This is by far the best holiday let we've stayed in that has been restored by the owners to a very high standard. Its tastefully decorated and furnished with quality items. The view from the balcony of the surrounding area is simply superb. You could happily spend all day on there and never get bored surrounded by cows, sheep, and watching the red kites swooping overhead. Its situated within a mile of the red lion pub that is the oldest in powys and does lovely food. The Elan valley village and ... pieman2013 (July 2017)
Stunning location. The owners, especially the dogs, were extremely welcoming. Well resourced cottage, clean and comfortable. The balcony made it the perfect property. Mrs Sanderson (April 2017)
The black mountain View cottage was a great location with amazing views across the black Mountain. The cottage was clean and tidy and done to a very high standard. I would recommend this to any body who wants a get away. Lots of places to visit and great walking. Mr Campbell (April 2017)
The holiday was great. Lovely location and we received a very friendly welcome from the owners. Mr Barker (February 2017)
This cottage is amazing so well equipped and modern, great views and Rob and liz are the loveliest people u can imagine. Mr Halpin from Launceston (December 2016)
Fantastic cottage in a lovely setting. Finished to the highest standards and spotless throughout. The views were breathtaking and it was a real joy to sit on the balcony and watch the farmer round up his sheep whilst the Red Tailed Kites flew overhead. The log burner was ultra efficient and we had to open the door on a couple of occasions before we cooked! The kitchen was well stocked and the only thing we needed through the week was a Tupperware dish, so take your own if picnics are planned! We could not get any WIFI, although the phones would connect to something it would not let us access the Internet. Rob was a fantastic host and full of useful information. On his advice we visited some lovely places and as walkers had chance to enjoy the local area. Aberystwyth seaside and Hay on Wye were an hour away, Brecon was 45 mins. Value for money and would stay again. Ms Nuttall from Leicester (October 2016)
Location was stunning. The owners were very welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. The cottage was set up well with pretty much what you would need in the kitchen, from previous experience I always take a few familiar items of my own. We found the bed a bit firm but that was probably just a personal preference . On the whole it was peaceful, quite comfortable and a good base to access the areas that we wanted to visit. I would certainly use it again and recommend it to others wanting a quiet retreat Mr Johnson from Bicester (October 2016)
Fantastic location well kept property and very relaxing. Mr Roberts from Widnes (October 2016)
Great accommodation. Very friendly and knowledgeable owners. Peaceful area. Have already rebooked for next year. Mrs Neal from Sleaford (September 2016)
The accommodation was better than we expected, with everything that was needed for self catering. It was decorated in calm pastel shades with lights everywhere. It was warm and cosy, even in damp weather. It had beautiful views from every window and the balcony which was a bonus. The owners were very helpful but not in your face. The parking was right out side the accommodation. Mrs Flanders from Hassocks (June 2016)
The cottage is exceptional and all the furnishings and fittings are of a thoughtful and very high quality. Uninterrupted beautiful views of the mountains and countryside welcome you as the view from the lovely balcony. It felt so warm and homely that the temptation was to to stay put and revel in all that nature and active country life entertained us with. We will be going back and have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this cottage. Mr Hayes from Nottingham (June 2016)
The quality of the building and furnishings was of a high standard. Everything had been thought of in this cottage. Lovely comfortable bed and matching furniture throughout. The log burner was a plus; we stayed on the coldest night of the winter but we were nice and toasty watching the stars through the balcony doors - magical. The owner was very welcoming on arrival. We loved everything about the cottage and our break away. Well worth a visit and definitely has the wow factor. Mrs Phillips from Cardigan (February 2016)
The cottage was beautiful; tastefully decorated and furnished with absolutely stunning views. It was warm and cosy and we loved having the wood burner, we lit it every night. Everything had been thought of. It was great having the use of the well equipped utility room attached to the cottage. The owners made us very welcome and we will definitely recommend to our family and friends. We were looking for rest and relaxation, and we certainly achieved that here, hopefully we will be able to make another visit in the future. Mrs Glover from Milton Keynes (January 2016)
The house, on arrival was warm & beautifully decorated for Christmas. A warm welcome from the owner who was extremely friendly, advising us on places of local interest. Definitely returning again this summer. Mr Chinnock from Plymouth (December 2015)
The view from the cottage was spectacular. The cottage was modern, clean and beautifully decorated to a very high standard. The owners were very friendly and we would definitely stay again. Mr Russell from Nottingham (December 2015)
A very warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was superb, in glorious countryside with a great view. I couldn't imagine a more relaxing, get-away-from-it-all, luxurious break in some of the best countryside in the UK. A dream break. Mr Solway from Rugby (October 2015)
We loved the peace and quiet of the cottage being in the middle of nowhere. The cottage has been built and furnished to a very high standard and the balcony area was fantastic too! The owners couldn't have been more friendly! Our intentions when we go away is to relax and not really do anything. Some might think that a waste when there is so much to see and do but we saw and did everything we needed just by staying in the cottage....stunningly beautiful. Mrs Taylor from Mansfield (September 2015)
Very good countryside location. The accommodation is a very high standard with friendly and helpful owners. Mr Jackson from Todmorden (August 2015)
