We have just returned from a four day break in the HUNTERS QUAY LODGES IN DUNOON, SCOTLAND. We had a fantastic time, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lodges were very clean and comfy with lots of beautiful scenery. We enjoyed a few shopping trips into Dunoon centre were again all the people were very welcoming. Plenty of breath taking scenery to enjoy. We enjoyed some lovely walks with plenty of wildlife to see. Thanks to all the staff at the Hunters Quay Holiday Village, we will be returning some time this year to see youa ll again. We have spent the last two Christmas' at Hunters Quay and have been very impressed by the standard of the facilities. My wife and i enjoyed a very relaxing week walking our dog through the woods and by the loch whilst our two grown up sons made full use of the leisure centre. Christmas week is very quiet so is a great opportunity to escape the madness, however i imagine that the summer months are much busier. After going on a summer holiday at Riviera Bay in Devon in the summer, I was never going to use Hoseasons again. It was filthy and the staff were unwelcoming and we ate in once to what was probably the worst eating out experience we have ever had. We went to Hunters Quay in Scotland in October to get over the shocking summer holiday and could not have had a better break. Dunoon was a relaxing and beautiful area. We had a seven year old girl with us and she loved it. There was lots to do for her. You can choose do simply do nothing or be more adventurous. Plenty of places to eat and a few of them even let us take the dog inside. If you have a dog there are plenty of scenic walks not too far away. The park is very clean a great place for your kids to have fun and for adults to have peace of mind the accommodation is second to none the site security is fabulous we had a scare in one of the lodges one night we heard a loud bang on the side of the lodge and it made us feel very unsettled i phoned the security and despite the heavy rain and the fact it was 2oclock in the morning the security man was at our lodge within five minutes to check the place out i have went to this particular site about seven times now and i never get tired of it. This park was absolutely fantastic and was a wonderful New Year holiday. To start off we booked this quite late, and could only have a caravan rather than a lodge, but the caravan was fantasic. It was extremely clean, had a good layout and was very hot - in Decemeber! The park put on a fantastic New Year's Eve party which was perfect, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The park had great amenities including a super bouncy castle, a huge 3 floor soft play area, fun sessions in the pool and craft times to keep children amused. The caravan was gorgeous! I had never stayed in a caravan before and was impressed by the standard - it had everything you needed. Loch Goilhead was beautiful and we hired a boat for 3 hours, went fishing off the boat and even took the dog along with us. You must visit a place called Pucks Glen, it is not very well advertised but we went on recommendation from one of the workers at Hunters Quay. It was a lovely walk that took us down the side of a fantastic waterfall. We went to Inverrary Jail which was also good and my husband, son and his friend went quad biking. Hunters Quay is situated within a beautiful location with scenic views over the Cowall peninsula. The parks entrance gives indication that the whole park is clean, spacious, well appointed and managed. We would recommend Hunters Quay to everyone. The park is immaculately kept, there are loads of things for the kids to do to keep them occupied, the leisure facilities are excellent and cleanliness is of a very high standard. The kids loved the "LASER HQ". Evening entertainment is very varied and will accommodate most people. The site was very relaxing and remarkably quiet considering the size of it and the amount of people going about. We hired a caravan for ourselves, our 2 kids and our dog. When my husband first said we could go to a caravan where we could take our dog along, I must admit I did panic because the thought of a "stinky doggie" caravan didn't appeal to me - I couldn't have been more wrong, the caravan was excellent. The kids even sent postcards telling people that "mum didn't even complain about the smell...surprisingly!". We will definitely make a trip back to Hunters Quay, we cannot fault a thing! It was great for the kids and adults alike. The pool is lovely and the short tennis, badminton and table tennis kept the kids amused. The park is spotless, and it is safe to let the kids go around on their bikes. Overall, a lovely, well kept and clean park. Our caravan was superb and very clean, the double bedroom had an ensuite WC and the main bathroom was very adequate with a lovely spacious and powerful shower. All the utilities were first class with a good sized oven, fridge, freezer, and a microwave should you need one. The TV had a few extra channels too. It was also lovely to have a table and chairs provided on the verandah of our caravan as we used it every night because of the good weather.
