If you're looking for a holiday with a difference, how about spending a few days in a castle?
There are several castles dotted around our green and pleasant land, and a select few are available to
rent for a few days.
You might think that you need to have the money of a king to spend your holiday living in a castle; but
that's not necessarily the case. As you're probably aware, castles are on the large side. This means they
sleep several people. So should you decide to get away for a few days with friends or family, and split the cost of renting a castle
between all of you, the cost per person suddenly seems very reasonable indeed.
Where can I find some holiday castle rentals I hear you say. One such place to look is
Olivers Travels - they
have nearly 200 properties to choose from, of which several are castles.
Take a this 17th Century castle
as an example. Sleeping 16 people in 8 bedrooms, this castle has a central keep, with 7 turrets surrounding the main keep. The keep even has it's
own indoor swimming pool - although I think this probably a recent addition...
Another option is this 14th Century castle. This castle in Scotland sleeps 50 people - yes, that's right, 50 people! Ideally suited for a particularly
special occasion, such as a wedding, you could rent this castle for a couple of nights, and enjoy the splendour of a 14th Century lord.
Why not see what castle holidays "Olivers Travels" has for you, and live like a king for a few days.

How about a family holiday in the sun? The Balearic Islands make a lovely location for a holiday. We were recently fortunate enough to spend a few days at the all-inclusive resort of Marina Parc on Menorca. Close to the beach at Arenal d'en Castell, Marina Parc also comes with its own water park.
