the site, setting & surroundings are excellent. All the staff were extremly helpful and very quck to assist. We stayed here at the beginning of June as a base to visit Drayton Manor as our 2 year old wanted to go to Thomas Land. We had a lovely weekend, and the park is beautiful with plenty for the kids to do. We are going back at the end of August and are really looking forward to it. Miss G from Leeds
A lovely relaxing break with plenty to do if we wanted it. Mrs P from St. Albans
I would recommend this site to anyone with children for the following reasons: the swimming pool complex is lovely and very well laid out and maintained. The grassy areas outside of the lodges are great for kids to play or ride bikes. The paths are great for cycling round and the woodland walk is lovely - although very muddy in April - take your wellies! The park is nice and level so not to hard to cycle round and there is an off road country path which loops at the the bottom of the park. The Little Monkeys play centre is fantastic - my 6 and 4 year old loved it and it was great for a rainy day. Eveything was brand new and spotless. You can also get a meal or snacks there. The games room, ping pong and mini golf is good for older children. The outdoor play area and football pitch is located nice and close to the beer garden so the kids can play while the grown ups have a drink. The lodge was well equipped and the kitchen big enough to make a family meal each evening. It was nice that we did not have to bring essentials such as washing up liquid, bin bags and dishwasher tablets. There are so many attractions to see in the area - we had great days out at the Heights of Abraham and also Carsington Reservoir. The week flew by and I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definately book to come again, and recommend to friends. Miss H from Leeds

This type of holiday is excellent if you are watching money like we were, we could have a couple of meals out if we wanted but also could cook in the lodge. We could go to the pub on the complex for a few drinks with no taxi fares back to the accommodation, and we could obviously have some drinks in the lodge too to save even more money. The holiday provided us with a much needed and relaxing break. Mr P from Hull

The younger adults and teenagers went off in groups to swim, play tennis or ride bikes. The older ones visited the coffee shop and played pool and table tennis. Mrs B from Bathgate
Our lodge at Darwin Forest Country Park proved to be ideal for our family of sevens March weekend break. It was a great holiday and the kids loved it! Mrs H from Stockport
Excellent value for money. Wonderful location. Lodges extremely comfortable. Mr C from Worksop
I booked this holiday to take my mother, two aunts and an uncle away for a relaxing family get-together. Three of them have mobility problems and use either sticks, crutches, or in mothers case a three wheeled walker. The accommodation was great, they especially appreciated the seperate shower cubicle, as opposed to just having a shower over a bath, which would have been impossible for two of them. They loved the woodland walks, which were accessible even with the walking restrictions they have. They loved the wildlife right outside the door and felt very proud of themselves for walking to the lovely on site shop every day for bread. We ate in the pub restaurant on site a couple of nights and the food was really good. Most of the time we spent time together in the comfortable lodge, eating, drinking and playing cards, scrabble etc. In the day we visited local towns to shop and browse, and everyone especially enjoyed going into Chesterfield, with its fantastic market. The staff on site could not have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Although a holiday in the Dales, may seem an unlikely choice for a bunch of elderly, mobility challenged folk, it was, in fact, brilliant. The amenities were just right, no stairs to bedrooms, no steep hills to climb, perfect for those of us who have a disability, but are not so disabled as to be unfortunate enough to actually be in a wheelchair. We have stayed here several times and intend to return again. Mrs H from Halesowen

The accommodation is great, especially the brand new chalets at the far end of the park. The swimming pool is excellent for keeping the children and adults happy and although we didn't use the pub, I'm sure having one on site is a great advantage. My family flew in from various parts of the world to help me celebrate my 40th birthday - and based on the excellent feedback, a good time was had by all. Thank you Hoseasons for your part in making my weekend so good! Mr T from Macclesfield
Great for the toddler with the pool and the soft play area, and great for my wife and I with the hot tub! Mr S from Hassocks

The pine lodges were brilliantly clean and excellently equipped. The surroundings were beautiful and it was a delight to get up in the mornings to see the many birds and squirrels parading just outside our lodge! It was very peaceful, yet near enough to explore the Peak District as much or as little as you liked. I would and have recommended this holiday to several people at work! Miss N from Coventry
Very peaceful and laid back. Has everything you need all on site. In beautiful surroundings. Miss W from Stoke-On-Trent
The location was very scenic located in woodlands ideal for walking, especially with dogs. You are only a few miles from the nearest town and easy distances to the attractions. The surrounding area is beautiful and the villages have loads of character. The lodge was modern, comfortable and very clean with all applicances included to use. The swimming pool was a reasonable size and the whole leisure complex was very clean, modern and a nice size. We recommended this park to family and friends as soon as we got back home. We loved the 'log cabin' and enjoyed taking our pet dog Sprocket with us. The cabin was a really good size for 2 adults and 1 medium sized dog and was very well thought out. We were really impressed to find wood flooring, so it was easy to clean after the wet dog with the cleaning equipment that was in cabin. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we are really looking forward to booking a weeks holiday next year! Mrs O from Swindon
