I first found out about Follow the Brown Signs when Amanda Hone, the creator of Follow the Brown Signs,
appeared on Andrew Collin's Radio 6 Music Saturday morning show. The idea of the website struck me as being a fantastic way
of discovering some parts of the UK, which you would otherwise drive straight on by.
The principle of Follow the Brown Signs is that, as the name suggests, you follow those brown tourist signs. Doesn't that just sound like a good way
of spending a day? Set off on a day out - maybe with a half-baked idea of where you want head for on your travels, then when you see a brown
sign - follow it.
Using the "Follow the Brown Signs" method of enjoying your day can work especially well on your holiday; you probably don't know the area
you'll be visiting, and the chances are you'll have more time to follow your heart - rather than having to take the M4 to your
