This cottage was everything i could have asked for. Clean and tidy, very well decorated. Loved the open fire in the snug, maybe nice to have small tele down there to take full advantage of the fire. Bedroom big and spacious and as for the bed, so comfortable. The stream at the back was so relaxing and lovely to sit by. Garden/patio again very well done and pretty. Found some lovely beaches nearby, full sand and lots of dunes to shelter from the wind, we had fab weather which made it even more ... alisonsS8760TL (March 2019)
Would highly recommend it. Area is beautiful and so much to do in and around surrounding areas/towns. Had a fantastic time thank you Mrs Holloway (October 2018)
Beautiful cosy cottage by the river. It was so peaceful sitting outside by the river for breakfast listing to the birds and river. The cottage is decorated lovely and the bed is really comfortable. We spent a lot of time in the snug with the log fire on.Its perfectly situated to visit other areas by train or go on some lovely walks. The village itself has a pub with really good food serving both lunch and evening meals and a little shop selling bread milk etc just next door. The yarn bombing is good fun and it takes you on a little tour of the village. We will definitely stay again. KellyAnn P (October 2018)
Lovely little cottage which was perfect for all our needs, and situated in an ideal location for exploring the Cambrian coast line as there is a train halt stop 5 minutes walk away. debbielbutler (September 2018)
we enjoyed our weeks stay and would book again. Mrs Hewitt (September 2018)
Great little house with a lovely terrace on the river. Unfortunately the local pub is in the middle of changing hands so drive is necessary if you want to eat out for the time being. Good base for Aberystwyth, Harlech, Portmerion and Snowden. Not a beach for relaxing on as very stoney but great sunsets when the weather is good and only 10 mins walk down a track. Fiona L (August 2018)
Unfortunately it is not kept up to standard. The cottage was not clean when we arrived. We spent several hours wiping all the surfaces and tables (thick layer of dust), trying to vacuum the hairs of the rug (impossible with the very weak hoover provided) and taking all the cobwebs of the walls. In theory all the facilities are there, but the quality is substandard. The bath is full of long human black hairs. I can’t understand why the owner charges cleaning fee and makes us clean the property before we start enjoying the holiday. It feels as Sykes just advertises any property without inspection and it doesn’t seem professional to me. Mr Butin (July 2018)
The information booklet is out of date as the pub in the village is closed permanently and up for sale. Miss Little (July 2018)
I had to clean all surfaces, all tables before I could unpack. The bathroom had not been cleaned also the kitchen needed wiping over. The dining room floor had bacon rinds under the table, the red carpet in the lounge was covered with crumbs and bits, the floor had been swept but the mess had just been left in the corner by the front door. It took me one hour to clean before we could use the cottage. I was very disappointed it was not the usual high standard you get from Sykes cottages. Mrs Botwood (July 2018)
Fantastic cottage in a very peaceful location. Realy enjoyed our stay, relaxing by the river and also exploring the local area. Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Linda F (June 2018)
We really enjoyed this holiday in a very comfy cottage. We particularly enjoyed the patio overlooking the stream and made the acquaintance of many feathered friends. We visited Dolgellau,Machynlleth market,Tywyn and Aberdyfi and the occasional visit to the Garthandgarad public housefor good beer and food. Give it a go,it is well worth it. Mind your head when entering the kitchen,...mine is nearly healed now! deefbee (June 2018)
The first thing to say is that this is one of our very favourite rentals. A beautiful, well fitted, cottage for two in a pleasant, quirky village. One warning, however, the two internal staircases are steep, those with mobility problems should be aware. On entering the front door you are into a good size sittingroom with two leather settees and a TV with DVD. (There are a selection of DVDs available). The bathroom is off this room. Again well fitted and modern. A small, really small, bath with an efficient electric shower above. Stairs up from the living room lead to the bedroom which features a comfortable king-size bed. There is adequate storage in the wardrobe and two bedside cabinets. Leading down from the living room are the stone steps to the dining room and kitchen. The dining room also has a leather settee and wooden table with four chairs. Although the whole house is served by an efficient heating system there is a wood-burning stove in the dining room. We were blessed with great weather during our stay and so I cannot comment on its efficiency! The kitchen, though compact, is equipped with all that the visitor might require. A full-sized cooker, microwave and refrigerator as well as toaster and kettle and all the pots, pans and ancillary cooking equipment that you may need in a holiday let. A door from the kitchen leads to the highlight of the cottage, the riverside patio. Laid out with table and chairs this is an ideal place to take breakfast in the morning and wine in the evening watching the wagtails, dippers and the robin. The door to the kitchen from the dining room is very low and I guarantee you will bump your head at least once! I kept my hat on! All in all I heartily recommend Bodlondeb. One more thing. The plumbing depends on two Saniflow systems, one for the bathroom and one in the kitchen. While the bathroom gave us no problem, the kitchen unit broke down halfway through our stay. A phone call to the owner resulted in great efforts to solve the problem, including a visit from a local plumber the next day. Unfortunately, the problem could not be solved before our stay ended. This was a minor inconvenience but did not affect our enjoyment. The owner kept us updated on progress regularly by text and was obviously concerned. We were very pleased with his attention. The cottage is well placed for visiting around the area. The village shop is literally next door, over the bridge and there is a pub 100 yards away! Book with no worries, you will love it. bkfrombrum (May 2018)
Comfortable and well fitted throughout with a wonderful riverside patio where you can sit and watch the dippers, wagtails and a friendly robin. Recommended unreservedly. Mr Kesseler (May 2018)
Had an excellent break at Bodlondeb cottage, fell in love with cottage as soon as I opened door, visited pub in village, made feel welcome, each morning had a relaxing stroll to beach before breakfast, plenty of lovely places to visit in area without going too far, I would love to go back again, karenpowell1962 (April 2018)
It was fine for us and loved the snug and terraces. Mrs Owen (April 2018)
This is a really nice, little cottage on the coast of north Wales. Enjoyed a great week away, with trips to very local beaches, and walks along the farm hills. Beautiful views of the countryside and ocean. Would highly recommend. monkeymagic18 (March 2018)
We stayed here for 4 nights in total. A lovely little cottage in the middle of a small village. Beach just a five minute walk away and lovely local restaurant. (Indiana cuisine) The cottage really felt like home, very warm and cosy and a beautiful patio out the back with running water, perfect for a morning cuppa! We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely think about coming back! Thank you. meganmitchell06 (February 2018)
Nice village with friendly people who were very welcoming. A nice location in all, a few minutes walk to the beach was is pleasant. Lots of helpful information provided at the cottage by the owners, made things easier when planning days out and evening meals. If you visit, make sure you sample the food at Indiana Cuisine, the best curry I've ever had and the staff so so nice! Mr Howard (February 2018)
We arrived in the rain but this didn't dampen our spirits. The cottage is lovely with a very cosy feel and instantly felt relaxed. The facilities in the cottage are spot on and it is a lovely place to spend some time, especially with the log fire downstairs and the stream running outside the garden The shop and pubs are literally seconds away from the front door and getting about is easy, either by car or by bus and train, all near to the cottage. It is a very quiet town but exactly what we were looking for and as above, is a good base to explore the local area. We walked the Mawdach trail which was excellent and spent a bit of time in Barmouth which has some good pubs in (The Last Inn being our favourite) Locals were friendly in the local pub and we were made to feel very welcome. All in all we had a great trip and I would highly recommend it Damian K (November 2017)
Stayed at Bonlondeb with 3 adults and one toddler. What a lovely cottage. Beautifully presented and a great layout. The patio area is a great place to just sit back and relax after a day at the beach or walking in the surrounding hills. Bodlondeb has all the amenities you could ask for. The pub is next door as is the village shop (small but well stocked). The river (which the patio overlooks) leads down to the pebble beach (over the train line), however the beach at Aberdovy is only 15mins away with glorious sands. We will definitely be back next year, but for a longer stay than just the 3 nights to explore more of the area. Would highly recommend Bodlondeb cottage to anyone. Adam H (September 2017)
Small cottage on a roadside bend. Temporary park space on opposite side to unload. On opening the front door, we were both Pleasantly surprised,of the room that there is, as from outside looks quite small. On three levels, lower ground dining and kitchen area. Dining room a bit dark always had light on, kitchen overlooked small river running by, a pleasure to do washing up. Outside kitchen stable door is table and chairs we're we sat every second spare, drink in coffee or wine. Everything is as described, but would like to add stairs down to kitchen for anyone with walking difficulties would not recommend. We had no problems until the day after we climbed Snowdon then had to go down carefully. The area is outstanding, with beach about 1/4 mile away, same route for request stop station timetable in cottage,a good scenic train ride. There is a shop next door with river between, and pub just down road, both I would imagine struggling. Getting back to cottage, some of the best night's sleep have had for along time, bed comfortable, and peaceful village.I have already thanked owner Michael for a good holiday, and would recommend any day. Beautiful location with beautiful beaches close by. We loved sitting outside on the patio, with the little river running by. Mrs Shipley (June 2017)
Will definitely book another holiday there. Customer 23
Days spent cycling round fabulous scenery or visting coastal towns (sometimes using excellent rail service from local station). Evenings relaxing in front of real fire in attractive snug. Thank you for a wonderful time Customer 24
We had a perfect holiday at Bodlondeb! The cottage is comfortable, cosy and well equipped. There are great walks from the cottage, either on the beach or over the hills for lovely views. We cycled the Mawddach trail and back over the hills via Cregennan Lakes in a loop. The scenery is stunning and a trip to the lakes is well recommended. We had a problem with our car and the people at Harris's garage in Fairbourne were lovely and got us back on the road, so we can recommend that garage if anyone has similar bother. Customer 25
We stayed over Christmas and the cottage was perfect. Very comfortable throughout, fully-equipped kitchen, great location. Most of our time was spent in the garden, which is next to the river, or in the snug chucking logs on the fire. The pub is nearby and the staff there were friendly and welcoming. The beach is under ten minutes away on foot and is well worth exploring. Customer 26
You really do find yourself drawn to the snug every evening, real fire lit and relaxing after adventures (walking or biking) with such great places to explore close by. All you need and want is supplied in the cottage. Simply would recommend to anyone. Thanks Customer 27
