Should you be on the look-out for a lodge holiday in North Yorkshire, and you want a private hot tub to relax in, you
may well be interested in Oakwood Lodges near the village of North Duffield. A lodge break was exactly what we were looking for
and as we were hoping to visit friends near Leeds, Oakwood Lodges was in a good location for us. After exploring the area during the day we also
like to spend the evening in a hot tub - so Oakwood Lodges proved to be exactly what we were looking for.
Oakwood Lodges is a small collection of lodges, which are all positioned around a lake. The lodges are reached by a private road - about 1 mile long; so
the lodges are in the middle of the countryside. Although you're also not far from the road network - it's the best of both worlds: rural tranquillity and
easy access to York, Selby, and slightly further afield, Leeds.

Hot tubs at Oakwood Lodges
Outside the lodge is the private hot tub. Positioned in a good location on the decking at the back of the lodge, you get some good views
out over the lake. The lake is also lit up at night, and makes quite an impressive sight. The video on the left was taken
from the decking of the lodge we stayed in (Oak Lodge), and pans round to give you an idea of the layout
of the lodges, and the views of the lake from the hot tub. The video was taken as the sun came up over the tress - and shows
what a great place the hot tub is to start the day with a cup of tea!
Around Oakwood Lodges
If you want to see what's around the area, you've got the city of York about 10 miles away. Although Oakwood Lodges
has the benefit of all that rural tranquillity, you're also close enough to the A19 to make a journey into York a simple
affair. The best way to enjoy York is to park at the "Shopping Outlet Village" on the southern outskirts of York, and catch
the park and ride into the city. The shopping outlet village is also a good place to pick-up a few bargains.
