Thrilled with my stay at Byrdir Cottage. Despite being a very last minute get away, it took less than 10 minutes on Sykes to find the perfect property and make arrangements. 36 hours later I pulled up to Byrdir and could not be happier with what I discovered. A quiet and private location with stunning views and very comfortable accommodations. The cottage comes with everything you need to feel at home, and is in a superb area to explore the beauty of Wales. Waking up to resident red kites was a ... Mrs Collison (November 2017)
We travelled as two families consisting of 4 adults and 4 children with Buddy the dog. The cottage is spacious, warm and in the most picturesque of locations - away from it all! The owners are friendly and helpful and keep the place beautifully, providing lots of added extras to make your stay enjoyable. The games room is huge and a real bonus for cosy nights in as a group. I would gladly stay at the cottage again and was sad to leave to go home. RosebankA10 (October 2017)
Everything was absolutely superb with one exception, the bathroom is in need of updating. However, this was a small price to pay for an otherwise delightful cottage and wonderful holiday. Mrs Horne (October 2017)
I like searching for cottages with Sykes - the 'search' options make it really simple! Bydir cottage is our favorite cottage yet! The photo's on the website sold it to us, but the cottage is even better when you arrive! We were in the middle of nowhere in beautiful countryside and yet only 15 minutes away from shops. The cottage was lovely, very well equipped and a real home from home. The games room was a fantastic bonus! We would love to return! Thank you! Mr Spears (April 2017)
We had stayed here before last year, and liked it so much that we returned Ms Freeman from Cardiff (January 2017)
Excellent cottage and helpful owners who went out of their way for us. Will definitely recommend. Mr Henry from Oldham (December 2016)
We stayed over October half term with friends, four adults, four children. First impressions on arrival were excellent. Beautiful tucked away location, very clean , tidy and welcoming. The fantastic homemade cake was amazing! The huge separate games room was a real bonus and spent many hours in here with the kids. the property is spacious and it never feels like you are on top of each other. The only downside is having the one bathroom as it makes for slow progress getting out in the morning! The extra cost of £5.00 for towels per person seemed an unnecessary extra expense especially given the fact they are waiving this from 2017! No wifi or 4g/3g but that was good as the kids couldn't use their gadgets! Surrounding area truly lovely, well worth visiting the Elan valley, great pub, the Triangle in town. richard g (November 2016)
It was a beautiful property in a great location. - quiet and with the opportunity to relax. Brilliant games room! AND the property was lovely and warm - ideal for my parents who are in their eighties. Mrs Hughes from Aberdare (October 2016)
We have said no to re bookin this cottage only because we like to try different locations each time Mr Jacobs from Newton Abbot (August 2016)
Perfect relaxing environment in a secluded and private spot, with plenty of space for a family. The games room was excellent, with a good choice of games and things to do. The table tennis table was our favourite. The outside space was absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed relaxing around the large table and chairs on the large patio. The owners have thought of everything. It felt like a home from home immediately. Thank you for a memorable holiday. Everyone enjoyed it tremendously! Mrs Marsh from Stoke-On-Trent (July 2016)
A really homely place, a lot of thought has gone into making it welcoming. There were comfortable places to sit and look out onto the fields, or watch TV. The games room is great, perfect if it rains or for an evening in. It is a really warm property with lots of hot water and three wood burning stoves. It is a great base for walks, cycling or driving around the beautiful countryside. Loved our stay there. Mrs Larkworthy from St. Albans (July 2016)
This was our third visit to the cottage and we still enjoyed the holiday as much as ever. The games room and the large garden is a bonus for a family because it enables everyone to have their own space when they need it. Mr Amos from Blackburn (June 2016)
Truly outstanding, well equipped cottage in idyllic countryside. We are determined to go back next year! Mrs Gemmell from Huntingdon (May 2016)
We loved the location of cottage and the wonderful views. Had great gardens for the dogs and the games room was a hit with all the family. We will recommend to friends and we will return in the near future, the cottage was lovely and warm. Mrs Hawkins from Coventry (April 2015)
The cottage was perfect for two families with four small children and the games room was perfect for the rainy days. Mr Kinsley from Bradford (February 2015)
Fabulous welcome with cake and drinks on arrival. The Cottage is the best equipped we have ever been to. There is a lovely secure garden for dogs and the surrounding area is so peaceful and relaxing. Just sheep and birds to listen to, lovely! Not too far from anywhere really and everyone very friendly. Will definitely consider going again and recommend to friends. FABULOUS !!!!!! Mrs Schofield from Bristol (August 2014)
Fabulous welcome with cake and drinks on arrival. Cottage best equipped we have ever been to, even managed to bake a cake. Games room a big hit with everyone, great array of games. Hot water available all the time, all facilities brilliant. Log burners lovely, although only used once as we had gorgeous weather so not really needed. Will definitely consider going again. Brilliant! !!!!! clareschoey (August 2014)
It was such an idyllic, secluded location with beautiful views. We loved watching the red kites flying overhead, and the bats in the garden at twilight. A lovely house, we would definitely come back. Mrs Stewart from Southampton (July 2014)
We confirmed this cottage for our group who were based at the Royal Welsh for the week. The location was within 15 minutes of the Show ground which was ideal for the daily commute. The owner went out of her way to welcome all who were staying at the cottage. A great welcome and a great service throughout their stay. Many thanks. Miss Davies from Cardiff (July 2014)
We had a great time chilling out and relaxing, as well as exploring the surrounding area. The games room was fantastic, loved the garden and being able to walk in the surrounding fields. The water tasted lovely! We enjoyed cosy evenings in front of the wood burner, the location was away from it all but accessible. Would certainly be happy to return anytime. Ms Tandy from Bideford (February 2014)
Perfect getaway, the cottage was cosy and everything we expected. Would go again, and recommend. Great base for loads of walks and close to the beaches. Mrs Holtby from Lincoln (October 2013)
It was in an idyllic setting, and the cottage was up a farm track away from it all! Perfect for a proper family holiday. The games room was a hot favourite with everyone. Mrs Smith from Mold (August 2013)
The cottage is based in an ideal location and has a very desirable ambience. It has a homely décor in keeping with the age and location, the kitchen was small, but well stocked. There is even a games room which was a real bonus, with pool, table tennis and dvd's provided. Ms Foreman from Chatham (May 2013)
A wonderful cottage with excellent facilities. The little touches made our stay special. Ms Allen from Bromsgrove (February 2013)
Loved the setting, the house itself and the games room. Very well furnished, with enough space for us all to not feel cramped. Brilliant holiday retreat and everyone that joined us has asked that we visit again in the future. Mrs Bayliss from Northampton (September 2012)
The quiet and tranquil setting of the cottage. Lots of room for parking and for the children to play. The games room was fantastic - not only for the children. Mr Bell from Billingham (July 2012)
The situation was lovely, the facilities excellent, and the owners were very helpful. Mrs Gaten from Leicester (April 2012)
Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. Cottage provided all we needed for a lovely visit and the extra homely touches were very much appreciated. Games room was a major bonus for extra space and entertainment. Mrs Craggs from Stockton-On-Tees (July 2011)
An excellent cottage in a quiet and scenic location. The cottage is well placed to access many places in central Wales. I would highly recommend this cottage to any party of 6-8 people who want to holiday in mid-Wales. Mr Dickins from Chelmsford (May 2011)
