Haven Europe Domaine de Kerlann is stunning. I�m not exaggerating. Honest. It is in a lovely location, right in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by shady woodland and near some very photogenic beaches.

Sound good so far? Ancient stones protectively guard the entrance and the gardens are a blaze of colour. But this parc is not just a pretty face, it has a great atmosphere and loads of activities on offer.

It wouldn�t surprise me if a parent had been involved in the design of the bar and terrace. They are on slightly higher ground, so you can relax on the terrace and enjoy a drink, whilst watching the children play in the pool and Haven splashzone. Very handy.

Though this site Haven Europe is very popular, it hasn�t let this go to it�s head and maintains a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with plenty to keep families entertained.

The enthusiastic owner of this wonderful site makes sure that it provides the perfect venue for some laid-back fun. It�s spacious and well laid out with sports facilities and play areas aplenty.

The generous sun terrace is a prime spot for working on that tan or, if your children fancy a break from the heat, the covered pool is always a good option. Though your children might prefer the lure of the tropical pool complex with four lane waterslide. Can�t imagine why! Then, at the end of the day, you can soak up some more Breton culture, in the traditional bar and restaurant.

Haven Europe Le Ch�teau Des Ormes

You cannot help but be impressed with the imposing chateau, which is at the heart of this large leisure and pleasure parc. The chateau dates back to the 15th century and is now a private residence, which overlooks the magnificent golf course and the lakes for fishing and boating.

The range of facilities and activities is extensive. Take for example sports - there are separate football and volleyball pitches and multi-sports pitch for 5-a-side football or basketball, as well as two tennis courts. There's even archery. You'll be spoilt with the two main pool complexes. All the pools are heated and there are separate areas for kiddies.

All this, plus the 18-hole golf course and driving range on-site. All season long, if it's fun and entertainment or activity you want there's also a full programme for families to join in or just sit back and watch.

Haven Europe La Grande M�tairie

carnac "This partially wooded site is perfect for children, who love its superb pool complex, slides and chutes. They can also feed the farm animals on-site - though not whilst going down the slides!"

Haven Europe La Grande Metairie is an attractive wooded parc in a glorious setting. There is plenty to keep you occupied with all sorts of sports available to try. The pool complex is superb with a fabulous water park complementing the main pool area, which is backed by lovely old Breton buildings. Children love the 4-lane waterslide and chute.

Evening entertainment organised throughout the week is centred around the amphitheatre, situated behind the superb bar area and ranges from barbecues to folk music. La Grande Metairie is a great place for young children to play and they can sometimes join in with feeding the farm animals on site.

The parc is situated only 200 yards from the famous prehistoric standing stones of Carnac which are an incredible site of over 1,000 stones. They are said to date from around 3000 BC. No wonder this area of Brittany is alive with folklore and legend.

If you are at all indecisive about where you want to stay this is the perfect place for you, because you get two places for the price of one! Le Bois Masson and Le Bois Dormant are just across the road from one another and whichever parc you stay at you can still use the facilities of both. Now isn�t that considerate?

Though Le Bois Masson is fairly small it has a big personality. Its prime spot on one of the main roads heading into St Jean de Monts has helped it to elbow out the competition to become one of the main sites in the region and one of the liveliest. It is always very popular during high season with a great atmosphere in the evenings.

Haven Europe La Pignade

Pronounced �la pin-yad�, rather than the more humorous sounding �pig-nade�, this parc is a real little jewel. It�s got such a peaceful atmosphere that you�re in danger of settling down by the new pool for forty winks, only to wake up a week later to find you�ve slept through your holiday. Though I�m sure one of our team would wake you before you missed too much.

Whether your family is sports-mad or prefers more gentle exercise, there is plenty for you to choose from. The Haven Europe parc team organise nature walks in the forest where you can spot deer and foxes. For the more energetic, there is football coaching plus a range of games on the brand new multi-sports pitch.

Haven Europe Les Charmettes

Les Charmettes is like a tiny smartly run city, with lots of people bustling around, a sense of purposeful activity and a well run reception at the hub of it all. Yet strangely it also manages to feel quite peaceful. One of the team members put this down to the cunning way that the mobile homes are arranged, in small round florets (rather than in rows) screened with tall hedges. It means more seclusion and no through traffic. Very clever.

I can�t talk about Les Charmettes without mentioning the pool complex. It�s impressive: 1 indoors, 2 outside, waterslides, spa bath and 2 children�s pools with an amazing playstation with slides and climbing frames.

Haven Europe Le Vieux Port

If your children are sports mad they will love Haven Europe Le Vieux Port. It has everything on site: volleyball and football pitches, boules, basketball, crazy golf, as well as a fabulous waterpark.

There is also pony and horseriding on offer and miles and miles of beaches nearby, easily enough to build an award-winning sandcastle. It�s one of the best areas for surfing, or for calmer waters you could just hang out by the tropical pool complex.

One thing you can�t fail to notice about this site is the waft of fragrant pine from the surrounding forests. It�s wildlife heaven here with birds, an abundance of rabbits and red squirrels (hurrah - they do still exist), all perfect for impromptu nature lessons with the children.

Haven Europe Le Lac Des R�ves

Haven Europe Le Lac des R�ves is a place that takes a walk on the wild side. It has character, it's in touch with nature, it has a sun-basked rustic feel. This is the sort of place that immediately puts you at ease. Le Lac des R�ves' main feature is the stunning lake, particularly when the sun sets over it turning it dark pink - a great photo opportunity.

The lake is home to pink flamingos and chameleon frogs which you might see hopping about the parc - the frogs not the flamingos! If you have young children they'll be intrigued by the way the frogs change their skin to blend into the background. If you prefer your wildlife a bit larger, try your hand at riding the Camargue horses.

Arriving at Haven Europe La Carabasse you will be struck by how smart, clean and inviting it looks. This is a parc with French chic. The three swimming pools are real favourites - especially with children, as are the parkland play areas. There's a pleasant restaurant and terrace overlooking the pools. Haven Europe pitches are very well placed with many of them overlooking the man-made lake in the heart of the parkland, offering fishing and boating.

Haven Europe le parc des alicourts

This Haven Europe parc is spread over a large area in a very pleasant location by a pine and deciduous forest. The whole parc provides an exceptional nature area with real peace and quiet, and plenty of space for play. All the family will spend hours enjoying the beautiful swimming pool complex. Around the pools you'll be able to relax under the rush umbrellas or just soak up the sun.

In addition to all this, the parc has a lake with a sandy beach and water activities including pedalos, kayaks and canoes available. It's set in a large grassy area, which is ideal for picnics, playing or rambling. The natural surroundings with wooded footpaths, countless picturesque cycling tracks make it a favourite.

In high season a small train runs around the parc and there is an extensive range of family entertainment including a disco.

Haven Europe Les P�neyrals

This is the spectacular France of the Dordogne. Believe in make believe as you marvel at the medieval villages, wonderful old buildings, fairy-tale castles and stunning scenery all along the river valleys.

Haven Europe Les Peneyrals is a secluded woodland parc spread over a large natural area. All around, plants and colourful shrubs abound in an exceptionally peaceful and quiet environment.

The pitches are well laid out, surrounded by plenty of green open space. They are in terraced areas and may not be ideal for small children or elderly persons. The site features a central fishing lake, but if fishing isn't for you, then try a game of tennis, badminton or mini-golf, or hire a bicycle and get some exercise while you explore the local area. As you would expect, Les Peneyrals is a haven for wildlife - there are red squirrels, rabbits, lizards and, of course, many birds.

The superb pool complex is the main centre of attraction during the day and there is usually some entertainment arranged in the evenings in high season. Perhaps, after all the activity you'll welcome a meal in the site's excellent restaurant.
