Nice location. Expected towels but there were none. Staff said they would provide them, but never did. Absolutely no cleaning stuff in caravan. We were only staying 3 nights so were not prepared to buy cleaning materials - but of course we had to. Did not like club house i'm afraid - not our sort of thing.
Helen (04 November 2017)

Once again I had a very enjoyable stay a the site. A small oversight concerning my allocated caravan was corrected extremely quickly by being given an upgrade with no extra cost. Although it was the last week of the season, the staff were still focused and as always very friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning next year. Many thanks
Gillian from Kent (04 November 2017)

Very nice location. Chalet clean, and had most things we needed. Very hilly however, so difficult to park the car. Paid for wifi, which was very intermittent. Chip shop very poor quality. Didn't use any of the other facilities. A good self catering base, however.
Fiona from Stowmarket (30 October 2017)

We has a wonderful time on my first stay on the island I would definitely come back again
Clare from New Milton (30 October 2017)

It was my first time to the iow and may I just say that we had a fantastic time. our caravan was a little small, but we know for the next time to increase our size. the facilities that were on site we great and great to have so many places to walk our dog.
John from Somerset (28 October 2017)

We had a lovely stay in a crewe caravan, which was modern and well maintained inside, and felt pretty spacious. We had difficulties with the gas fire but help was prompt, efficient and friendly. The view over the bay was beautiful and it's an easy drive to most visitor attractions. The swimming pool was a bit dated but clean and well-staffed. Fish and chips from the onsite takeaway were tasty and freshly cooked, if on the pricey side. The shop wasn't brilliantly stocked but there are supermarkets in newport. We had a great time and would go here again, excellent value for money.
Andrea from Wesr Sussex (28 October 2017)

We were very impressed with the clean and tidy accommodation and friendly staff. Pat who came and checked on us when we moved in was very helpful. We were there one week before the autumn half term so it was nice and quite. But we were pleased to see a variety of activities for the children in the swimming pool and in the evening with the entertainment team. Plenty of things to do around the island and one of our favourites was the steam railway.
Tanwir from London (20 October 2017)

Fantastic week spent in a lodge. The facilities were great and staff very friendly. I suppose the only thing I could pick on would be that the nearby beach isnt particularly nice but that's fussy of me!
Charlie (20 October 2017)

Top class really enjoyed ourselves plenty to do on the island and if you dont want to travel have a day relaxing at the camp great food and long beach walks
Malcolm from Southampton (07 October 2017)

Good enough for what I need
Maria from Peterborough (02 October 2017)

Our caravan was filthy. Shower was muddy. Toilet was disgusting. Swimming staff were not friendly.
Arosa from London (02 October 2017)

Great site and fantastic entertainment team. Chip shop was wonderful as was shop.
Matthew (30 September 2017)

Had an excellent stay at thorness bay the views we has from the van of bay was brilliant and the entertainment of the night was one of the highlights of our holiday, the van could of done with a better clean as there was mould on the bathroom blide and it would of been nice to be supplied with some cleaning items, other than that was brilliant would recommend and definitely go back ! (:
Scott from Bridlington (30 September 2017)

Enjoyed my holiday so much couldn't fault this holiday camp been going to same place for years tried others but always go back to this place it's just perfect
Karen from Battle (25 September 2017)

Maintence guy was lovely and really helpful but didn't think other staff were that friendly
Customer 15 from Southampron (25 September 2017)

Would definitely go back it was a friendly and happy holiday
Leslie from East Cowes (23 September 2017)

The accommodation had not been cleaned properly, there was the smell of urine on entering, in the oven the tray had the remains of chips and the gas fire took several attempts to light. The staff were informed and the cleaning lady apologized stating 'she had been off work that week' we were eventually provided with alternative heating (2 electric radiators) fortunately we were only using the accommodation as a base for touring, we did not use any of the other park facilities preferring instead to eat/drink out and returning in the evenings just to rest.
Sheila from Northampton (18 September 2017)

We had a great time, we enjoyed the evening entertainment as we felt that it was family based and we could all participate, the troupers were all very freindly and appeared to enjoy what they were doing, our chidren thought that terry was hilarious. Thank you for making our holiday an enjoyable one and we will definitely come back again.
Lee from Eastbourne (16 September 2017)

The park was too remote with no public transport or nearby pubs or resturants
Peter from Hertford (15 September 2017)

The caravan park its self nice but disappointing beach .
Brenda (11 September 2017)

Good location with a short walk/drive to the adjacent beach and other isle of wight locations easy to reach. Nice, quiet site with good facilities and friendly staff. Small problem with the accommodation fixed immediately.
David from Stourbridge (09 September 2017)

Caravan smelt damp as did the sheets as though it needed airing , was ok after leaving doors open for a a few hours but for the money we paid we did not want to complain as it was good value
Adrian from Southampton (08 September 2017)

Caravan smelt horrible the floor was dirty .not much on site to do.swimming pool needs refurb.caravan under tree all you could here was acorns. Dropping on the roof all the time in the night.arcade dated.
Anthony from Hertfordshire (02 September 2017)

The pool is small for a park of that size. Son wanted to do football camp, but staff off sick.
Kate from Worcestershire (02 September 2017)

While we were initially impressed by the appearance of the caravan, on closer inspection we found a lot of mould, particularly in the bedrooms! we soon discovered that it could be easily wiped off! as we had a 2yr old with us who has been admitted to hospital seven times with breathing difficulties, our first hour was spent cleaning! although we didn't allow this to cast a cloud over our holiday, we felt that the cleaning staff should have been more observant and made aware that a quick wipe over window frames and bedheads would have made all the difference! . we had a lovely week and were very impressed by the site, the pool and the restaurant! the staff we came into contact with were all polite, friendly and very helpful!
Karen from Horsham (02 September 2017)

Brilliant location and park lovely friendly staff xx
Carl (01 September 2017)

We have spent thousands in the past on holidays and this was truly a wonderful break and we want to come back! can you offer any special deals??
Victoria from Epsom (01 September 2017)

Toilet dirty, mattress on all beds needed changing, shower dirty, double bed sheet not changed heating not working properly overall lousy break.
Robert from New Milton (01 September 2017)

Caravan was not cleaned properly and we found one dovet on the floor under the bed. The douvet and the caravan smelled as if some animal had died in there. On complaining the following day the whole caravan was ozone treated and all the bedding replaced. Why this could bout have been done before we took over is beyond me. We were promised a refund for the first night which we are still waiting to receive. . not the better holiday experience
Harkamal (01 September 2017)

Our caravan was not cleaned and smelled terrible we had to sleep in it for 1 night luckily we got an upgrade which was a lot better staff seemed generally miserable the best thing about this site was the fish and chip shop...also a few people there were complaining about cleanliness we had to go and buy cleaning products it was that dirty.
Mark from Hailsham (01 September 2017)

Shop/club/grounds etc good but the caravan not clean/beds not made only a couple ot stocked plates etc not sheets mouldy curtains last person left loads of pants etc left behind in wardrobe cleaners work needs to be checked fridge not defrosted all iced up I left freezer and fridge door open but I had to defrost it to use it
Dawn (01 September 2017)

Late to be checked in as cleaners hadn't finished, them whenwe did get in it was filthy anyway, even poo still down the toilet, horrible!
Matthew (01 September 2017)

This was our first time here and the kids really enjoyed it, my only downfall would be that they need to do a little more for the older kids mine were 14 and 15 and struggled with what to do on site. apart from that we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back next year
Alice from Carlisle (01 September 2017)

Lovely site. Thoroughly recommend. Had a wonderaul stay
Tracy from Canterbury (01 September 2017)

Overall everyone enjoyed but there isn't anything special at this place. The caravan was lean but toilet smelled of urine. The site wasn't very clean with tree branches and leaves on the road. The beach was the most disappointing place. Overall all the facilities and environment was very basic with mo special feel. I will certainly not recommend this.
Ahsan (28 August 2017)

Great park and great location. but our residence had an overwhelming dog smell. it felt like we were living in a kennel. all our clothes had the dog smell after leaving and needed a thorough cleaning.
Michael (28 August 2017)

Fabulous camp site best caravan me and my family have ever stayed in
Peter from Farnborough (28 August 2017)

The caravan we stayed in was damp and there was a strong smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. I contacted reception but didnt receive any reply or help with the situation. The restaurant served us cold food, and it took almost an hour to order it
N.E (28 August 2017)

We have enjoyed our previous holidays at thorness bay and we did this time as well. We took our young grandchildren for the first time and for us it was to enjoy a long weekend reminiscing when our children were young at thorness bay. I was disappointed to find that our caravan was dirty. Rather than complain and put a taint of unhappiness on a short time, I cleaned the cutlery and shower and kitchen etc. Would we come again, I would like to think so, but now feel reserved over the dirty condition of the caravan. It's such a shame to me that the basic needs of a clean caravan is being over looked on such a good site.
Sharon from Langdon Hills Basildon (28 August 2017)

I saw few spider web in my caravan, not cleaned. . no pillow sheets, duvet cover and bed sheets were there.
Amrita from Sutton (28 August 2017)

Had a lovely weekend. Obviously great weather helped. Evening entertainment could be better but it was near the end of the season. Caravan was very clean even though it was for pets too.
Marie from Nottingham (28 August 2017)

Site in a lovely setting. Caravan good apart from uncomfortable beds. Restaurant good. kids' entertainment and activities good.
Vanessa from Rochester (28 August 2017)

Standard and cleanliness of pool area needed improving. Not enough lockers which were too small and some had their locks broken. Also too many people allowed in the pool at once. Staff responsive to complaints but more money really should be spent on improving this area of indoor entertainment.
Kathleen from Southend-On-Sea (26 August 2017)

The only saving grace with this holiday were the beautiful views and access to the beach. on arrival we opened our caravan door and the strong aroma of cooking oil hit us. thinking this would disappear it did not even after we purchased cleaning materials, the next morning we complained also about the floor needing a clean and a light not working. the caravan was obviously not to the standard expected and old. I asked to be moved but not possible understandably due to the time of year/august. a maintenance man called to correct the light and clean the floor, with regards to the smell a cleaner called and acknowledged the awful sickly pungent smell and arranged for a machine to be set up in the caravan for a day to suck out any bacteria!! no access aloud during the day including our dog. . . we have stayed here before on two occasions and the caravans have been lovely now will think carefully before booking again. . very disappointed and not even any explanation or apology from management.
Yvonne from Cornwall (26 August 2017)

Very dirty caravan and had to go to reception 4 times to get them to sort the problems out
Gary from Didcot (26 August 2017)

Really quiet at night & very clean too. The only thing we think would improve the park is perhaps a bigger swimming pool.
Paula from Ash (26 August 2017)

The beds were uncomfortable for everyone. The lights in the master bedroom did not work. We were unable to use the pool when we wanted as the first couple of times we went it was full to capacity. After this the children didnt want to go back and try again later in the week
John from London (25 August 2017)

It was just okay, out of 4 there were 2 not really in good condition very small for 6 people
Syed from Luton (25 August 2017)

We were shocked by thrones bay as we have stayed at several park resorts before. The caravan was dirty and unequipped, the swimming pool filthy and tiny and the 'beach' is just seaweed and rocks.
Rebecca from Staffordshire (25 August 2017)

Caravan was lovely, could do with having a few more things on site to do as you have to be able to drive to go anywhere. Restaurant was ok, fish and chip shop.was horrible chips tasted like frozen chips and the children's cod was so dry with hardly any cod in it it was so hard it couldn't be eaten. Pool could do with a bit of doing up. But otherwise staff were lovely.
Rebecca from Southampton (21 August 2017)

Me and my family had a lovely time with all of you there and for shore we will stay here again .. very happy customers
Gavin from Bristol (21 August 2017)

Very happy with the location and views from the park. Clean and modern caravan.
Sophia (21 August 2017)

Lovely staff and site, however ruined by the state of the caravan, old , decrepit, no carpet, lights not working, cooker not working properly, should have been taken out of use, for over a thousand pounds it was not good enough. Swimming pool to small for the number of guests you have accessing it.
Kim from Stevenage (19 August 2017)

Lodge on arrival dirty, sheets . restaurant was dirty, pool was dirty.. would never go back.
Jacqui from Southampton (19 August 2017)

When we arrived we found the caravan totally unclean and the floor was cleaned using a dirty mop which smelled awful. The tv didn't work and the caravan was under an oak tree and acorns where falling on the roof throughout the night and even worse when it rained for 2 nights running. The lady's that came to clean the caravan where lovely the site was very nice and the shop was well stock with every needed. The staff where very helpful throughout our stay. It was just the first day and the 2 nights acorns on the roof.
Tom from Milton Keynes (18 August 2017)

It's was a great location. We didn't spend our days at the site as there was so much to go and see. The club was great in the evenings with good entertainment. Staff are lovely and friendly.
Rachel from Northampton (18 August 2017)

We really out stay at this site - perfect location for exploring the isle of wight. Great on-site facilities; we especially loved the fish and chip shop. The shop was well stocked, restaurant nice, beautiful bay and good entertainment. We would stay again and recommend.
Katie from West Sussex (18 August 2017)

Never again. We told them we had a disabled child on last minute just before we arrived we get a phone call telling us we are going to be moving to another home but they forgot the most important information we had told them previously before booking we have a disabled child . there was no disabled access and when I called the front desk they said they couldn't help as they are fully booked. We were left there for 3 days nobody called to see how we were coping with out disabled access. We did all the lifting and I have a bad back. Disgusting service and will let t standard and h advice breau. We had a horrible time.
Mr K from Central London (14 August 2017)

Good points was we arrived early just to check in and to our surprise the caravan was ready 3 hours early I need to lay down been up since 4.30am, also could not fault the staff they were so nice. . we stayed with you for 7 nights from the 7th aug to 14th aug in 24 oaklands on the first night stay we found the bedding to be very damp and by the morning we got up and the side of the bed was very wet the window was running with water the notice mould around the windows and wall. . we did pick basic accommodation but it is in need of up-dating and given a good airing. . . we had to use the spare duvet on the mattress with sheet over it as you could feel all the springs not very nice nights sleep. . we found the caravan clean on arrival and nice to see toilet paper something you don’t always get!. . thankfully we were 3 adults and one child of 15 so got used to leaving the windows open at night something you can’t really do with young children. . we understand the parks are geared towards the youngsters but we only found out of the 7 nights only 3 nights had adult entertainment 3 singers and two gentlemen comedians and a singer who was also the children’s entertainer I know you can’t please everyone but it put my 15 year old off going out for two nights shame really, would say entertainment very poor. . nothing for teenagers to do the pool is not big enough. . only used the pool once around the edge on the water level looked as if it needed a scrub as black lines put me off using it was better off swimming in the sea. . all 4 of us ate in the restaurant food very nice although took some time to come out. . this is not a site you would wish to say at 24/7 we spent a lot out time out and about in the car. . I would not stay at this park again!
Annette from Buckingham (14 August 2017)

Caravan clean after finally getting keys at 5.30. Food at restaurant ok when they had it in stock. Poor kids entertainment.
Brian from Essex (12 August 2017)

Over all we had a good holiday just a shame the site did not live up to the hype. No public transport linc's and this is not mentioned on the site brochure when booking .
David (12 August 2017)

The whole park was really great clean and tidy all staff were polite and very accommodating. Lots to do on site, will definitely holiday there again my children loved it.
Bridget from Gravesend Kent (12 August 2017)

We advised when booking we had a disabled person , we expected a few slopes as this was advised, but we were given a van at the top of a slope with a dip to the van , surrounding lights didn't work so could hardly see , entertainment was for kids , adults had to wait till gone 10pm , however site was clean and the beach not far , too far for our disabled guest as no proper path , did we enjoy our stay yes , could things of been made easier yes , but our needs which were advised were ignored "shame" sorry but for us we wouldn't go back.
Keith from Amersham (12 August 2017)

It was good and memorable holidays . beach was very close from place, indoor swimming pool was great where my little one enjoyed too much. We had problem for heating in our caravan so we called to reception and they sent someone to look as per our time schedule and resolved the problem immediately so overall great holiday and will go difinetely again
Kaushal from Sudbury Town, Wembley (11 August 2017)

The caravan we had wasn't very clean and it was situated on bad uneven ground so couldn't really play any games outside . the amusement arcades could be updated abit . the swimming pool was very dirty . the play area for the kids was great . unfortunately the surrounding area to where we were staying was a bit of a let down
Depash from Hastings (11 August 2017)

Clean accommodation and the entertainment was good
Olu from Swindon (11 August 2017)

We were happy with the accommodation and the staff. It was very easy to get to our caravan and it was a relaxed atmosphere. The only thing that we felt wasn't good was the times that the kids could use the swimming pool, that was very limited.
Adam (11 August 2017)

The site was lovely the swimming pool was great for the kids all was brilliant the only let down was the caravan!
Kelly (11 August 2017)

Caravan was tidy although there was no parking near to my stay ,the road is narrow so can't park there.so I have to park away from my caravan .
Biju (07 August 2017)

No light on one room, not really clean caravan
Customer 70 from Leicester (07 August 2017)

Great holiday , unfortunately the 1st van we were given was poor, the van smelt of damp and the bathroom floor had gone under the toilet. They moved us to another which was much better but the bathroom floor had gone just by the shower. We never mentioned this as moving again would be a pain. But if we had they would have moved us again i’m sure. Overall the van was better though.
Ray from London (07 August 2017)

Campsite and caravan were clean and tidy . we ate on the site for the duration of our stay and never had a bad experience. The staff in all areas were always polite . would definitely recommend thorness bay .
Darren (07 August 2017)

The camp was ok but no where near as good as havens. We turned up in the pouring rain. No one told us we didn't have a parking space. We should have been informed of this at booking. It was very difficult unloading a car with 2 young children in the rain when you're no where near your caravan. . . we also paid £15 for a travel cot. This was not in our room. So we had to drive all the way back to reception with a very tired baby to find out what had happened. It should not be difficult to put a cot in a caravan when ordered well in advance. . in all your shops none of the debit card machines worked properly. Your staff said it had been that way for quite some time since a bad storm. Then fix it! the queues to pay with anything other than cash were horrendous
Caroline from Braintree (05 August 2017)

Good location, nice bay but no beach. accommodation was basic but nice. Entertainment was poor. Indoor pool was small but nice. views of the bay from boat house restaurant was beautiful. Overall ok place to use are a base.
Martyn from Swansea (04 August 2017)

The caravan we stayed in was lovely, really modern and clean and in a nice quiet spot, however I wasn't very impressed with the parking near to the caravan, I had quite a long walk with cases and food etc to and from the caravan and car. I was on my own with my young son so it was quite a work up. The facilities on the park were very good, large outdoor area for kids, arcade, restaurant and club. However the service in the restaurant was not very good, one evening we waited for nearly 2 hours for our food. When the food actually came it was very nice but there were always lots of old plates and glasses on most of the tables. The surrounding area beyond the park, although very scenic was quite isolated, you definitely need a car here. I have stayed in other parts of the island and have always gone without my car but you definitely need one here. The caravan we hired was very good value for money.
Wendy from Southampton (04 August 2017)

The setting of park is beautiful and the upkeep of the outside areas is done well, but i'm afraid the public areas such as restaurant/bar, pool and club house where not great. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired, the toilets in the clubhouse where especially dirty. We only ate once in the bar and used the pool once. . the onsite shop closes at 8pm and because of where the park is situated you are too far to the next shop. . there does seem to what looked like a bar next to the reception area but we never found it to be open. The staff although wasn't ever rude they did seem to be just going through the motions. We did go to the club house twice but both times seemed very under staffed, all tables full of glasses and just dirty if being honest. To use as a base then the park its self is good but not if your planning to spend your evenings here.
Michelle from Lincolnshire (04 August 2017)

My in laws offered to babysit so we could go out to the restaurant and club on the tuesday night, we left our caravan at about 8pm and when I went to the bar to order the food I was told that there was a 2 1/2 hour wait for food (at 8:30 in the evening!) so we left and decided we would try the on site fish and chip shop, only to find that even in high season it does not open on tuesday and thursday night! . after speaking to several others this was their experience as well. . could be a good site if it was better staffed and modernised.
Ian from Tadley, Hampshire (04 August 2017)

Great caravan. Great children parks and access to shingle beach. Poor conditions of the indoor swimming pool. Water was cloudy and paint peeling off floor of swimming pool. Swimming pool and area needs a refurbishment. Good childrens entertainment however repeatative every night. Caravan park was clean and tidy and grounds tidy howver signs alittle confusing and seem to face one direction. On site shop stocked well but too expensive compared to other caravan parks we have stayed on.
Hannah (04 August 2017)

Park was ideally situated so close to coast. very disappointed in age of holiday home though. one of the smallest and oldest homes we have ever had. mattress on double bed extremely uncomfortable.
Marilyn from Clacton On Sea (04 August 2017)

This was our first caravan holiday and we loved every minute of it! the caravan was spacious, clean and was equipped with all the basics we needed. Thorness bay is beautiful and there was plenty for our young family to do on site. The staff at the park were so friendly and helpful and we didn't want to leave! highly recommended!
Rosie from Kingston Upon Thames (31 July 2017)

I don't want to sound too negative - we did have a good time, but it doesn't compare to haven. we've stayed with them probably 20 of the last 25 years, but they don't have a site on the isle of wight. . our stay with you was ok, but included some notably frustrating elements, which began right at the very start of the booking; your website allows 7 night stays and 3 night stays, but not 10 nights stays, so I couldn't book online. I phoned up and the lady eventually sorted it, but I had to pay 2 lots of cancelation insurances fees, etc. . . when we arrived (early evening) reception had closed and the sign said to collect keys from the main centre (no directions). check-in was being dealt with by an, already busy, member of security. They showed us the position of our caravan on a map (#40 bluebel) but if wad frustratingly difficult to find. . the caravan was ok, not as good as we've had with haven, but acceptable. It was described as 'formerly gold', but it was never a gold - quite basic, lacking storage, and not a single hook or cushion, etc. The grass around it was in poor condition, had the remains of some kind of impromptu ex-flower bed, the grass was also covered in dozens of cigarette butts (i am not exaggerating). . we paid for wifi at the caravan, but it never worked properly. We complained to the girl on reception who said it was a private company and nothing to do with the site (obviously it was, or at least they were sub-contracted by you), but she gave us a phone number which we called. They suggested a few things, but they made no difference and we didn't pursue the matter as it was just too frustrating. . . food in the restaurant was average, at best. Service was slow and there were mistakes on our order on both the occasions that we ate there. The swimming pool and games area were disapointingly small. . one of the main reasons we chose this site was that it had its own beach, but the pebbles/rocky reality was a real disappointment. . all in all we enjoyed ourselves, but i'm afraid we won't be back; no offence, but haven just do it better.
Alan from Parkend (31 July 2017)

Ok gorgeous the price , but chairs were missing for table and told not to park car by caravan yet some people were ???
Michael from Dartford (31 July 2017)

Had exclent time
Susan from Glostershire (31 July 2017)

We as a family were quite disappointed with our accommodation, we had to wait quite a while for the caravan as not ready, the weather wasn't great so had to entertain a 5 year old in the car! once allowed in the caravan, what greeted us was quite disappointing! cigarette butts all around the door way, broken glass on the sofa, not enough bedding for the number of guests, shower didn't work (had to buy a shower head) floors were really quite filthy, dried mud and sweet wrappers under under the beds!i could go on.. house keeping were promt in coming to amend the bedding shortage and claimed that management check all caravans once cleaned...find this somewhat hard to believe! despite this and the shower dodging we had a good holiday.
Paula from Mayfield (29 July 2017)

Clean and tidy caravan only one restaurant on site
Marion from Lee On Solent (29 July 2017)

Nice park but found it needs a bus service as had to drive everywhere. Entertainment not brilliant. 2 light bulbs missing in chalet.
Trevor from Redditch (29 July 2017)

Our caravan hadn't been cleaned properly, and was looking old with broken window latches. The shop was poorly stocked, as was the store in the clubhouse. We won't be going back to this site.
Peter from Gloucestershire (29 July 2017)

I was not impressed with the state of the caravan windows were filthy not all beds made up complained new linen dropped off into the mud oven button not working when moved the seats by the table full of food so not been cleaned at all clothing found under one of the beds considering the amount we paid for the week I was not impressed there didn't seem a lot for kids to do and couldn't get in the swimming pool until late
Audrey from Suffolk (29 July 2017)

We had a lovely relaxing time while we stayed at thorness bay. It was quiet and very restful. Having the indoor pool was a life saver when the weather was wet. Looking to book again for next year
Mark from Pirton (29 July 2017)

The chalet was awful and massively overpriced for the week, it was dated, the furniture was old and it was in need of decoration. The outside was an awful brown colour that was fading, the approach was muddy and I expected a lot more than for my money. The camp in general was ok but when the power went one afternoon I tried to call reception for over half an hour with no success, eventually I walked in the rain to reception only to find 4 members of staff and not one asked if they could help. I wouldn't go here again because of this and the value for money, i've stayed on much cheaper, much better sites. The swimming pool was filthy around the edges and the lifeguards spent most of their time simply chatting to each other.
Melvyn from Basingstoke (28 July 2017)

Ok but bathroom needed better ventilation.
Joanne (28 July 2017)

The caravan was comfortable, it didn't seem to have been cleaned recently. there were several spider webs and the crockery and cutlery needed further easing.
Annah from Hertfordshire (28 July 2017)

The family thouroughly enjoyed their stay . the only criticism if only a minor one is that the pool could be larger considering the size of the park
Alan from Crawley (28 July 2017)

Excellent rest and recovery, although pity about some people who stayed there, thought they were at butlins, and had no consideration for other clients.
Nick from Dunstable (28 July 2017)

Arrived a accommodation and it was very dirty inside had to clean it our selves informed the staff and they told me they would look in to it but nothing was done. We was put so far away from the entertainment complex we was unable to get wi-fi.
Lucas from Rochester (22 July 2017)

Excellent
Manish from Leicester (17 July 2017)

Good
Michele from Fairbourne Gwynedd (15 July 2017)

Site was good but restaurant and bar needed more staff long waits and no gluten free menu available. Just given a big book to look through at which point I left and found a pub with lots of menu options. Shop was very good and prices fair. Entertainment was ok too
Patrica from Telford (14 July 2017)

Had a great time . weather was great so that helped . very dog friendly . chalet could have been cleaner . tissue and sweet papers left under bed . dead flies on window ledge . the cleanseness was the onlt thing that needs improving
Garry from Southampton (10 July 2017)

Caravan was dirty. But was throughly cleaned after we had complained. Entertainment was brilliant for younger children, however with there not being anything for the older children we found they wanted to spend time with us playing cards and games so good family time.
Charlotte from Colchestet (08 July 2017)

Great location with plenty to do on sight caravan was a little tired but very clean apart from rubbish left in bin from previous occupants.
Jennifer from Southampton (07 July 2017)

If you are going fishing it is prefect a 2 minute walk and your at the bay and to get bait go to bait station 5 minute drive
Graeme from Salisbury (07 July 2017)

My only complaint is about the fish @ chip shop not opening when it was supposed to.
Kevin from Exeter (01 July 2017)

Value for money and family outing
Maria from Peterborough (26 June 2017)

Quite nice rural/coastal setting, parts of the park are lovely, clean and tidy then you get the parts that are unkempt and litter strewn, including a pair of under pants/knickers on the walkway, cigarette butts a plenty. we saw litter pickers going around but no one came near the knickers on the path !!
Cindy from Lydd On Sea (26 June 2017)

Caravan was dirty and smelt of urine. The beds were made but the van hadn't been cleaned at all. . we arrived after reception had closed,so collected key from security. We spent the rest of the evening cleaning and deodorising the caravan. Did we complain next day, no as we thought that would be a waist of time. We have had quite a few caravan holidays over the year's, this one takes the gold prize for being the worst one of all.
Colin (24 June 2017)

Very good service and cleaning the the camp site very good
John from Watford (24 June 2017)

The site itself was beautiful. Very clean and tidy . the caravan was super, again very clean . the pool was rather small . the only ghink that lets this site down is ghe food from the restaurant . first night (monday), at least three items on the menu were unavailable . the ham, egg and chips was awful, packet ham and over cooked chips and then only two sweets available. . last night (thursday) even more items unavailable but wull say the burger was very nice. . tables always very sticky and also bar run out of couple of drinks
Chris from Sheerness (23 June 2017)

The site was nice and clean the restaurant was good value and food was nice the entertainment was ok for children not much adults plenty of things to do and visit of site the caravan was a bit dated for the money the mattress on the double bed was very uncomfortable and to many dogs
Pat from Stockport (17 June 2017)

The caravan was spotlessly clean but we were under trees so very little natural light and as the weather was not kind to us it was dark most of the time. No where to go for a drink that we could take our small dog with us as a lot of people left there dogs in there vans barking all night untythey returned after the entertainment . sadly we are responsible owners and also think of others around us .
Shirley from Leatherhead (12 June 2017)

Very clean site, short walk to beach,
Jackie from Peterborough (05 June 2017)

Thought the food prices were too high. And the fact ther is no free cash point is not good! the prizes the kids het for ther tickets is disgusting! 50 tickets 4 1 tiny sweet that cost ther parents 3 pound 2win that!
Karmel from Southampton (05 June 2017)

Awful experience first caravan wasn't fit for a dog the staff didn't have a clue the site needs updating.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (02 June 2017)

Enjoyed a long weekend with my grandchildren ideal place for them everything was good but prices of drinks was quite expensive.
Sheila from Dorsey (22 May 2017)

We were disappointed with swimming hours & a granddaughter who looked forward to an hour's cheerleading was very upset to get only 15minutes. Caravans were clean but one of the two very basic.
Mavis from Hinckley (22 May 2017)

We had a lovely holiday, but the caravan was dated and the position was under trees so hardly any light and definitely no view's
Lesley from Wolverhampton (19 May 2017)

Area was ok, caravan was quite old, heating didn't really work and couldn't park car near caravan. Shop was ok for a holiday park shop.
Paul from Southampton (13 May 2017)

I was disappointed that the caravan I booked redwing did not appear to be sited anywhere and I was not told why I did not have this caravan. I was however given an upgrade with was very nice if it had been cleaned properly which it was not. there was no toilet brush cleaner which was very inconvenient . we were invaded with ants and the times we called at reception 9.30am it was closed phoned to report incidents got no reply, bought own toilet brush holder, cleaning materials spent time cleaning plus bought ant powder as we were invaded with ants and dealt with problem ourselves. I found this such a disappointment because the caravan was lovely and the site and area was very scenic. this was out first break of this sort and not sure whether we would do so again.
Pauline (28 April 2017)

We have a chalet that looked terrible on the outside, but was renovated on the inside. It was super cheap for the bank holiday weekend, so I can't complain about the slightly poor finishing, but I don't need to live in it, so was fine. . entertainment was better than other holiday parks we've been to. . our chalet front windows wouldn't shut properly, which was odd, and would be cold in winter! plus people could see into our chalet very clearly from the road
Lucie from Woking (17 April 2017)

Great caravan but could have been cleaner inside. Very quiet and great kids activities, science experiments were brilliant.
Francoise from Slough (17 April 2017)

1stly we weren't told it wasn't hoseasons park it was parkdean. 2 weeks in to the session and there were out of stock on most things. We booked a caravan for 6 people but received bedding for 4 people. The caravan was very small. Only one night of the entertainment was good and thr raffle was misrepresented as they sold tickets with the promise of more u buy more prises but turn out to be one prize for one person
Kathy from Southampton (15 April 2017)

We around 3pm for our 4pm check in early and tried on the off-chance we could get in, our caravan wasn't ready so we went for a walk on the beach. The lady on reception offered to take my number and call when it was ready, I just said we'd come back at 4pm.. that is when the chaos started! . there was a crown of frustrated people in a function room waiting for keys. Very few people's caravans / chalets were ready and we were all just told to sit and wait and they would come and find us. 5pm I queued and tried again, there was clearly distress amongst the staff, none of which really knew what was going on, they were running to and fro from the function room to another office, coming back with updated print-outs of what accommodation was ready. It was clearly out of control and the staff couldn't really do much. Finally at 5:45pm we got our keys, an apology and a promise of a call from the manager, we went to out caravan and there were 2 guys cleaning it still! we didn't get in until after 6pm, there was bedding missing and it wasn't as clean as it should have been. There was no call and when I finally spoke to the manager 2 days later he apologised - they were short on cleaning staff - and he gave us a goodwill £30 voucher to spend in the restaurant/bar/shop. As a party of 2 adults and 4 kids that doesn't go far!. the goodwill token was appreciated but being late into our accommodation that still wasn't ready just shouldn't have happened. . besides that we had an enjoyable stay, the site is nice, clean and tidy, plenty of space, lots for the kids to do, very close to the beach and it was quiet..though the pool was rather on the cold side!!
Jon from Blandford Forum (14 April 2017)

Lovely views of the bay however beach access was to a pebble beach that was not suitable for building sandcastles for children. Lovely family beaches where about 30 minute drive away. Great caravan. Site was to far away from anything.
Steven from Letchworth Garden City (07 April 2017)

Staff were very friendly and helpful .
Joanne from Southampton (07 April 2017)

Lovely holiday park shame about food and service, no apology even after complaint - needs urgent attention in relation to this. I would recommend eating somewhere else or cooking yourself
Kim (07 April 2017)

We wernt that impressed with the site, shop very expensive, club and arcade too small, and hardly anything to do. Not really a family park. Disappointed.
Lindsey from Queenborough/Kent (04 June 2016)

We wouldn't stay there again the caravan was covered in ants. I was not keen on the site.
Louise from Manea (04 June 2016)

Nice, big caravan and not too expensive, compared to similar sites at the same time of year, but v cold! only one small heater in living room. The site facilities were okay, but a bit limited. Good food in restaurant though. The entertainment (esp kids entertainment) I thought could have been better thought through (e.g. Why have kids story time in the middle of their disco, followed by bingo that they can't participate in, followed by more kids entertainment by which time it's getting late and they're tired?!). activities were limited, many had a charge (and felt you didn't get much for your money) and they would have benefited from having a bit of a 'makeover' . all in all, holiday was fine, and provided reasonable value for money, but not sure we'll be hurrying back.
Katherine from Hants (03 June 2016)

The caravan was ok, evening entertainment for kids was good, the restaurant/ bar was lacking in staff and waiting times for food was a joke, their takeaway service was the worst ever and i'm convinced it made me violently sick one night.
Jeanette from Canterbury (30 May 2016)

The caravan was very out dated and old fashion would not recommend a bronze caravan
Sharon (30 May 2016)

Just a shame ferry to expensive to cross to isle of wight. Beach not very nice.. too dirty. Good facilities.. kids loved swiming pool. Overall very good holidays
Jorge from Christchurch (30 May 2016)

We stayed only for two nights after booking a spur of the moment like da thing. But the kids didn't want to leave!! they loved the entertainment and we all admitted the staff were great especially the madness and mayhem theme the kids had a whale of a time and we will defiantly be coming back again
Midge from Portsmouth (16 May 2016)

Had a lovely time at thorness bay. Will be booking to come back soon. Kids loved it.
Hayley from Sevenoaks Kent (16 May 2016)

We had a lovely family holiday 10/10
Stephen from Nottingham (15 April 2016)

Nice van in quiet location. Pool nice and warm but a little small. Grandchildren loved the four night break. Wouid certainly go again,
James from Kings Lynn (08 April 2016)

Not much to do, arcades very small, entertainment same every night. Restaurant very busy takes up to an hour to get food. Swimming pool not open long enough and shop shuts at 6pm
Kelly (30 October 2015)

Very clean caravan on arrival. very nice standard of caravan. We went half board, the food was excellent but the service was poor due to the huge demand of half term. However we complained to customer service and the response was first class, totally resolved and you couldn't ask for nicer friendlier staff.

It was a nice area. Facilities were ok but as it was near the end of the season the shop was running down its supplies and painting was going on in the breakfast area which was a little unpleasant. The staff were friendly but the reception staff dont do anything about any complaints.

Caravan was very comfortable and the problem we had with the curtains was dealt with very swiftly, also someone came out in half an hour as we were unable to light the gas fire. as it was off season we did not expect much in the way of entertainment, but there was a full evenings entertainment every evening including bingo, quizzes, retro game shows and live music. a very pleasant short break with our little dog. We also thought the bar prices were very reasonable.

We stayed in a gold2 caravan and used it as a base for rediscovering the isle of wight. The caravan was immaculately clean and warm when we put the heating on at night. The park seemed clean and staff very helpful. We only used the shop, not the pool, but were happy with everything.
Tracey from Princes Risborough (28 September 2015)

Had a really good holiday couldn't fault it at all will be going again
Karen from Newhaven (28 September 2015)

Excellent base for a holiday staff friendly although very precise on check in times . swimming pool needs a bit of work and updating but apart from that lodge spotless

Not what we expected, not set up really for disabled persons, had to use our car to get my husband down to the bar and entertainment area,i could walk down in 4 mins but my husband couldn't. The bungalow we had was rather far back and couldn't use the wheel chair as pathways not wide enough. we went to the entertainments centre on two nights we decided to pay and play for bingo, all told how much the winnings were and was a good pay out, but half way through the game on the first card they said they had lost contact with the main centre and that prizes would be altered, yet the same voice carried on giving the numbers out. This happened twice sat and sunday. Not very good . seemed to be a con. . as you need a car to get anywhere would not go again.
