The villa was very nice but it would have been nice to be able to have the air conditioning on during the day only had two fans blowing all the hot air around . apart from that it was lovely. Alan from Northolt Middx (01 August 2018)
The villa was superb. Our only complaint, if pushed, was the drain smell which came from the bathroom occasionally and sometimes outside in the morning. Aside from that the family leave you completely alone and it is a small private heaven. On the other side the views are breathtaking and you are in an hours drive of most of tuscany’s treasures. Would highly recommend. David from Ashbourne (11 July 2018)
Lovely villa with wonderful views of tuscany. Pool was bigger than expected but seemed almost seperate from the villa. Facilities were good, everything we needed. Jonathan from Shropshire (06 June 2018)
Villa was very nice, beautiful location, pool was very pleasant but better if heated, the only downsides were, would of been helpful to explain what to do with your rubbish, lots of flys very annoying, electrics dodgy as they triped out and waited ages for them to sort it, information could of been better. Also the sat nav we where given usless, also when renting a car be aware as we were not told you pay a toll on the autostrada. But you can avoid them if possible. When going to rome watch out for pick pockets on the trains, as we lost money, they are very cleaver and work in groups. Apart from that a very nice villa. Charlotte from Loughborough (04 October 2017)
Lovely outdoor areas, beautiful tuscan views and a peaceful location. We all loved the villa and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Robert from Berwick Upon Tweed (27 September 2017)
We spent a great week here, with 2 children aged 8 and 4 who loved it. The best thing about this place is the huge private pool. You can hear the main road nearby by it is not too busy or noisy and the house and pool feel private and sheltered by trees. It's a great location to explore tuscany and was less than an hour from pisa airport. Stephanie from Surrey (30 August 2017)
Villa was excellent tucked away on a hillside but close to ce real towns. A lovely friendly restaurant at the bottom of the hill aldo with great pizza. Steve from Kent (23 August 2017)
Nice setting, great swimming pool. Shame about the standard of cleanliness within the villa. Aircon in hallway was useless, better location would have been nice within bedroom as it didn't have any impact whatsoever in it's current location. Standalone fan in small bedroom need upgrading. Paul from London (09 August 2017)
Excellent Michael from London (28 June 2017)
Booked a last minute holiday and a little apprehensive but our fears were gone as soon as we stepped in the villa. The photos in our opinion don't do it justice, inside it's traditional with all the modern amenities needed, the swimming pool is absolutely huge, clean, warm and deep , having young children you have constantly supervise. Location is stunning, rolling tuscan landscape all around and within an hour of amazing places to visit in the car. Great restaurant right next to the villa (cheap, child friendly and stunning food). only slight criticism are the beds, they are very firm (wouldn't recommend if you enjoy a soft mattress). overall the best family holiday we've had and very sad to leave. Jonathan from Cambridge (07 June 2017)
We had a wonderful stay at la melatina and would happily go back again. The accommodation is excellent - high quality, clean and perfect for us with a young child. The outdoor space is beautiful and well suited to outdoor dining, including the bbq. The pool area is fantastic - the only downside for us was the water was too cold at this time of year, but no-one can control the weather!. . the location is great - 15 mins drive to cecina and the marina there, and we had trips out to livorno and florence which are easily driveable. . . the owner was very welcoming and greeted us on arrival, providing a lovely welcome pack of goods, and providing her contact details. We didn't need her after that, but we knew where to find her. . the property is set well back from the main road at the top of the hill and provides a peaceful environment. There is a wonderful restaurant adjacent to the main property which is 5 mins walk. . would highly recommend this property to anyone. . only tip that i'd provide to anyone booking this as a package and flying into fiumicino airport is that the instructions we got for locating the car rental were a bit lacking, and we spent over an hour searching for it. If you land in t3, you need to go to the 2nd floor and then cross the footbridge to the other side from the terminal! Riley from Barnsley (04 May 2017)
Very good villa very rustic, with everything you could need. Welcome pack is great, milk, bread, wine, butter, ham, biscuits, coffee, tea, jam and water. Bring with you salt pepper sauces etc. All towels and plenty of them provided and hairdryer. Couple are very friendly and helpful. Use the lidl in cecina for most items as much better priced and take bags for life. Use local supermarkets for cheese hams etc Clair from Gourock (12 October 2016)
The villa is extremely well equipped and was clean. We had difficulty getting in initially as it is on a working farm with a locked gate so someone needs to attend to give access. It is a very small living space - only really suitable for a couple or a family with small children. It is not a rural retreat as it sits right beside a very busy and noisy main road. The pool is huge and wonderful but is unheated so it is only really going to be useable in july and august. We went in september and it was very cold. The villa is very well located for lots of attractions to the west of tuscany and the coast. Ken from Purley (21 September 2016)
The villa was very good and the pool fantastic. The outside bar b que and shaded dining area was also very good. A couple of items of feedback. perhaps in the villa description emphasise that the villa is on a farm and so needs to be accessed via an electronic gate. This is electronic so the first time you need to attract the farmer/ owner attention. Perhaps give out their mobile number with the instructions in case they are not around. . the beds were incredibly hard and pillows thin and hard also. There is also no local bread shop. Pizza restaurants also only usually serve pizza in the evening . however we had a great holiday thank you. John from Oakham (27 July 2016)
Nice villa, with huge private pool. Lovely outdoor area with shade and bbq. The actually villa is relatively small but not an issue when you spend most of the time outside. The villa had everything we needed facilities wise, the only let down is the bathroom. Only a very small shower cubicle and a shower mixer unit which needs updating. The pool is not right next to the villa but there is large area around the pool with shade etc. And is kept very clean. We had a 7month old and a 4 yr old and it was perfect for us, probably not so ideal with a toddler due to steps and tiled floors. The villa is very private and rural and only 10minutes drive to cecina for supermarkets etc. The 'coop' is huge! Tom from Oldbury (22 June 2016)
This is a lovely tradional villa set in a pretty rural location with fabulous views. The owners were welcoming and helpful in every way with a super basket of. Food and wine to welcome us . the swimming pool is enormous with a large sunbathing and seating area. About one hour from pisa( we went on train from cecina) a lovely walk to riparbella. From the villa is very picturesque. A car is essential to get around the stunning area. We highly recommend this fantastic place! John from Lancaster (04 May 2016)
