Exclusive villas on Lanzarote from Oliver's Travels

Exclusive villas on Lanzarote from Oliver's Travels - including Villa Graciana, Villa Estebana, Casa Palmera and Casa Picon
Where is Lanzarote
One of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote can be found just off the African coast, on the same latitude as the Sahara Desert. The Canary Islands (Gran Canaria,
Tenerfife, Fuerteventura, and of course, Lanzarote) are Spanish islands - although their proximity to the equator means this small group of islands
are very popular during the "off-peak" months.
For those wanting a bit of sun in the winter, the Canary islands are a good choice. In fact, when it comes to short-haul, the Canary Islands are the
only choice for some, pretty much, guaranteed sun during the winter. At around 4 hours flying time, you can finish work on a Friday lunch time, and
be sipping a Pina Colada by your private pool at supper time.
Tell me more about Lanzarote
Lanzarote, like all the Canary Islands, are made from volcanic eruptions; this sounds quite ominous, but fear not, you're
not going to end up an extra in a Pompei-esque news flash. It does mean, however, that you've got some dramatic scenery to explore should
the mood take you. Head into the Timanfaya National Park to witness a moonscape like panorama.
Most of the villas and hotels are scattered down the south-eastern coast of Lanzarote. Halfway up the island, on the east coast, is Arrecife - Lanzarote's capital, with the
international airport just to the south of the capital. Heading south you have the small resort of Hoyas Hondas, followed by Los Pocillos, and then there is Puerto del Carmen - the
largest of the resorts on Lanzarote.
We were lucky enough to have a
villa holiday in a quieter part of Puerto del Carmen,
the beaches and restaurants were all a short walk. There is also a promenade cycle route running
eight miles from the Puerto del Carmen to Arrecife, perfect for a
family cycle ride. Oh, and
you get to cycle under the landing aeroplanes coming in to Arrecife Airport - Fascinating!

Cycle or walk along the promenade and watch the aeroplanes land at Arrecife Airport, Lanzarote
On the southern side of Lanzarote is Playa Blanca. A quieter resort, you have a choice of restaurants and bars. There is a lovely sandy beach too. A promenade stretches for several miles and offers great views
for family walks, jogs or cycle rides - you can hire bikes in all the resorts on Lanzarote.
Experience Lanzarote yourself
If you're after a holiday on Lanzarote and you want a villa with its own private pool, I've got four recommendations for you, with all four villas being part of the
Oliver's Travels exclusive collection.
Villa Estebana
Villa Estebana can be found in Puerto Calero, towards the south of Lanzarote. Villa Estebana sleeps 6 people, with the villa being a short walk from the marina, which has a collection of bars and restaurants.
Villa Estebana
Villa Estebana
Villa Graciana in Playa Blanca is a short walk to the beaches, bars and restaurants. Villa Graciana sleeps 5 people in 2 bedrooms.
Villa Graciana
Casa Palmera and Casa Picon
Casa Picon and Casa Palmera can be found in Playa Blanca. These two villas are neighbours, with both villas sleeping 8 people each. Should you want to holiday with friends, you can always book
both villas for a holiday together (and also, a holiday apart!).
