Was good place to stay. Beach ok was not for little ones
Stephanie from Cambs (20 June 2015)

Chalet was tired and smelt of damp. It served its purpose as was better than camping at a festival but certainly not acceptable for a holiday
Laura from Bracklry (15 June 2015)

Great holiday, location near to everything. Long waiting times for food-very slow and food over priced. However accommodation was clean and spacious, no complaints. Would recommend this park.
Rhonda from Hampshire (30 May 2015)

Ideal location, plenty of activities and open space for the kids. easy walk to the beach and a very nice family friendly swimming pool. Extremely friendly staff in the camp shop.
Jakki from Feltham (29 May 2015)

Lovely friendly site.
Dirk from Wimbledon, London (29 May 2015)

Lovely site, friendly staff. We had a great time
Stephen from Essex (29 May 2015)

The purpose of the holiday was to take the grandchildren away for the week and they loved every minute.
Kevin from Whittlesey (29 May 2015)

Great!!!!!!!
Robin from Reading (25 May 2015)

Loved thorness bay, beautiful area. Food in restaurant very good, friendly staff. Would return.
Linda from Bexhill On Sea (22 May 2015)

Clean, comfy basic caravan. lovely location. Children loved play areas. good dog walking.
Alison from West Sussex (18 May 2015)

Normally like coming to thorness bay and have been many times before. But this time let me dowm, it all started when we first arrived and the caravam smelt of mould, we had to clean it before we could do anything to get rid of the smell. The food in the boathouse too dry and didnt taste nice. The only good thing was the staff were all friendly and helpful.
Andy from Banbury (11 May 2015)

The food and drink very dear went to local pubs
Keith (27 April 2015)

The caravan was disgusting! soiled toilets, cobwebs all over and the carpet and sofa was horrid, left straight away, there was no way I was putting my baby on that floor!
Lindsey (27 April 2015)

We had a great time at thorness bay. We have booked to go back
Donna from Spalding (24 April 2015)

Caravan ok
Carole (01 November 2014)

Well worn and poorly insulated and heated.
Stephen from Northampton (31 October 2014)

Was a little damp in the lounge but didn't complain was also a little noisey as caravan under a tree it was quite windy so had twigs etc falling onto the roof
Craig (20 October 2014)

The camp was steeper than expected, making parking very difficult.
Martin from Bexley (27 September 2014)

Caravan needed attension to numerous minor faults ,end of season//
Philip from Wells (22 September 2014)

Caravan was comfortable very good views not easy access
Ruby from Christchurch Dorset (12 September 2014)

We enjoyed our stay here and would go back.
Richard (06 September 2014)

First impression of our chalet wasn't great. a plain dark green box with breeze block surrounding. but inside we found everything we needed (bit of a tardis really)..parking was on the grass next to it and so that got muddy. there seemed to be accommodation squeezed in every direction but on our weekend 29/8/14 it wasn't crazy busy and so as it was fab weather sunbathed on the grass behind the chalet. the rural setting was great for the kids finding the nature trails and the tree swing. the swing park and sports pitches were also great for them. we could sit on bar terrace and watch them securely. evening entertainment was not for me, but again kids loved it. shop was handy and food in restaurant/bar was good (ate there 3 nights for eve meal) all staff were friendly and pool area although a little dated was clean and tidy. would go there again
Helen from Salisbury (01 September 2014)

The park was pretty and well set, it had lots of facilities but they weren't welcoming, we never used the pool because there was always something happening in it for example. Its a great location for touring from and well priced, but we found the park not that useful and the shop was more souvenir than supermarket.
Alan (01 September 2014)

The swimming pool was too small for the amount of caravans on site and being so small a band limit of 45 minutes was in place but only on second day as on our first day it was closed due to chlorine problems. We ended up not using it. The childrens park being overlooked by the restaurant/bar is a great idea but would be better if outdoor lighting could be inputted for the children to enjoy later in the evening. Arcades were very untidy and very small with half the machines not working and the prize cabinet empty on two visits but the staff advised it would be filled the next day. The 2p machines didn't have anywhere near enough prizes in for the children to win either and it was just left dirty. The door staff to the club were ok but not once checked our passes while we were there!!!.
Claire from Kent (01 September 2014)

Nice park, could only book bronze caravan.wouldreturn but not bronze.
Elaine from Brighton (01 September 2014)

We were extremely disappointed, our caravan was mouldy and grubby. The swimming pool was filthy. Staff (though not all) were slow, seemed to have a non caring attitude and more interested in their own conversations than what was going on around them.
Lucinda (01 September 2014)

Inadequate facilities for the size of this park queues for everything pool too small and next to restaurant pervading chlorine smell. Food cold after waiting an hour for it also not as ordered. Only 4 washing machines in launderette for entire site no facilities for adults and all entertainment except bingo aimed at 7-9 year olds up to 11pm. Entertainment staff untalented. Music played at deafening levels. Only 2 buses per week service this site taxis average £15 per journey. Beach area smells of sewage due to septic tank nearby. All communal areas filthy. rats abound at refuse/recycling areas no footpaths to walk around camp had to walk in the road one day there was no water on site due to a burst pipe so we were told when I called reception. No internet available at all despite their claims. Hated the place. Aviod this camp. Will never return to it!
Peter from Erith (30 August 2014)

Swimming pool not very good only allowed in for 45 mins and a bit two small
Sharon from Oxfordshire (30 August 2014)

Good place to use as a base but beach area was disappointing.
Altaf from Lichfield (25 August 2014)

Sorry but really feel let down. The caravan was un-clean and of poor quality for the money. Late night screeching of car tyres, drunken arguments outside the caravan, parents swearing at their children on the park. Pool was dirty.
William (25 August 2014)

The caravan was terrible for the price charged. It was our first holiday on the isle of wight and we do not think we would go back.
Anne from Stourbridge (23 August 2014)

Found bar area dirty and tired looking.
Graham (23 August 2014)

It was a good base. Our fridge was not working properly and we asked for it to be fixed said there was no ticket but supervisor could see it on the system this happened twice. Last day no water in the camp. Disgusting with children. No water in the shop
Carol from Hampshire (22 August 2014)

Carol from Hampshire (22 August 2014)

Fab time we had in isle of wight aug 2014.. we r so lucky to got a nearly a brand new caravan during our stay at thorness bay park. Staffs are so helpful and timely with our queries ! would definitely go back again !!!
Barani from Oxford (22 August 2014)

Awful accomodation, filthy beach, caravan dirty with basic cooking utensils missing, overall a total rip off and a complete dump of a place.
Owen from Dorset (16 August 2014)

Although the park and accommodation were lovely the facilities did let it down. Because the park is a drive away from the next town we feel the park could of benefited from a take away to take back to your accommodation and the restaurant could do with a refit and good clean.
Julie from Birmingham (16 August 2014)

Lovely setting, but a bit too far out for us. Caravan was spotless. Facilities excellent. Our only criticism was the amount of time we had to wait in the restaurant. The staff were efficient and friendly and the food was excellent value for money, but we had to queue for up to 25 minutes just to order the food and wait up to an hour for it to be served most evenings. It didn't seem to matter whether we went at 6 pm or 8.30 pm it was always the same. More staff please - if only to take the pressure off the already overworked staff you have!!!
Nikki from Coventry (15 August 2014)

Beach was dirty.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (11 August 2014)

Beach was dirty.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (11 August 2014)

A lovely park with good facilities. The staff were helpful and the small problem we had was dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Julie from Barnsley (09 August 2014)

For peak time prices the park was a let down. Not enough staff to cope with demand. Dirty and run down. Such a shame as location is fab.
Karen from Wiltshire (08 August 2014)

Swimming pool was very poor. It was crowded, small and the water was very cloudy. The floor was dirty. Not a pool to encourage children to go under water.
Kevin (02 August 2014)

Paid a lot of money for a gold pluse . but this was the most basic van we had ever stayed in. A lot wrong with the van for a new one took pictures. Went to go swimming on the park and it was closed four times out of the six times we wanted to use it ( children upset ). the best part . whiched saved the holiday was the good weather .
Lynette from Norfolk (02 August 2014)

My children and I very much love your resort, we have been 3 years running and will be booking for 2015 soon. . my only criticism is the standard of cleanliness of the outside of the caravans. First impressions count. I feel more attention should be given to removing the grim on the outside, especially windows. The inside was perfect by the way. . I am also a little concerned at the number of guests flirting with the speed limit. Is it 5mph or as stated by painted road signs 10mph, either way quite a few guests disregarded this. The safety of all guests especially children must be a top priority. I would suggest either beef up the security patrols and / or incorporate taffic calming infrastructure.
Darren from London (02 August 2014)

We enjoyed our holiday the only problem was that the swimming pool was closed several times while we were there and there was a noisy generator in the field right behind our caravan . the staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the entertainment.
Linda from Truro (01 August 2014)

Caravan was spotless and had a great position. All the staff were very helpful and polite - from the cleaning staff we met on last day to the restaurant staff, especially the poor bar man who was constantly rushed off feet taking food orders and serving the bar. we had 2 meals in restaurant and both were good portions and really tasty. Slightly disappointed by pool, have teenagers so wasn't really big/deep enough and first time we'd had to queue - again staff dealt with public really well. Beach also wasn't sandy - obviously not sites fault! . we had a great week and great weather.
Louisa from Chesham (01 August 2014)

The beach was slight disappointment..otherwise amazing place!!
Virpi from London (28 July 2014)

The lodge was in a good position as it was next to a field but disappointing as the entertainment was very poor. Nothing like we had at paignton last year, I wouldn't stay there again. Also there was no wifi which is advertised in brochure.
Rita from New Milton Hants (18 July 2014)

The lodge was in a good position as it was next to a field but disappointing as the entertainment was very poor. Nothing like we had at paignton last year, I wouldn't stay there again. Also there was no wifi which is advertised in brochure.
Rita from New Milton Hants (18 July 2014)

Position of our caravan was excellent, (on the flat ground) however the rest of the site was congested on different levels and we found the site difficult to negotiate around. the caravan was very clean but table covering split and lifting (this we reported) and curtains in lounge area were continually sliding off runway, (no curtain stops).
Desmond from Birmingham (07 July 2014)

A difficult place to find, mainly due to lack of road signs and the actual chalet was also hard to find once we were on the park.
Janet from Reading (04 July 2014)

A difficult place to find, mainly due to lack of road signs and the actual chalet was also hard to find once we were on the park.
Janet from Reading (04 July 2014)

When we arrived, there was no smoke alarm, no washing up bowl / plug, and no travel cot that we had ordered and paid for
Diana from Lincolnshire (21 June 2014)

Hema (21 April 2014)

A little bit remote, and the beach isn't great but as a base it ticked all the boxes.

Fantastic holiday at thorness bay - lovely facilities in a beautiful setting. Would definitely go back. We have stayed at many park resorts and this was one of the nicest. You will need a car to stay here though - it cant be reached by public transport. .

Charlotte from Kent (14 April 2014)

Parking was awful. we were next to a building site. we had to chase reception after six hours of reporting our boiler wouldn't work and asking for more pillows. the price was really low and the park's quality matched the price.
Colin from Maidstone (11 April 2014)

Colin from Maidstone (11 April 2014)

Chalet clean and tidy.staff cheerful friendly and extremely helpful.
Malcolm from Birmingham (13 September 2013)

Superb caravan we were given, fantastic views of the bay. Loved that it had different bars in the holiday park, we did go with a child but for those that dont nice that they have somewhere to sit and have a drink as well. Food was good value for money. Children's outside area was full of different equipment to play with. They had menus for the children which were also colouring pages, maybe should come with some crayons though. Luckily I had some with me. The fact that you can walk down to the bay is fantastic. We went down there a few times and it was a lovely view. The arcade was small but it did a good job on keeping me, my mother and the little one entertained. Partners was also happy as they had some footie matches on in the bar.
Becky from Birmingham (07 September 2013)

Lovely clean park, nice walk down to a lovely beach, staff were friendly bar staff would even give our young child a cup of iced water when asked. Our children aged 5, 7, and 8 loved the pool although it is only a fun pool and no good for serious swimming. Entertainment loved by the children and the prices in the bar and restaurant were quite reasonable

Lovely site, caravan spotless.
Mrs S from Stockton-On-Tees (06 June 2011)

I cannot think of any improvements which could be made, we had an excellent weekend and found staff to be very helpful and friendly, would not hesitate to holiday again in a Hoseasons Park. As mentioned everything was excellent and I could not fault the accommodation. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the kids loved it.
Mrs R from Woking (03 June 2011)

We stayed at the Thorness site on the Isle of Wight. Great location for visiting all sorts of places - Carisbrooke Castle was surprisingly good and only a few minutes drive, and we also had really good days out at Bembridge, The Needles and Alum Bay, Shanklin Chine and Ventnor. Great site for visitors with dogs as the beach to which you can walk from the site isn't restricted to non dog users in summer months, and there was a lovely Nature trail walk through the trees as well. Our caravan was small but clean and comfortable and we found a friendly dog friendly pub serving amazing food a short drive away in Shalfleet.
Mrs C from Sutton Coldfield (29 April 2011)

It was an excellent break for myself, partner and 2 year old child. We had a brilliant time and the entertainment was great, along with the food and the clean accommodation.
Miss G from Gravesend (22 April 2011)

Thorness Bay is an excellent caravan site. The complex has everything you need to have a fantastic break. Food was delicious and the people who worked there were friendly and very approachable. The Sparky Krew were brilliant with the kids. I would recommend this to any family looking for a fun, enjoyable holiday.
Mrs W from Ferndown (15 April 2011)

Thorness is a lovely site with good facilities and friendly staff - the high end static caravans are spacious, well equipped, and of a high standard and the site itself is close to the beach - a good base for visiting the rest of the Island.
Mr G from Swindon (01 April 2011)

The staff team was the highest standard we've seen at a holiday park. Not having children with us it was wonderful to see the team encourage and entertain the youngsters from early in the morning to the Sparky Krew Klub Show every evening. They then went on to perform 7 different shows for the adults. Their standard made the visiting acts have to lift their game. Well done to the team.
Mr B from Telford (18 September 2010)

We hope to return next year with other family members. Enjoyable week, campsite very pleasant, pleased on arrival. Location of campsite good for local travel. New campsite for the family this year but very pleased.
Mrs S from Plymouth (28 August 2010)

The bay was lovely with a sandy beach.
Miss L from Eastbourne (21 August 2010)

Good all round family entertainment in the evenings, lovely warm pool and lots of space to run around, my children loved it!
Mrs S from Nottingham (07 August 2010)

Had an enjoyable weeks stay.
Mr G from Basingstoke (07 August 2010)

We have already recommended this site to family as a good location to explore the Isle of Wight.
Mr B from Bexley (07 August 2010)

Isle of Wight is a lovely destination for a holiday, my son loved the sports courts at Thorness Bay.
Mrs J from St Ives (07 August 2010)

We stayed in Thorness Bay, in the Isle of Wight, The standard of accommodation was very high, the site was good with a good family vibe to it, ideal for families. The Isle of Wight has loads to offer also, which is fantastic but you would need your own transport to really take advantage of all the Isle has to offer. My kids want us to rebook already. ***** stars from us.
Mr E from Manchester (07 August 2010)

No traffic, no queues at the attractions, a ferry journey that breaks the monotony of driiving. Great places to eat, see and have fun and very friendly people. Our children will keep these good memories forever.
Ms B from Carshalton (24 July 2010)

Thorness Bay is a wonderful place to stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful, it's in a good location and it is very child friendly. Would definitely return!
Mrs L from London (23 July 2010)

Excellent value for money and good approach to the beach.
Mrs R from Ilford (14 April 2010)

Our caravan was very clean and near to all facilities on the park, the Team Stars were fab (Beanie, Luke & Flash). The beach is a short stroll away and the all weather pitch and adventure playground were great for the children and the nightlife is good for adults and especially the little ones.
Mrs L from Witney (07 April 2010)

Excellent value fun packed family holiday. Have booked with Hoseasons in the past but some years ago - was not disappointed. Every member of staff we came into contact with was friendly and helpful and the Entertainment staff were superb. Lots to do on site but also a perfect base to tour round the Isle of Wight and see the sights this beautiful Island has to offer. We've come away with a lot of happy memories and would definitely return. Thanks.
Mrs T from Chelmsford (06 April 2010)

We loved the park with its open spaces and view of the sea. We could enjoy a drink on the terrace and still watch the children in your lovely activity park. The swimming pool was great too!
Mrs L from Westbury (30 November 2009)

An excellent site, great location and wonderful views.
Mrs G from Ryde (11 November 2009)

A very good short break with our 3 grandchildren who had a great time. I would like to return.
Mr B from Lowestoft (06 September 2009)

Friendly staff, a lot of room between units, you do not feel on top of others. Easy walk to beach.
Mr M from Ashford (29 August 2009)

It was a fabulous, very good value, incredibly child friendly holiday. 2 adults and 3 kids, including a 4 month old baby, and all was very easy and straight forward.
Miss P from London (28 August 2009)

A safe family park for young children.
Mrs L from Westgate-On-Sea (25 August 2009)

I would recommend this park to others as the facilities were very good. The food in the restaurant was excellent and my three children had a ball!
Mr D from Barnet (21 August 2009)

A very clean park and excellent entertainment for the children. A lovely location and friendly staff made Thorness Bay a good holiday park for all the family.
Mr P from Colchester (02 August 2009)

This was our very first caravanning experience and it was great. The park was good, the pool was excellent and the on-site shop was reasonably priced and stocked a wide range of products. The caravan itself had everything we needed and we would be happy to stay here again and would recommend it.
Mr C from Hastings (03 July 2009)

The park and the facilities here are great, it is a great place to take the children and all ages are catered for. The woodland walk was great and when were stayed in May as the whole place was covered in a bed of bluebells. You do need a car to get about from this park, but the on site facilities cover most items you would need to buy.
Mrs O from Aylesbury (03 July 2009)

This is an excellent base for exploring the Isle of Wight, and the park has excellent facilities. The swimming pool and the sports pitches were great, and you can sit on the outside bar terrace watching the kids playing, or go to the entertainment in the club. Having been on Hoseasons holidays at least once every year for the last 10 years, I would say this is probably the best park overall we have been on - many thanks!
Mr E from Lichfield (29 June 2009)

The park was very clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful. It was in easy travelling distance from all tourist attractions and we would go back again as the kids loved it.
Mr B from Maidstone (27 June 2009)

A superb location. We have always loved the Isle of Wight, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Mr H from Braintree (18 June 2009)

I would recommend this holiday as it is just so easy to get to all the places you need to visit whilst on the island.
Miss L from London (16 June 2009)

It is exactly as shown in the brochure. The location on the Isle of Wight is ideal for easy travelling around and there are plenty of walks available without needing to use your car.
Mr H from Basingstoke (18 October 2008)

value for money, good location for the islands many exciting places to visit
Mrs D from Bournemouth (20 September 2008)

The Isle of Wight is a lovely location and this site is an excellent choice on the isle. It has great views overlooking Thorness bay, and a nice nature trail around the site and play area are great for kids.
Mrs B from Nottingham (20 September 2008)

What a great place to stay the view is great and the location makes a great touring base.
Mrs O from Aylesbury (20 September 2008)

lovely setting, great place for families.
Mr S from Gillingham (25 August 2008)

Great location for exploring the island, right on the beach and lots for the kids to do.
Mr S from Much Hadham (23 August 2008)

Great for kids.
Mr I from Staines (16 August 2008)

Staff very friendly, food was excellent, plenty for the kids to do, so we could have time to relax.
Mrs T from Leicester (09 August 2008)

The park was friendly clean and provided good food and coffee ,also entertainment. It was lovely to be near the bay , I wish that I took my wellies to walk in . Lovely place for all the family , close to local attractions.
Mrs C from Blandford Forum (09 August 2008)
