Our chalet was a great size but very damp, we had bluebottle flys daily, the plates, cups etc were dirty we had to wash everything before using, great views, great location. We should have complained day 1 but didn’t want the hassle
Alison (01 September 2018)

Very disappointing stay. Caravan was unclean and smelly! lots of mould and very basic.
Clare from Bath (01 September 2018)

We had a full on week, in a lovely chalet, with a view of the sea, and lots of nature, scenery and wildlife ! only downside was the stage in the restaurant, very noisy, and had to send my husband’s food back a couple of times.
Victoria from Horsham (01 September 2018)

The caravan was dirty and damp. reception staff were unhelpful and quite condescending. housekeeping did attend the caravan after complaint but by this time we had decided to leave due to damp conditions in the bedroom. facilities appeared tired and run down
Angie from Liverpool (27 August 2018)

Poor accomodation, damp. Windows running with condensation every morning making the curtains damp. . the shower room never dried out. . the single beds were like trying to sleep on a window ledge. . . overall condition of the caravan were shabby. . cooker, with a loose door, never worked properly, severe lack of cooking utensils. . fridge far to small for four adults and three children
Andrew (25 August 2018)

The staff and entertainment were brilliant. The location is lovely, the only thing that let it down was the accommodation. Our caravan was the most basic i've ever stopped in and very old. I also had to re-clean all the plates, cups, glasses, and cutlery as it all had dried food etc on it. I also had to clean down the bathroom before I let my family use it.
Naomi from Chesterfield (25 August 2018)

Arrived to a damp chalet, which only succeeded in making our beds wet. We endured this for two days then complained. The manager and maintenance staff agreed the bedding was wet from damp. We agreed to give them time to find alternative accommodation and change the sheets. Only place left was a small caravan on the far side of the site unsuitable for my wife who is disabled. We could not remain and left. Not what we paid for. No refund yet received even after the 7-10 day wait. This was a first family holiday with relatives who had travelled a long way including from spain. The children were heartbroken.
Duncan from Plymouth (25 August 2018)

Lovely part of the country. Lots to do in the surrounding area. A tad hilly but manageable.
Maria from Reading (25 August 2018)

The walland chalet that we hired was a good size for 8 people and 1dog, but we all thought it had damp in the bedrooms, clothes were cold and felt damp.
Gwyneth from Derby (24 August 2018)

Park was clean but the tumble driers were usually out of order - at one point all 4 - not good when the weather is poor! repoet to reception to be told nothibg to do with them - not really what you want to hear! accommodation was at very top of park so was nice and peaceful but lighting was inadequate when walking up after evening entertainment and it was actually quite dangerous as there was no footpath, so one or the other needs to be sorted. No separate footpaths through the park to facilities either. Only 2 showers for use at pool - sometimes both were not working. Went to exchange vouchers from arcade the morning we left but no one was able to assist so very upset son who didn't understand and thought he had done something wrong. Poorly cleaned caravan.
Kate from Camborne (24 August 2018)

Chalet very poor and dirty, it had to be recleaned when we arrived. Trying to eat our food with loud music was not enjoyable.
Donna from High Wycombe (24 August 2018)

The chalet we were staying in wasn't clean and it was tiny. The chalet was marketed as having enough space for 6 people. It was way too small. When we opened up the sofa bed, it was wet and there was old food in it.
Jessica from Bournemouth (20 August 2018)

It was good we had nice time next time try to come atlist for week ..
Uma from Wembley (20 August 2018)

Very nice location although a bit hilly! caravan was very nice and spacious. quiet. . we didn't get to use the on site facilities though.
Stella from Birmingham (18 August 2018)

The caravan site was good, staff and facilities excellent the caravan wasn’t the best we have had, it was the position of it, was shaded by the trees on the end of the row which gave the caravan a damp feeling and very noisey with branches hitting the roof, and curtains kept coming off the rails, but this was a last minute booking and all that was left. But it was ok for a base, as out most of time. But the site was great, very hilly.
Nicky from Dunstable, Bedfordshire (18 August 2018)

Every time we went to the clubhouse it was full. Too many people for the size of the facilities. Very hilly. Good access to other places.
Elaine from Bath (17 August 2018)

The caravan was fantastic and the site was very clean and in s beautiful place. Only let down was going to the club house for a meal on the first night, very very busy and meal wasn’t what we were expecting due to lack of communication between the kitchen and bar. Advice- go early for food at the restaurant and don’t purchase much from the onsite shop (way too expensive). otherwise great family place to stay
Jennifer from Sussex (17 August 2018)

Really enjoyed our break, club house a bit small but we only waited one night to get a seat for dinner , food was good , weather let us down but found plenty to do , so well done
Keith from Amersham (17 August 2018)

We loved it and going to book again for september. Staff were so friendly my children loved the entertainment
Hayley from Shepton Mallet (13 August 2018)

We stayed in lodge2 which was just lovely! I could live there it was just perfect. . our kids loved the kids disco and we stayed for the daytime kids activities when we had a rainy day which they also loved. It's not a massive park with the most facilities but it was perfect for us with two young children and had everything we needed including the indoor and outdoor pool. . I would happily return and would definitely stay in a lodge again.
Michelle from Chard (13 August 2018)

We had a lovely 2 week break with little to grumble about; the only things were that we felt the children dominated the entertainment most evenings - right up until it ended at midnight. The other thing was that on busy periods there is a time limit of 45 minutes on sessions in the outdoor pool; although this didn't occur in our stay it seems too short a period - especially as there are quite a few hours when one or other of the pools is closed for general swim.
Jenny from Medway, Kent (11 August 2018)

Caravan substandard
Joan from Leicester (11 August 2018)

The location of this park is nice and given it was august the park seemed quite quiet. The pools are clean but the indoor pool is very small so if it's raining, it gets full quick. The bar area wasn't too busy when trying to get drinks which was good. We didn't eat on the complex so can't comment on the food. The only disappointing thing was how hilly it is on the site. I did ask for a park not too hilly when booking as we had a relative with mobility problems. There are hills everywhere. Our chalet was up a big hill and there was a step hill leading to the shop so my relative couldn't walk to anywhere on the park without us taking the car. Definitely not recommended for people with walking issues. We really should have been warned before booking, seen as I told them. The bar even had stairs to get to the tiolets. We stayed in the walland chalet. Is was spacious and clean. A little outdated but it was ok. You can see the sea from the front windows.
Keri from Manchester (11 August 2018)

We had a fantastic stay..entertainment was great food is good and bar service very quick even at its busiest times..caravan had all we needed and was a comfortable stay..had to ring in the middle of the night for more bedding as little one was sick and they came within half hour with no trouble! very pleased with the whole stay...both kids and adults loved it will definitely return
Dave from East Sussex (11 August 2018)

Not a lot there to do if weather not good, only one eating place , no bank machine works, staff couldn’t cope with food orders ,
Maggie from Chesterfield (10 August 2018)

Ok I guess
Mark from Canterbury (10 August 2018)

The location of the holiday park was beautiful with an amazing view. We stayed in a standard chalet which was basic had everything we needed. Although the beds were quite uncomfortable and it had not been cleaned to a satisfactory standard when we checked in. E.g sand on the floor in bathroom. Carpets not hoovered, lots of webs spiders nests on windows outside. Other then that it was a nice chalet. The facilities of the park were great, the pools were clean and good size. The staff were very helpful. We enjoyed the bar/ evening entertainment. The entertainment staff were great with the kids. The outdoor play area was great and we enjoyed the mini golf. Overall great holiday!
Hannah from Kent (06 August 2018)

Holiday park location was great however the caravan was not at all like the pictures show on the website, the caravan was in need of desperate update - the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, could feel every spring! the duvet’s were lumpy and the interior was very basic - carpet clearly seen better days. We felt that we had paid too much money for the caravan, disappointing really. We probably wouldn’t come back based on our experience.
Stacey (04 August 2018)

Great overall. Was quite from from bideford itself , but westward ho was nearer and lovely there.
Lee (04 August 2018)

We had a lovely time at bideford bay, the location was lovely, plenty to do and the staff were brilliant. The only thing that let it down was the caravan. It was extremely basic and was dirty in places. We did mention our concerns to staff and they gave us a hoover for the week.
Michael from Barnsley South Yorkshire (03 August 2018)

Lovely resort for our 1st holiday as a family of 4 children our only comments that are negative are that there were no towels on arrival and website didn’t make us aware. Also it was not very pushchair/baby friendly we had to get a key for baby change and queue at a busy bar with a screaming baby and to get to the outdoor pool was a very long trip round and we had to knock on a door to get in and was made to feel like an inconvenience. Other than that was really good value with loads to do for the kids.
Michelle from Westbury (03 August 2018)

It was ok but for the price in the holidays it was poor. Wasn't very clean in the facilities. Found it awful in the entertainment area that there wasn't a separation between the kids entertainment to the bar area like in other parkdean resorts. Swimming pool was hit and miss, no real fun for the kids. A splash area with sprinklers would be great for the little ones. Just needs updating and lots of hills.
Jessica (30 July 2018)

Window blinds in caravan broken. Rubbish scissors and tin opener and not enough sharp knives. Lack of electrical sockets
Rhiannon (30 July 2018)

Fantastic! a lovely site with warm, friendly and helpful staff. Caravan very spacious, very clean. Reported a broken blind and it was fixed instantly!. food and drink prices excellent, ate in the club house everyday. Free, crazy golf!!!!!!(never had this on a site before always had to pay!). would recommend this site to all (taking into consideration the steep incline, not suitable for wheelchairs etc..). will be returning again..
Nicola from London (28 July 2018)

We had a fantastic week and would highly recommend staying here.
Vanessa from Alton (28 July 2018)

Lovely caravan and facilities.
Charlotte from Leicestershire (20 July 2018)

Great place to stay as we do lots of coastal walks so don't sit in the accommodation a lot, needs updating and the swimming pools close at stupid o'clock 17:00 when you want a swim after a full day out
Clive from Basildon (16 July 2018)

Excellent site only downside pool limited numbers allowed in and outside pool in this heatwave not open. Site is very hilly so not suitable to all. Booking in process and wait time was horrendous
Dawn from Northants (13 July 2018)

Lovely view but not suitable for young families as on a steep slope which was near impossible to get pushchair up. There was no toddler pool. The main pool was lovely & warm but kids could not run about there. . their is a lovely new playground but it is on a slope. The soft play area is small but nice. . the lodge I stayed in sounded good on paper but was a dated shell. Lovely open living area where the kids could run about & had new furnishes but the bathroom needed an overhaul, the bath was too slippery so could not bath or shower the children. The fridge was tiny-thankfully only there for the weekend.
Nicole from Portsmouth (09 July 2018)

The accommodation was basic but comfrotable enough. However, there were no bags for rubbish in the chalet and no mats in the shower room. Floor was slippery when stepping out of the shower. Water temperature was jus about bearable and it was not possible to turn it down whend having a shower.so it was most uncomfortable during hot weathere when you could do with a cold shower and not a hot one.
Alma from Poole (29 June 2018)

Overall throughly enjoyed trip. . however I did not feel the caravan we booked/saw on line did not match the one we had in reality. . toilet stunk of urine even after cleaning. . we also had a problem with one of the arcade machines. As it was out of hours of the attendant the bar staff we spoke to not that helpful . . reception staff good. . food/drink excellent value and quality . . overall good value we would stay again but not in a clovelly
Michael from Cardiff (29 June 2018)

Great fab time even extended it for another 7 days
David from Torquay (25 June 2018)

Book in quick, directions to chalet were good. Not recommended for anyone with mobility problems as area is very hilly. Overall very good would come again.
David from Worcester (22 June 2018)

We were very disappointed with the curtaining in the lounge area of our accommodation. We had no privacy as the curtain rail was broken and every time we tried to close them they fell down!!! therefore when we were relaxing after a busy day anyone could have looked in on us. Thank goodness we had no-one sleeping in that area it would have been very difficult to gain any privacy for sleeping.we did not use any of the facilities available to us but your receptionists were very welcoming.
John from Wallingford (18 June 2018)

Nothing great about the location or actual park. Average amenities.
Ebrahim from London (18 June 2018)

Nice park in beautiful wooded area, with views of the sea in places. We didn't really use the facilities, but the swimming pools looked nice and there is a nice play area. As usual there is no wifi available away from the entertainment complex, and while we were there it was hit and miss at the best of times. Staff seemed pleasant and helpful, although we didn't have a lot of interaction with them.

Clean but very basic chalet. Beds were uncomfortable and the soft furnishings in the sitting room were tatty and drab. Chalet in need of an update and maintaned to a better standard. Location good.
Angela from Somerset. (04 June 2018)

The only slight disappointment for the children was that we thought we would be given a caravan but we were in a chalet.
Matthew from Llandrindod Wells (01 June 2018)

Great holiday, we were lucky regarding pool rule customer need to be told/reminded that there is a number limit and maybe a limited time. Shame when the outdoor pool area is large and people not swimming are included in numbers in the pool area. The management of the pool was out only concern.

Lovely location, can be very expensive at the club but there are some drink and meal deals which helps
Michelle from Bourne (14 April 2018)

The restaurant was ok and the outdoor play area was nice, the amusements were average. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Unfortunately we were put in a caravan furthest from the amenities and next to a very noisy and busy road that made sleeping very difficult, if I were to book again I would ensure that the caravan was nearer to facilities and not next to the road, I personally don't think they should have caravans that close to a main road.

The entertainment for the children was excellent. There was always something to do morning , afternoon and night. This was much appreciated as it rained for most of the week. The staff were hard working but always happy. The accommodation was basic which for the price was acceptable. However we had two days without water which spoils things. The toilets in the entertainment complex were often out of order particularly the ladies. We appreciate it was a bank holiday weekend but these emergencies have to be catered for. The site is in a great location close to many of the attractions.

Took my young children on their first caravan holiday and despite it being 1 degree outside nobody put the heating on in the caravan so we were freezing for our first night. They did leave an easter egg which was nice. We left the next morning to go home to warm up. Entertainment for children was very good. The caravans are not suitable for most people unless it is above 10 degrees at night. There is no heating in bedrooms and main source of heat is the fire in the lounge. I will make a formal complaint.
Paul from West Midlands (02 April 2018)

Lovely park in beautiful location. Amazing kids entertainment team who worked really hard and got the kids engaged. Could have done with more bar staff as happy hour is 5-8 on cocktails and these took considerable time to make..

We stayed in a 4 bedroom walland chalet. on arrival the property had a damp smell to it but seeing it was the start of the season just put it down to we were one of the first to start holidaying. once settled in we realise that the electric fire in the living area did not work. As it was march the weather was not pleasant and so we needed heating. It was very cold as the only other heating were very tiny electric ones in the bedrooms. . there were also light bulb that didn't work. . when it came to cooking there were only enough plates, dishes etc for 7 instead of 8. . when we contacted the number given on the keyring on the first evening, we had spoken to a security staff that said he would come and check it out for us. he did not come that evening so not a good first night for us. . first thing in the morning we contacted a member of staff at reception and they did send someone up to fix the heating and later to bring the missing plates etc. . overall we did have a lovely time and the accommodation was of a good size but very dated.
Kay (30 March 2018)

Very clean accommodation best bed we have ever sleep in on holiday plenty places to visit 10 out of 10 would recommend lots of lovely places to walk the dogs
Raymond from Bristol (30 March 2018)

As a single mum of 4 young children I couldn't have asked for a better holiday over easter and at a fantastic price too.
Michaela from Somerset (30 March 2018)

It was a shame the pool was broke which put the temperature down so unable to use. Too cold. We booked this holiday purely on the indoor pool so the kids had something to do because we new the british weather would let us down in march. Accommodation nicer on inside than out. Utensils cooking could have done with a few more bits and a extra shelf in the cooker , lack of space shelving we couldn’t cook everything at together so we had sittings which wasn’t convenient.

After reading reviews, we were slightly concerned, however we understand that the resort has just been taken over and is undergoing a transformation, which is evident in the facilities, the park was fantastic, the pool was perfect for the kids, and the restaurant was lovely (feb half term 2018). . our accommodation was dated, and slightly chilly, but the space for 7 of us and two dogs was amazing 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms , huge open plan living/dining room (with three decent sized sofa's) and kitchen, we didn't pay a massive amount, so i'd say we paid for what we got. could do with a paint job and maybe new carpet and mattresses. But the beds were clean, as were the showers and living area. . the staff were amazing, if we had any issues we reported them and within a short space of time things were sorted, and with a smile and a chat - which was lovely! in particular chaz in the bar and restaurant who couldn't do enough and was always polite and professional - customer service goes a long way for us, so we really appreciated his work ethic! the maintenance staff came in and resolved any issues we had promptly and were very accommodating (even did some extras job for us while they were at the chalet.). . parking is a bit limited, especially if you have two cars, so there was a bit of car hopping when there was a space.. it is super muddy in february, but there isn't much they can do about that - so just take your wellies :-). . it is hilly, which was fine for us (3 adults, 4 kids), but if you do have any walking difficulties probably not the place for you. . the evening entertainment was great up to the age of 8, but my 11 year old was slightly passed it, and they could do with separating the entertainment from the restaurant (bingo while eating isn't the best) and as always with these places, there's never quite enough room for everybody.. . but on the whole, for a budget break, it was a great week. we went with low expectation and were pleasantly surprised - thank you bideford bay!

If you are lucky enough to have accommodation near the office or clubhouse then great then you didnt have to tackle the hill or shortcuts. Then nice place but not for the elderly as my mum really struggled with the hill using a walker

We had a lovely stay, kids enjoyed the evening entertainment and the food was very good value for money. Only main complaints would be how muddy it was and the swimming pool was quite cold!

Nice lodge clean and comfortable but so far from the car park to carry luggage the staff did help. Not very relaxing we were just the other side of a hedge where the main road was, it was very noisy. . the facilities looked shabby it was near the end of the season but even so. Lots of noise near us leaf blowing machines used lots of the time as well as road noise. We were also at the top of the site a steep hill down to the facilities we needed to get the car out I am 69 and my son has a disability, not the ideal situation.

Upon earlier than expected arrival we were welcomed and invited to use all facilities until our accommodation was ready. . when we were given the keys we arrived at our shalet to find that it hadn't been cleaned!! . we were horrified to find the previous guests dirty bedding , crumbs and toe nails... the staff were very apologetic , we accepted that mistakes happen, and the matter was resolved straight away . our shalet was very basic, you really do get what you pay for. But if all you're after is a base , as we were , then it's ok. . the out door pool was clean with plenty sun beds , the bar and restaurant were well laid out and the food & drink prices reasonable. The out door area had a lovely view and was an ideal area to sit and have a drink while the children played on the play area, unfortunately we chose not to dine outdoors because of all the wasp nests . we enjoyed our stay , the staff are lovely, but wouldn't go back as the location isnt really what we expected.

We had 2 accommodation's. one needed re cleaning but this was done on request. Staff we met were friendly. Food on site was good just a bit of a wait but that was expected in high season. Both swimming pools lovely and warm. Children loved it.
