Phew, what a scorcher. Costa del Southwold. And all the other
tried and tested puns you can throw at a sunny day by the Suffolk coast.
Whatever your preferred choice of description, it can't be denied that Southwold is the
place to be on a hot July afternoon. The photo below shows just how popular Southwold
can be when the sun comes out.

A lovely spot on Suffolk's east coast
Southwold is a very popular town on Suffolk's east coast. We live a few miles up the road, so are quite
frequent visitors to the town. In fact, I've written about a winter walk in Southwold
on a previous occasion.
A summer's day in Southwold is quite a magnificent day out. You don't have to spend hours on the sand though. The pier
is famous for its unique amusement machines. With a good scattering of cafes, restaurants and a couple
of fish & chip shops too. There is a putting green near the pier, as well as a boating lake.

Adnams home town
Should you be inclined not to do anything too strenuous on a hot summer day in Southwold, that's OK too;
this is, after all, Adnam's home town, so there are a plethora of Adnams pubs for you to sit outside and take in the ambience of the town.

If you want to try out a day in Southwold yourself, there are a variety of holiday cottages and lodges along the coast and in the
Suffolk countryside. You may want to have a look at
Trinity Cottage in Blythburgh and
April Cottage, both of which are about 5
miles from Southwold. As for lodges, there's
