I would highly recommend Finlake. There was so much to do for ourselves and our 2 children aged 5 and 7, both in and around the park, that one week didn't feel like long enough and we wished we could stay longer. You could bring your own equipment and use the tennis courts for free, or hire raquets etc from the park at a small cost. Pitch and putt again, just cost the hire of the equipment (£3.50), the two pools were free as was all the evening entertainment. There was horse riding a short walk away, again at a very reasonable price. We ate at the park twice and the food was very good - especially the chinese buffet! The cycle routes nearby in Haddon Forest were excellent for all age groups, then of course there was always the beaches - if you had time to fit them in! You could not get a better location for a holiday. A few minutes drive had you either dipping your toes in the sea at Torquay or walking the beautiful moors. The park had everything to make your stay relaxing and stress free. Kids were kept entertained in one of the 2 pools or the tennis courts, and the golf course was used every morning by Dad and the boys giving Mum a well earned rest. What an excellent holiday park. We took advantage of the tennis courts, swimming pools, golf and our own personal sauna. From the moment we arrived at Finlake we were very impressed. The park is in an excellent location close to road links and attractions, yet is quiet and secluded. Our lodge was a two storey chalet, spotlessly clean and with all amenities. The welcome from the staff was lovely. Each day we were made to feel special and welcome by everyone from the security guard to the waiter, the shop staff and the lifeguards. The whole area is very interesting, the park is in an excellent position near the A38 Devon Expressway, however you cannot hear the traffic at all! These beautiful lodges are positioned on a clean, safe and picturesque park. There's a good balance of being able to relax on park with the benefit of a selection of good attractions and coastal resorts nearby. River Dart Adventure Park is recommendable and mountain biking through Haldon Forrest. The best sandy beaches can be found at Bigbury on Sea and Goodrington Sands. Have been to Finlake twice now, a family of 2 adults, 2 children (9 & 10) stayed in the lodge, found it a fabulous alternative to the mobile homes. Location is brilliant for exploring Dartmoor and yet very close to the beaches, Teignmouth was only a 10 mile ride away. Such a wonderful feel to Finlake, beautiful looking lodges far reaching into the hillside, with loads to do for a family. There are indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness centre, tennis courts, play areas, and amazing forest walks. If like us, you prefer a quieter holiday, then this setting is perfect too. We stayed in a Woodland Premier 6 Lodge and had a fantastic break. The weather wasn't the best, but as the lodge was double glazed and heated throughout it wasn't a a problem. The lodge was very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The kitchen had a fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer and dishwasher which were all very welcome. A brilliant park, ideal for families and couples alike. There is a large range of accommodation to suit all tastes and prices. The lodges are very spaced apart so you have a lot of privacy, and the setting in the woods was ideal and there were lots of footpaths, great for cycles and pushchairs. There was a nice bar and restaurant, ideal for refreshments and good value meals, and the fact that you can take children in makes it ideal for families. The bar area had ample of space and a very well stocked bar, (the hot chocolate they served was amazing), and the staff there were very friendly. There were lots of places to visit, although there was plenty to do on site. Finlake is in a great location with leisure parks, zoo's and beaches around you. We stayed in a lodge and had a hot tub - the lodge was brilliant and well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and central heating. Our family had a great weekend at Finlake. The staff on reception were excellent and very helpful, making us feel welcome. On entering our accommodation it was that clean and fresh it made us feel like we were the first people to use it - a real credit to the cleaners! The hot tub was fab and checked daily, and the kids didn't want to get out of it. The entertainment for the kids was fab, and the bar staff were very friendly. Finlake was a brilliant location, with lots to do on site (even in November). We enjoyed our woodland walk with our toddler, who was also very impressed with the playpark. We didnt get to use the indoor pool as we all had colds, which was a shame as that was part of the original appeal. I can see that in the summer this would also be an amazing place to visit. What a wonderful place, and all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The park is lovely and clean and there is plenty to do. Don't let our British weather put you off the idea of holidaying in Devon, we encountered many days of rain during our week yet we still managed to have a fun packed holiday. A big plus was the hot tub, we used it every day come rain or shine. The accommodation was excellent, packed with lots of little things that you wouldn't normally find in a holiday let, like books, board games, DVDs and a flat screen TV. The quality of food in the retreat bar/restaurant was fantastic and good value for money. A recommended day out is "Go Ape" just up the road at Haldon Forest Park, it is not for the faint hearted but was tremendous fun and well worth the money. Would recommend this holiday, because the lodges are lovely with great beautiful views and are well spaced out in the lovely woodland forest. The hot tub was great, looking at the stars at night and the sauna and wet room are fantastic, giving all the family a very relaxing holiday feel. The on site excellent gym and golf course were a great hit with my older teenage boys. Plus there are various other activities. The on site bar/restaurant and swimming pool were both very clean and a pleasure to use. The added bonus is that there is now a shop on site (previously there was no shop, as stated on your website) providing local food with excellent homemade cakes etc. Also the other benefit are the nice towels and robes, plus the toilet rolls and tea/coffee/milk that was provided making the start of our holiday even more enjoyable.
