Enjoyed casa de pedra, location great, cottage well equipped apart from flimsy plastic table and chairs outside (having a meal was difficult as not sturdy enough) also outdoor pool loungers same as above.(one broke during our visit). we were not happy that building work was happening at next villa on estate. As owners were away we did inform james villas and although loud drilling stopped whilst we were in villa, we had to inform owners when we would be out so the men could continue. Not really what you want when on holiday. Owners were very nice and accommodating- however much work left on the large house. This was an excellent accomodation well situated and easy walking distance from the centre of funchal. The owners were pleasant, friendly and happy to provide information on the island. Super location within walking distance (although a bit steep on the way back!) of funchal town with great shops restaurants etc. Excellent welcome pack supplied, kept us going after a very tiring journey. The owners of the villa was so welcoming and friendly and really wanted us to have a good time. The villa was of a high standard, very clean with everything we needed as well as little extras. This villa in its private grounds was absolutely super. A comfortable, totally clean building with quality fittings and furnishings in immaculately kept grounds of a working Quinta. Everything was there to make and back up an excellent holiday experience.
