I would recommend this holiday because you're far enough away for it to be peaceful and have a good local pub, and feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but you're actually only a 5 mins drive to the main shops and park and ride. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful site to relax at I would certainly recommend the one at Acaster Malbis on the outskirts of York, the caravans are kept clean and tidy as is the site itself, there is only a launderette on site but then not everyone wants a noisy club house nearby. Yet it's less than ten minutes to the park and ride at Askham Bar which will have you in the centre of York again in about ten minutes, and the 24 hour Tesco store next to the park and ride is the biggest I have come across. Mount Pleasant Park was a wonderful surprise, more than living up to the brochure information. Mount Pleasant was what its name says 'pleasant', very quiet and relaxing, just a short drive from York and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
