Perfect family holiday in megapod x - so much to do both onsite and in the area, beautiful surroundings. The pod, although a bit cramped for 4, was immaculately clean and had all we needed for our short break. The nightly enterainment was great and both children (10 and 3) really enjoyed the mini disco. Very tasty food in restaurant, although not the cheapest. Nice pool with very clean changing areas etc. A lovely, lovely place which we look forward to returning to very soon!
Laura from Solihull (31 August 2018)

Very good little 4 night break. Lots to do for the kids, but you had to pay extra for these for everything.
Marcella (31 August 2018)

Fantastic place with loads for the kids! we will definitely be back!
Ashley from Wolverhampton (31 August 2018)

Beautiful location, surrounded bu the lovely forest of dean. Lots on site and lots in the surrounding area. The whole family really enjoyed stay in the mega pod xl. Highly recommended.
Gary (31 August 2018)

We have been going to. Whiteness for years but we’re disa this time. The cabins cost a lot of money and expected better. Broken catch on gate so had to tie it together with a plastic bag. Module on ceiling in one of the bedrooms and en suite of the other. Damp smell in cabin. Broken trim on bath, ripped settee, rust in the microwave, lock on cabin stopped working so we couldn’t get in (this was rectified quickly but not the point) . staff there are friendly and helpful but for the money we paid very disappointed with the cabin itself
Debbie from Berkshire (24 August 2018)

A fantastic location and apartment was amazing. The facilities were great for both the adults and children - we would definitely visit again!
Jody (24 August 2018)

Property was dark, with poor lighting. Shower facilities were damaged and not of a good standard. Additional activities were overpriced and of poor quality.
John from South Wales (20 August 2018)

We enjoyed our stay and would love to see more activities next time.
Mahesh from Hornchurch (20 August 2018)

We had a lovely holiday. Just too short! would highly recommend to friends.
Jayne from Eastbourne (17 August 2018)

Disappointed at the standard of the lodge. desperately in need of a complete re-turn and the outside painting/repairing. Handles on drawers in kitchen very loose, as were the handles on wardrobes and chest of drawers. window latches didn’t work properly (bathroom). lots of cobwebs up at ceiling height. bathroom floor very uneven and smelt of damp. . the on-site facilities were of a good standard, we were just disappointed with the accommodation for the price paid. we have stayed on similar sites recently of a much higher quality accommodation. But paid a lot less.
Anita from Wirral (17 August 2018)

Great – we all loved it!
Rachel from Whitemead – Forest Of Dean (17 August 2018)

The park itself is fantastic. The downside was that our lodge smelt so badly of damp dog that it made us feel quite ill. Nothing would get rid of the smell. We still had a fab holiday though, the accommodation just let it down
Emily from Sutton Coldfield (13 August 2018)

Nice place to visit. Staff friendly, lots of walks and bike rides to explore.
Gary (13 August 2018)

Apartments need new windows and doors they look dated. Big gaps in both patio doors and one wouldn’t lock reported first day and still hadn’t been on the last day! facilities really good and clean! food obviously not freshly prepared spaghetti like water did complain and gave us a round of drinks to compensate!
Claire from Cottingham (13 August 2018)

Lovely park in beautiful forest but not much round about and ended up travelling to the cotswolds each day
Victoria (10 August 2018)

A great mini break. Perfect location for exploring the forest of dean, and great activities on site for rainy days or just chilling! excellent restaurant.
Sharon from London (03 August 2018)

A fabulous pod, clean and well equipped. We all (including archie the dog) had a lovely 5 day stay.
Louise from Stow (03 August 2018)

Lovely open scenic spaces, good outdoor games, super evening entertainment and bingo. Great pool. The whole park felt very safe for the children. The food was very nice and we loved that you catered so well for our alternative diets - vegetarian and gluten-free. The gluten-free breakfast was delicious! our log cabin had a lovely position on the edge of the pond so we enjoyed feeding the ducks every morning. The inside space was comfortable and quiet. Overall an excellent holiday, we are very pleased.
David from Chesham (03 August 2018)

Dirty lodges. Not worth the money. The place is for camping only
Terry from Manchester (30 July 2018)

Really happy with facilities and entertainmen, certainly surpassed my expectations. I would go back again and would recommend it. I wasps amazed at how clean the restaurant and bar was. Great job.
Rob from Redhill (28 July 2018)

A lovely park, helpful and happy staff and great facilities. The only thing negative was zero phone reception and limited wi-fi away from the leisure centre. Perfect if you are wanting to get away from it all though!
David (27 July 2018)

Lovely break, my granddaughter who is 5 years old loved it. Some more free entertainment for kids would be nice. Overall had a great time.
Natasha from Abingdon (27 July 2018)

Stayed in a pod- quite hot so lucky we took a fan. Very clean site. Be nice for an outdoor pool. Entertainment ok not well used so almost empty during our stay.
Jen (26 July 2018)

Amazing for kids and a great location to visit places
Richard from Rothwell, Leeds (24 July 2018)

Overall was fine. Getting bookings for activities at short notice was not possible which was a bit inconvenient.
Devaki from London (20 July 2018)

Wifi was terrible
Sarah (16 July 2018)

Had a lovely stay one of the best parks i've stayed at, lots to do and beautiful surroundings
Elisa (13 July 2018)

Very pleased with our accommodation in a lodge.
Ian from Eastleigh (09 July 2018)

Holiday was great we have been to 4 different holiday parks in the past month and this was by far one of my favourites. For the price it’s fantasti the lodge was beautiful and so spacious more so than I had expected it really was great. Nothing was too far from anything and the facilities were great. We were greeted by a lovely lady on entrance (who turns out was a new starter but in my opinion she was so professional I had initially thought she was management) we were given a bag with all the park details and info and some tee and coffee things. The swimming pool was great me and my sister really enjoyed the jacuzzi and steam room, my daughter enjoyed the swimming too! we had breakfast one morning which was nice although the bacon was extremely dry but it was fine. Overall a fantastic experience and the staff really were great so friendly and always happy to help. the only thing I would say is when we orders breakfast to take away we were told we were able to take pancakes away. We sat and waited for them and they were brought out on a plate I advised the girl they were to take away she didn’t seem happy at all and went to speak to the lady at the till and then came back with out pancakes which were just shoved into the containers and looked awful, they actually tasted awful too.
Saliha from Swindon (02 July 2018)

Had a great time here! myself my partner and my 2 daughters aged 3 and nearly 2 really enjoyed!! great place to spend family time together! we had a cabin on the lake where ducks swam up to our cabin in the morning! my girls loved it! we cant wait to go back :)
Mark from Neath (02 July 2018)

Great place but unable to use top bedroom due t heat facility to have a fan or to open windows would be great
Joanne (29 June 2018)

We enjoyed our time here very much . we've come here three years running because it is dog friendly and there are lots of footpaths in the woods next to the park .
Alison from West London (15 June 2018)

Clean, spacious and great area.
Lorna from Devizes (11 June 2018)

Absolutely brilliant. Only spent 4 nights there but had a fantastic time, so much, that we are booking another one in august.
David from Reading (01 June 2018)

The pod was a bit cramped but we still had a great holiday
Karen from Wolverhampton (01 June 2018)

We had a lovely time at whitemead forest park. We had not visited before and some of the reviews particularly about the lodges were concerning. However, i’m glad we still chose to go. The lodge we stayed in was lovely, the swimming pool and bar area were great. We also loved just walking around the park as the boys cycled or played on the parks. A great time indeed and we will certainly hope to return!
Alison from Wolverhampton (28 May 2018)

We loved the park and the staff were really helpful but we really would have liked somewhere to sit inside with our dog. The weekend was a really wet one and we had to go to the 2 local pubs so that we could eat inside with our dog. It would be great if you could have a dog friendly cafe serving snacks etc. The activities were a little pricey as we had already paid a fair bit to stay the weekend.
Suzanna from Gloucester (28 May 2018)

This was a great break!. nice that you can use all facilities great food!!. it was nice to sit and eat outside!. accommodation nice clean and tidy!. weak wifi in lodge only a problem for teenagers!!. but good wifiby main building’. overall we really enjoyed it and so did the dog going through the forest!!
Jayne from Wolverhampton (28 May 2018)

Vicki from Newport (25 May 2018)

Christine from Hertfordshire (21 May 2018)

Excellent park with great facilities.
Kim from Exeter (18 May 2018)

Lovely site for relaxing
Tina from Bristol (18 May 2018)

Excellent holiday location and facilities. lodge was of excellent quality and cleanliness. . . two local pubs in walking distance which also catered for customers with well behaved dogs this was ideal as the only fault whitemead had they did not allow pets into any of the built up buildings including bar, restaurant. This was not a problem the week we visited as the weather was good.
Paula from Drybrook (18 May 2018)

Excellent park & clean, comfortable accommodation. Leisure centre lovely.
Susan from Greasby (13 April 2018)

The weather was not kind to us but we enjoyed the break. Loved the improvements to the parks and eating areas. Disappointed in the space and lack of indoor equipment for the under 5's.

Lovely peaceful and relaxing break. sheep wandering around the village. Close to beautiful walks through the forest. Need to go back as there are places I didn't get time to visit. Some building going on around the site at the moment. Very intermittent wifi signal and no phone signal. Fab for those wanting to get away from everything.

Great setting, apartment had ample space but was tired - these are not 'premium' but are pleasant and functional. Staff were very friendly and the facilities were very good. The children loved it and we will return.
Clare (19 February 2018)

The cabin we stayed in was smelly and not very clean. The swimming pool was nice. Overall the place was a bit too big (too many cabins, campers etc) we prefer smaller sites. Can’t fault the staff they were very helpful and polite it’s just the cabin that let it down.
Angela from Oxford (19 February 2018)

Fantastic from start to finish, can’t wait to go again

I was a bit let down by food but there is the option to self-cater so I will remember that next time. staff were extremely helpful especially the salon ladies, the manager and zoe and two ladies on reception, a younger girl with short blonde hair and an older lady also with short (i think blonde) hair, with glasses. . the only struggle was the very short journey from apartment to main complex we had to use the car, as the paths were not wheelchair friendly enough to push. . wifi needs much improvement apart from that we had a great break!

Plenty walking trails on doorstep. Not too hilly
Paul from Rhondda (01 December 2017)

My daughter and I visited your site at the end of november, which in hindsight was not a brilliant time to visit you as you were setting up for christmas and the local attractions were also setting up for christmas too. we stayed in no 24 which was very comfortable for the two of us and the two grandchildren ( 3 and 8 months). we would definitely stay with you again and maybe try one of the apartments which seem slightly bigger. it is a lovely site in beautiful surroundings. we found the staff very friendly and although busy setting up for father christmas to arrive, had time to chat with us.

Fab weekend break with friends will certainly be coming back, everything lovely and clean staff helpful and friendly
Sarah from Cwmbran (27 November 2017)

Third visit - bungalow first then first floor bluebell apartment then ground floor primrose. this last trip was the worst - could footsteps from above every time the occupants were there - children running about constantly made it worse. loud music could be heard from the venue on friday and saturday until midnight. got on our nerves. swimming pool / gym not open at the advertised time on saturday morning. Apart from that, we had an enjoyable time, the staff that we spoke to were great, the christmas lights were beautiful and the apartment refurbs look lovely and ours was spotless.

Nice place and facilities. Seems the locals don’t have much to do as spent over an hour in jacuzzi so we had to wait. Sauna is tiny. Staff are friendly. Went to bar at 9.30 ish but not served as no one been in since 8 so they closed! we went to pub down road and met others from the site so had they not closed may be they would have had a bar full!!
Karen from Birmingham (10 November 2017)

We had a lovely break. . . I would say that the cabin was "a bit tired" and in need of a bit of tlc. . . but overall a great place to stay.

Lovely park, well located with very good facilities. staff are friendly and helpful, good bar, restaurant and leisure center. site very clean, even though some major construction works were ongoing, great walking on your doorstep. couple of nice, friendly pubs within 5 minutes walk - both do great food. great for site which caters for all; young, old, families or couples. there really is something for everyone.

The holiday lodge was wrongly advertised on the website when we booked, when it was amended we called up to change lodges as there was no other lodges available. Are stay was extremely uncomfy as there were not enough beds for everyone.as bunk beds were suitable for littles ones for saftey.
Samantha from Wrexham (30 October 2017)

Excellent all round will be back
Robert (30 October 2017)

Fantastic holiday. Had a great family break at halloween. . only downsides is the shop is way too small and doesn't stock enough, especially as there are no supermarkets close by. Pool could maybe do with a slide or similar. . other than that amazing place.

My family including 3 children 4-14 and my 70 year old mother stayed in a two story lodge which was lovely, we stayed in the october half term and enjoyed the evening entertainment as well as the beautiful surrounding. The park is well looked after and the facilities are excellent. There was only one small issue which was a very squeaky bunk bed but that’s just one of those things ! I would recommend it for everyone of all ages.

Everything we needed was there, cabin was spotless, staff polite and very helpful, food at restaurant/club was delicious and not overpriced. Couldn't fault it.
Antony from Redditch (13 October 2017)

It was a lovely place to stay. Great surroundings and pleasant helpful staff. Lots to do in the area. We took our dog with us and he had a great time with the wildlife! probably would not pay full price in the summer as a bit expensive for a short stay.
Melanie from Bristol (13 October 2017)

Lovely holiday in a relaxing location.

We had a wonderful week and were able to see new places. . the cabin was spacious for our needs and comfortable. Car parking spaces were not clearly marked out as we expected so others parked in our allocated spot. The pool and resturant were excellent and the children's playground too. The squirrels kept us entertained and the ducks too.

This is defiantly just a base to sleep, there was nothing going on here and we was booked in for the week but left on the wednesday morning due to not having much to do. Good location if you just want to go on walks.

The fact that my child almost flipped out the seat in the playground on the swing and then saw another child and father crying as did come out upside down and the staff did nothing after reporting it frankly was outrageous. They will have a court case on their hands pretty quickly if they don't deal with the problem rather than ignore comments.

Lovely place but lodge was a bit damp and bedrooms much smaller than other lodges we have stayed in. Overall nice and swimming pool was lovely. Lovely weekend but lodges a bit tired.

The park is in a lovely area, loved the pool but needed to go before the children came home from school. The bar sold some lovely food and does take away if needed. The apartment was nice, kitchen well stocked only grumble the sofa s need changing. All in all a lovely place to stay as a base for visiting the surrounding areas.
Diane from Manchester (15 September 2017)

We went out of season, to use as a base for our sightseeing in the area. (lots of castles in easy reach) . it was a large apartment, clean, and a nice quiet park with well looked after grounds. Only minor drawback was a large picture window where the double glazing had blown, making it look dirty.
Martin from Leeds, West Yorkshire (15 September 2017)

We had an enjoyable long weekend at whitemead and our dog thoroughly enjoyed it too. "so many exciting things to dream about chasing, squirrels, ducks and deer, if only they had let me off the lead!"
Jackie from Wiltshire (04 September 2017)

Great place to stay. Pool could do with refurbishment and the floor and slides were very rough leading to a few cuts and scapes
Benn from Birstall (01 September 2017)

Lovely holiday park with good facilities. Helpful and friendly staff. The only fault is no phone signal but you can get wifi in the main area.
Lisa (01 September 2017)

I like the park but there was not enough to do for the children and all activities got booked up very quickly. The pool could have been more fun too.
Tanya (28 August 2017)

Lovely setting warm atmosphere the only draw back was the expense of on-site activities which add up to a lot with a family of 3 children. If they were cheaper would have spent much more time on-site and then in a way spend more money there in the bar resteraunt etc.
Stephanie from Neath (25 August 2017)

Ideal place for a young family, a fraction of the price of other larger forest style resorts. the apartment was so much larger than expected, not at all pokey. the views from our apartment were lovely. Would have preferred some private outdoor space for our first floor apartment as it felt that the ground floor ones had use of the picnic tables outside of theirs, a small balcony would have been fine instead of just a juliet balcony. . downside to our apartment was that it was too close to the entertainment venue so was noisy most evenings until 11pm and then the noise of people heading back to their apartments woke us up a bit. we booked last minute so had we booked earlier I would have asked for an apartment further away. . the facilities were good but not a huge amount to do so after a couple of days we felt we needed to get off site and explore the area. . . I used the spa which was great value and they fit me in at short notice. Pool and changing rooms were fine but would have been good if there had been a slide of something for the kids. Just floats at splash time got a bit boring. . . overall however felt it was a lovely little place and just what we needed. I was 33-34 weeks pregnant so needed somewhere where everything was acccesible and on our door step which this place was perfect for! . . would recommend and consider coming back but staying on the outskirts of the park rather than central.
