décor. Will definitely be booking again. Ms Leigh (November 2017)
Peaceful, relaxing and extremely comfortable. Very Dog friendly :) This was our second visit and we would return. Mr Milson (October 2017)
It was clean, well equipped and extremely comfortable. We took our two dogs and it was wonderful to have the garden in which we could let them run. The owners were very friendly and left a lovely cake in the kitchen on our arrival. Even the size of our big dog didn’t phase them! We love the area and found a lovely pub that accepted dogs in a nearby village. The pub in the village did take outs but hadn’t been persuaded to allow dogs yet. Ovington is a beautiful, quiet village with Barnard Castle about a 15 Minute drive away. We found it was an excellent base for us. We loved the cottage and have booked to go again. Mr Tomas (July 2017)
Nice surprise to find tea, coffee, milk and even a lovely cake left for us. Mr Baker (April 2017)
I would definitely book it again Mr Chamberlain (March 2017)
!! The little unexpected treats, the comfort and the location. Really sad to leave. Counting down the days 'till we will be back. Mrs Mackley (February 2017)
Dogs allowed everywhere in the cottage too. Very comfortable and well appointed. Mrs Birkhead (January 2017)
Very dog friendly. Perfect setting. A very cozy and welcoming cottage. Perfect. Customer 18
I have booked with Sykes for years and have always been pleased with the places we have booked. This cottage though was outstanding, especially for the dogs as it had a good sized garden that was completely enclosed, which makes such a difference when your on holiday with your pets. The cottage itself was spacious for two, really well presented and the bed was super comfortable. Cake, milk and biscuits for the dogs were there to welcome us when we arrived. Loved that there were dog blankets to put on the sofa' on a night. Everything really thought out to make your stay comfortab. Our dogs do not go upstairs but I believe they were allowed if your dogs do that, as blankets were also upstairs. The area was lovely and a part of the country we have not explored before and the village of Ovington was picturesque. Loved our week there and so will you if you go. Customer 19
Everything is designed to make the visit a great experience. We would love to stay again. Customer 20
Beautifully and comfortably furnished and very well equipped. We chose to eat in every night and the facilities made this an easy task. Having said that we were tempted by the local pub which has very good reviews. The bedroom is large and comfortable and the view from the bath is something else! Was lovely to close the blinds, light the log burner and cosy down for the night after a day exploring. The enclosed garden was also perfect for our two chocolate Labradors. The owner is thoughtful and very kind and all efforts were made to ensure we had a lovely holiday. 10 out of 10 we will definitely return. Customer 21
... everything was as described and more. The added touches were well thought out with gifts from Santa for us both and the dog! There were Christmas stockings on the bed and and even fizz, chocolates and Christmas cake and mince pies. The village is pretty with a friendly pub.... perfect! Customer 22
Only one negative was creaking floorboards upstairs which disturbed partner when moving about. Customer 23
