Villa was lovely did feel damp when first arrived baby travel cot mattress was damp showing wet areas when taking bedding off Helen (23 June 2018)
Lovely villa, much bigger than the photos suggest. Adequately equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday. . . helpfully, the villa is toddler friendly and a high chair was provided with cups, plates, bowls and cutely suitable for little fingers. . great pool and lots of toys to play with. . there is a playground in walking distance, as is the club house but the marriott hotel is a bit of a walk (15 mins). the club house serves a snack menu all day and dinner is from 7pm. Similarly, the marriott also serves a snack menu in its bar and the restaurant opens for dinner (buffet 30€) at 7pm. There is another restaurant at the beach front, which is a drive away. earlier dining options can be found in the surrounding area, but all are about a 20 minute drive. . the beaches are beautiful and again are a short drive away. Andrew from London (17 June 2017)
Villa azure was a lovely, spacious, well equipped villa. We holidayed with our son, his wife and our two young grand daughters aged 7 & 11. We found the facilities were perfect for self catering and the two bathrooms were an added bonus. we were pleasantly surprised and grateful for the modern tv, dvd player, playstaction and we'll stocked dvd collection and even a selection of paperback books which came to the 'rescue' on the rainy day we had during our stay. There was only one negativity to the villa and that was the fusty smell of damp but a dehumidifier was working away 24/7 so I assume this is something the owners are aware of and are addressing so I give the villa a 9 out of 10 rating... very happy with villa azure. Compared to other villas we've stayed at around the world there were a lot of missing basics. . one threadbare bath and hand towel per adult - not enough. No phone. Tv didn't work. Smelled of damp. Welcome pack very poor value. Flies drove us crazy !. would benefit from a few very basic things like salt and pepper that have always been provided in other villas. Grandson enjoyed the pool. Bbq was nice Russell from Caerphilly (03 September 2016)
The villa was very clean, tidy and spacious. we found everything we needed easily, kitchen was well equipped and bbq was great. . one thing that would have been really useful is some sort of information on where the nearest supermarket was, opening hours, local pharmacy etc. we went to the nearest village and met some lovely locals who told us where to find the biggest supermarket nearby (peniche by the way). . kids loved the pool but found it really cold - we didnt think we would need heating and didnt realise we had to ask for it at the time of booking or not have it at all which was a bit annoying. So if you think you will want it - book it!. . all in all we were very pleased with the villa and the location. Elizabeth (13 August 2016)
Beautiful villa, modern high spec and very well equipped. Loved the golf resort and the access to a lovely quiet beach. It was perfect for my family of grown up children. As the garden wraps around the villa the pool isn't visable from all areas so not sure if I would be comfortable renting with very small children but otherwise really really nice Alison from Bedfordshire (25 June 2016)
No flies!!!! we literally landed back home yesterday after a fabulous may half term break at this villa. An very easy 50 min drive direct from the airport. The weather was great so my son ( 5 yrs) lived in the pool. We all did everyday. We took a few cheap pool toys with us and that did the job! . the photos don't do it justice to be honest. It's very spacious. The pool is a perfect size for little kids to play in throughout the day. We would advise to pause the pool heating at this time of year though but after a couple of days it was like a bath. The bedrooms are spacious , clean and lovely. Great power showers in the bathrooms and huge towels provided. . the kitchen area is very very well equipt with 2 fridge / freezers and dishwasher and combi washer/ drier and the living area was lovely. A huge sofa for all 5 of us to flop on at the end of a a fun filled day and the tv and dvd player were excellent. We took a few movies and box sets but actually there there lots on offer already there. There's loads of kids bits too , plastic crockery in the kitchen aswell. We bbq and ate outside every evening, again well stocked with tools. a little sun trap! . we google mapped a supermarket which was 15 mins away and just brilliant. Amazing bbq meats and we ate like kings for pretty cheap. . the villa is on a fabulous golf resort which is maintained beautifully. A 2 min drive up the road and you can gonto the most lovely beach side restaurant called argento which we ventured out to one night. Amazing sea food and great pasta dishes for kids. Beautiful beach views and affordable! the beach is equally lovy if u fancy a change from the villa- very big surfing town! . all in all we cannot fault our first villa holiday. It lived up to our expectations and the whole family loved it. Louise (04 June 2016)
Agree with the other review on here, there really is quite a fly problem. . there isn't any useful information in the villa about the local area or how to work the pool. . the grounds are beautiful, nothing at all in the immediate area - any supermarkets bars restaurants are a good 15mins away in peniche, there's an intermarche and lidl there as well as beach and restaurants. . allegedly there's a supermarket on site but this is a fast-paced 15 min walk away and there was nothing on the shelves when we went! there is a marriott hotel about a 10 min walk away that has a restaurant but this looked quite pricey so we didn't eat out. . we'd hugely recommend going to the surfers lodge in baleal for dinner/lunch. Not cheap but the nicest food i've ever had!! :) Caroline from Berkshire (03 October 2015)
Villa was clean, however, we struggled to cope with the amount of flies, some days we squatted in the region of 80 inside the villa. We couldn't open the doors because of this. the pool was adequate. the position of the pool was, for us, a little inconvenient as it was away from the outside dining area or doors from the villa. also annoying flies when around pool. Chris from Herts (22 August 2015)
Villa azure is of a high standard, well equipped & spacious. . the pool is small, did need heating and had some pump problems but these were quickly resolved. The villa had no welcome pack, so no info regarding resort, things-to-do or villa management. The villa had a major fly problem, which needs to be addressed!. preya d'el rey was not as expected - not really a resort, more a luxury estate. The "communal" pools are for apartment residents only so this is misleading, as is the location relative to beach and shop, which are realistically a drive away. Alan from Leicester (01 August 2015)
