We had a wonderful holiday in this fantastic villa where the owners warmly welcomed us on arrival, assisting us with our luggage (parking area is 300 yards from the villa) and even brought us something for breakfast the next day. on arrival our hire car had a puncture and the owners sorted getting the tyre changed and arranged for us to exchange the car the next day. the villa is in a most picturesque location and the nearby village of pedona has a wonderful restaurant where the family who run it are very welcoming and the restaurant has tremendous food, wine and views. the villa has every facility and the wi-fi is excellent. the owner even came to the villa on our day of departure to assist us and say goodbye. lovely area to explore. Raymond from Guildford (19 May 2018)
An attractive and comfortable villa in an elevated location. Sally-Anne from Cumbria (14 October 2017)
I thought the place itself was fine; lovely area and wonderful views. I did feel that I should have been warned about how bad the road is (one part single track, two way, steep hill with bends!!) - possibly if people were made aware of this they would not go to this particular villa bit still I feel I should have been made aware. Second time here for us, absolutely love the villa the pool the views.riccardo and and monica are great, meet you , help you , genuine smiles and interest.one evening monica cooked for us a wonderful meal. A great place to relax and tour tuscany from.tricky to find first time but really worth the effort.we will be back. Oh and the sunsets are stunning. Julian from Yorkshire (12 August 2017)
This property is all about the location. It offers some of best views I have ever seen. We traveled around quite a bit during our week long stay and we couldn't top the views we had from la piana. The whole setting is heart-breakingly picturesque and idyllic. A perfect combination of rural, natural and tuscan heaven but within easy reach of towns and amenities. Nearby camaoire offers a very well stocked mini-supermarket. The only downside of the location is that you cannot get your car closer than about 300 metres from the villa. This only posed a problem for us because at the time we were porting our luggage on arrival it was during a cloudburst which lasted until we had finished unpacking and then promptly stopped. The villa owner was there to meet us and assisted with luggage during the deluge, providing a sack trolley and wheelbarrow so we didn't have to carry the cases or drag them through the puddles. . the property itself is rustic. A simple accommodation converted from a hay barn which is comfortable and functional, befitting of its origins, rather than being luxurious and opulent. Unlike some reviewers we found the water pressure to be good, the shower to be very good and the mains power to be almost uninterrupted. The pool is well maintained and clean. . in short, we absolutely loved our week at la piana. We would not hesitate to return. Ian from Huntingdon (27 May 2017)
For the price we paid it was fine. This is the second time we've been there. Only real problem this time was that on arriving at the villa ricardo the owner told us that the water pressure in the area was a problem (it wasn't the last time we were there) and the water could go off. It was fairly low pressure the whole time we were there, and on the last night I managed to get a very quick cold shower with very low pressure and not properly washed, but my husband didn't as pressure was so low. It was late so we didn't phone ricardo as he'd said that the pressure applied to the whole area so we thought someone would do something about it. However in the morning we got up to absolutely no water so couldn't wash or flush the toilet which was awful. We left the villa feeling very unclean to travel home. Ricardo was coming to see us before we left and we told him about the water. He said thanks for letting him know but never said sorry when we told him we couldn't wash. I washed dishes with water from the pool. Agnes from Hamilton (01 October 2016)
An excellent location in terms of the view. Very comfortable to stay in. Requires more lighting on the veranda/patio area. Very friendly owner who was very helpful and accommodating. Jeremy from Nottingham (10 September 2016)
We have had a wonderful week at la piana. The views from the villa are quite amazing. we loved the pool, eating out under the covered patio and observing the plentiful wildlife in the garden. the village of pedona was lovely and we enjoyed several excellent meals at il soggiourno. plenty to see and do in the surrounding area too. Frances from Weston-Super-Mare (16 July 2016)
Fantastic place to go and recharge your batteries. Stunning views around the villa. Owners very helpful upon arrival and throughout your stay if needed. Everything you need is in the villa. Bit of a drive to the villa and parking is a little walk away but not too far. Will most certainly be returning. Clare from Ely (25 June 2016)
Superb mountain and seaside views from this hilltop villa although the price paid is a tortuous winding road and parking quite some distance from the property. Directions to the villa were very accurate which was essential! pedona is a lofty and quaint hilltop hamlet and the villa actually looks down on to it! villa is comfortable (although some furnishings looking a bit tired) and the gardens are very well maintained providing a choice of eating out & sunbathing sites. Wifi was welcome so we could receive most uk tv channels. Nick from Durham (28 May 2016)
The view from the villa is absolutely stunning and the villa's location is so peaceful and quite, situated at the top of the mountain. Murray from Pedona (14 May 2016)
Lovely location with views across the coastal plain to the sea and the other way to the hills and mountains inland. Within easy reach of pisa, lucca, florence and san gimignano. Walk from car parking area to villa wasn't as bad as anticipated. The villa is not overlooked but does have neighbouring properties - so is not remote. Martin from Hereford (17 October 2015)
The villa is on the highest point of a hill, just a 5 min walk above a hilltop village. The views are therefore 360 degrees, and include mountains and sea. The pool and outdoor areas are perfect, as is the villa interior. The small village has a single restaurant/supermarket. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. You're also just a 20 min drive from the beach. Barry from Bournemouth (02 August 2014)
"The villa and pool, and the location, are all wonderful. So are the owners. They met us with a smile even though we arrived at 1 a.m., and throughout our stay treated us like family friends rather than paying guests. The drive from Camaiore is 10 mins up a steep and winding road. The villa is just above Pedona, a small hilltop village that has one restaurant/shop - which is all you need. It's friendly, has free wi-fi, and the food's good. The villa sits on the highest point of the hill, giving complete privacy and magnificent views. There's a well-maintained concrete path from the villa down to Pedona, and you can walk down in less than 5 mins." Mr Gunner from Bournemouth (26 July 2014)
Directions for the last half mile of journery were incorrect. Aside from that, everything else was as described on the website. Mr Eynon from London (28 June 2014)
Absolutely beautiful and very very nice family who own the villa Miss Goodman from Chinnor (21 June 2014)
