We wanted a restful, peaceful holiday - and that is exactly what we got. It was our 2nd visit to Hillcroft Holiday Park and the exact same high standards were delivered on our 2nd visit as they were on our 1st. Excellent, we couldn't fault it! Miss T from Preston
The park is situated close to Pooley Bridge giving us easy access to the village amenities. It was great for walking from the door with Ullswater being so close. The staff in reception were really helpful on check in, and ever though we didn't need their help during our stay, I'm sure they would have catered for our every need. Miss M from Spalding
This park has only a few holiday caravans but is a lovely quiet and immaculate site. No improvement needed. Mr G from Lowestoft
I would recommend this holiday as the park is kept lovely and quiet, the caravans are nice and new, it is only 10 minutes walk from Pooley Bridge and it is very central. Mrs E from Peterlee

Our holiday was from 21st the 25th of September, wish we had booked longer now, it was perfect, fantastic location, beautiful surroundings, friendly park staff, caravan that looked like it had never been used ever! We will be back and will be asking for the same caravan.John and Ange Bird, York Mr B from York
The caravan was excellent, so was the site and very well maintained, only 10 mins. walk into Pooley Bridge and the steamer round the lake, very good holiday would come back. Mrs P from Sheffield

The location was perfect, within walking distance to the village, yet very peaceful. The standard of accommodation was superb and our caravan in particular was immaculate. My young son was able to play out safely and made lots of friends. Mrs M from Cardiff
Hillcroft was fantastic! The park is very new, in a lovely location and very quiet and peaceful. The caravan was very high quality and the welcome was great with lovely staff who were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly recommend this park and we will definitely be returning. Mrs H from Warrington
It was fantastic and we loved every second - from waking to crows in the nearby trees to sitting on the balcony watching stars at night! Mr B from York
Hillcroft was just lovely. We stopped in a very high quality caravan with a lovely decking area in the very peaceful setting amongst the fields and hills. We were surprised we were given such a new caravan due to us bringing our dog, which made a lovely change from other parks we've stayed in where you are given the older caravans if you bring a dog. The park was a 10 minute walk from Pooley Bridge village centre that had plenty of friendly pubs, shops and tea rooms. A great starting point for many of the fell and lakeside walks and Ullswater Steamer pier. Just a 10 minute drive from Penrith Junstion 40 off M6 so really easy to get to and other places to visit while you're there. Highly recommended and we will definitley be returning. Mrs H from Warrington
The park was set in a lovely location, was beautifully clean and tidy and most of all, nice and quiet and it felt private. Ideal for couples with a young family. Miss H from Stanley
An exceptionally clean caravan park with the added luxury of each caravan having its own private decking with table umbrella and chairs, ideal for eating al fresco or that relaxing evening drink. The site is very very quiet, ideal for a relaxing holiday. The caravans are all new and exceptionally clean, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.Ideal location for that leisurely cruise along Lake Ullswater, short walk to Pooley Bridge which is a very quaint village, with a few shops and public houses and hotels. Caravan park is near Penrith which has excellent choices for shopping and groceries.Close to A66 which is one of the main routes to most of the tourist attractions. Mr K from Bonnyrigg
Hillcroft is a fantastic park and the views are spectacular. It was quiet and very safe for the young children we had with us, we were well accommodated and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Mr H
The area is clean and well maintained and there is an excellent playground for young children. It is only a 10 minute drive from the A66, which is a good place for a brief stopover. Mr B from Glasgow
I would highly recommend this park to anyone who wants a peaceful holiday. It was immaculately kept and the the caravans were spotless. It was a definite "home from home" and we shall definitely be returning! Miss T from Preston
We have just returned from enjoyable 3 night stay at Hillcroft. Thought we had been allocated the wrong caravan at first because it was brand new (labels still on everything) with a lovely decking area with outdoor seating. An immaculate park with friendly staff, very quiet but with a good shop. Only 200 yards from the village centre where good quality pubs outnumber the shops. Lake and steamers are within easy walking distance. Mr H from Bury
Lovely quiet site in an ideal location just 10 min walk from village. The owners are friendly and helpful and accommodation was great, would definitely visit again Ms W from Morpeth
We have just had a good week in the Northern Lakes basing ourselves at this excellent park at Pooley Bridge. The village has a decent village shop, three pubs, one traditional "The Sun", and two more catering for sports fans (live football) the Pooley Bridge Inn and the Castle both good for beer. The Sun is good for food - medium price but good quality and friendly. The caravan was more spacious than we expected and was well provided, the heating worked well as we needed this on the cold mornmings, but it retained the heat well. There is a little shop on site for basics, but it is only a 5 minute walk into Pooley Bridge. The Steamer down Ullswater (throughout the year) enables you to walk back from the far end or middle (if you can manage a 3.5 hour walk form Howtown), well worth it - or just get a return and visit Patterdale and Glenridding. The people running the park are also helpful and welcoming. We were luckly with the weather, cool but bright - the views were spectacular with still pockets of snow on the tops. I would recommmend seeing the Osprey's (now nesting) at Dodds Wood near Kendal, there are plenty of telescopes, the higher site is worth the walk on an easy but steady incline for 25 minutes. You can see lots of Red Deer above Hartsop if you look closely, and we even got a glimpse of a Golden Eagle here! My son and I did a half day Gyhll Scrambling in the Kirkstone Pass, just 25 minutes away by car with Iain Gallagher of kendalmountaineeringservices.co.uk which was great fun, despite the water being fairly low. He lives locally and knows the whole Lake District area well. A good, relaxing but physical week. If you want to just walk out of the door and explore, this is a really good park to do that from. Mr P from Newbury
Excellent welcome at reception, really friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful site with fantastic views, location was ideal, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. I would recommend the Pooley Bridge site, lovely holiday!!! Mrs D from Denbigh
The park was lovely, good location, 1st class accommodation and the friendly staff where fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone and we will stay there again. Miss T from Sheffield
It is in a wonderful location, close to a pretty village with a lovely atmosphere. Mrs W from Taunton
We visited out of season, so not busy, nice and quiet. Good accommodation on a well kept park in an excellent position near the lake. Easy walk to village and easy walks in surrounding area. A good base for touring the lakes. Mrs L from Farnborough
We enjoyed it so much the first time we went back for another go and enjoyed it more! Superb surroundings and a lovely part of the country. Mr B from York
We have just returned from an excellent week in the Lakes. We stayed in a lodge at Hillcroft Holiday park which we only booked a few weeks ago for the Spring Bank Holiday. The lodge was fantastic, new and clean, and the atmosphere at the park was just what we needed - relaxed, easy going and we will certainly be booking again. The kids loved the adventure playground and couldn't wait to go and play there, even after we'd dragged them on a 6 mile hike! We walked into the village most nights to the local pubs to sample the local food and beverages - The Sun was particularly good for food, all three served good hand pulled ales. We took a boat trip to Glenridding on the Ullswater Steamer which gave an opportunity to see the fantastic scenery. We also went to Aira Force waterfalls which are about 6 miles away - unfortunately the week passed far too quick! Mr I from Huddersfield
Great holiday, fabulous accommodation in a great location. Ms C from Wirral
Thought the accommodation was fantastic and Derek and his wife who run it were really friendly and helpful. I would definitely return again and would recommend it to others. Mrs B from Leicester
Brilliant site, we went as a family with 2 teenagers and it was a totally relaxing holiday, to chill out just before exams start- and it really worked no mention of exams all week-great- just what the doctor ordered!!!! Excellent lodge, brand new, can't wait to go back soon. Mrs S from Huntingdon
Brilliant location and lovely caravan. Ms H from Stockport
