Limefitt Park is a fantastic base for visiting various locations in the Lake District. The park itself has brilliant walks and views surrounding it. The park is only 10 minutess drive to the lake and Windermere. It is a very nice park, well kept and quiet, and if you have a dog there is a field for letting them off. Limefitt is a lovely park and our caravan was spotless. The park and the riverside were enjoyed by the children and the Haybarn Inn (on site) was enjoyed in the evening by the adults and children. Overall, our stay was excellent. We would come back and recommend the site to others. The one small way in which things could be improved would be to have a better choice of vegetarian meal in the bar (it wasn't possible to have either a salad or jacket potato in the evening and as a consequence there was only one meal that I could eat during the week.) We visited the Lakes in December as we love to see, experience, and get the best out of each season and what each has to offer. Being so close to Christmas and with all the snow around, turned the Lakes into a truly magical place and will be something the adults (big kids), and the three children in our party will always remember. Limefitt Park is very well run, situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is somewhere we want to visit again. The staff at the park couldn't have been more helpful, especially when our water pipes froze up. The facilities at Limefitt are really good, including the Public House - the food was excellent, even though we came out of season and the menu was slightly limited. All in all, we didn't want to go home and had a bad case of the blues as we drove off back down the Kirkstone pass. We will be back!!! Mr B from Northwich
