We loved staying in darwin cottage it is very well equipped and comfortable. In a quiet spot next door to a pub with walks onto the south downs from the door step. A short drive to local stores and eastbourne also the chalk cliffs of beachy head and the sevon sisters where the walks and coastline are wonderful. We are longing to return. Betty from Bedford (09 November 2018)
Lovely, well equipped cottage in great location with excellent pub just next door. Owner tanya has done a great job. Definitely recommended David from Exmouth (05 October 2018)
A lovely cottage, very well equipped and in a beautiful location. There were also a variety of children's toys, dvds and books which was a really nice touch. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate in staying there again. Sam from Kent (01 October 2018)
One of the best so far (out of about 30 in the past 7-8 years. above score tells it all. Lovely owners, terrific welcome, pub next door and topped out by home bread and butter as added welcome treat. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. George from Worksop, Notts (21 September 2018)
Well appointed holiday cottage with all white goods found in any kitchen plus a clothes line! like home from home from the equipment point of view. plenty of walks straight from the cottage without taking the car and food next door at the eight bells. shady car parks to be found in the area which was ideal for us as the weather was so hot. Mike And Sybil from Worthing (06 July 2018)
A very comfortable cottage with everything we needed for our week stay. It is in a perfect situation, being in a quiet rural setting but within easy reach of eastbourne and other tourist spots. The south downs way passes through jevington so there are great walks directly from the cottage. Sherry from Helperthorpe (13 April 2018)
A really well appointed cottage with plenty of room for 3 adults. ideal for walks on the south downs as there are several paths just minutes away. just to note that the road from the village to the nearest shops is quite narrow and is best to drive rather than walk. wifi access is not great if that is a priority. Susan from London (02 April 2018)
The best holiday cottage stay ever. It made such a change to stay in a cottage that was well equipped with quality furniture and kitchen equipment. Beds and pillows were comfortable, quality sheets, very clean cottage with every facility imaginable. The garden and views were stunning and the landlord and lady always on hand, friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this cottage more highly. Simon from Taipei, Taiwan (26 June 2015)
A wonderfull cottage. Real perfect!. very kind owners! Hans from Woudrichem The Netherlands (10 November 2014)
Very comfortable accomodation and we were made very welcome by the owners. Excellent location to explore the beautiful south downs. Amanda (29 August 2014)
Perfect cottage (unfortunately no comfortable furniture for the patio), very well equipped, immaculate condition, extremely friendly and helpful hosts Klaus from Germany (25 July 2014)
The fact that we have been to darwin cottage three years running and will go again next year says it all. The location is ideal for a wide range of interests such as walking, opera, national trust properties, beaches and other activities too numerous to mention. Some access to wifi would be good for those without phone-based access. Louise from Nottingham (04 July 2014)
Fantastic cottage and situation Susan from Diss (13 June 2014)
Yes I would highly recommend Darwin Cottage. There were four of us two adults and two children and we had plenty of space. It is a fanastic holiday home in a beautiful location which is ideal as a base when touring East Sussex. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. On arrival we recieved a welcome basket of goodies which was much appreciated. We will definitely be returning. Mrs B from Tramore (13 June 2011)
The cottage as well as the region were above expectation. Starting from the cottage you can choose between several beautiful walks in a very charming landscape. Being Belgians, not used to some British equipment, the owners were very helpful. Mr B from Assebroek (17 April 2011)
Lovely cottage with lots of character and in great condition. Nice and clean and child friendly from the moment we arrived meant it was incredibly easy to settle in. Perfect for young families and definitely gets our recommendation. Mrs B from Wokingham (29 January 2011)

Lovely area - plenty of walks. Owners very friendly. Lovely welcome pack containing eggs, bread, butter, biscuits, coffee, tea etc. This was our second visit. Mrs G from Moreton-In-Marsh (14 March 2010)
We have booked another week - I believe that is recommendation enough. Mrs G from Moreton-In-Marsh (11 December 2009)
A lovely, well equipped and comfortable cottage, with friendly and helpful owners, set in beautiful countryside. Even the weather was good. Could not ask for anything more. Mr P from Colchester (13 September 2009)
This was our first experience of a Hoseasons cottage and we were very impressed. The accommodation wasn't cheap, but we certainly felt the price tag matched the standard of the accommodation, which was very high.I would struggle to suggest anything which could significantly improve Darwin Cottage. I've only ticked we are unlikely to return to the cottage below, as there are so many others areas of the country to explore. Mr A from Norwich (08 September 2009)
The cottage is surronded by a lot of countryside, which is great. Eastbourne, Beachy Head, etc... are great places to visit. A great place to go and explore at your own leisure. Miss R from Willenhall (01 September 2009)
A lovely cottage in a beautiful area, with friendly owners. The cottage was clean, lovely furnished, looked homely and everything was available. Lots to be done in the area. Mrs P from Amersfoort (06 July 2009)
We enjoyed a wonderful week at Darwin Cottage. There were lots of walks on the South Downs, a good pub almost next door and a very modern but cosy cottage, with every convenience. Mrs W from Dereham (05 June 2009)
The deciding factor between this property and another was the obvious enthusiasm of previous visitors - we found this fully justified. The owners have incorporated many ideas derived from their own experience of renting cottages and made this property one of the best we have visited! Mr B from Bromley (20 March 2009)
Lovely cottage in a good location for walking or general exploring of South Coast, owners are very friendly and helpful. Overall an excellent break. Mrs C from Hailsham (16 January 2009)
It's a beautiful spot and a wonderful location if you want to explore Eastbourne, Brighton adn Lewes or the South Downs area in general. Darwin cottage is delightful, very well appointed and tastefully decorated. I would certainly stay there again. Mrs J from Sevenoaks (22 September 2008)
Darwin Cottage, Jevington, Nr Eastbourne was a good base for getting into Eastbourne and all the surrounding areas. Mrs G from Bury St. Edmunds (22 August 2008)
