BeWILDerwood in Norfolk - what we thought of BeWILDerwood in Norfolk
We took our two children to BeWILDerwood for a day out during the summer holidays,
and a fantastic time was had by all. We arrived about 10:30am, and I was expecting some
queues, so was pleasantly surprised by the easy of entry. There was plenty of parking,
with a couple of fellas showing you where to leave the car. Also, there was no queue
to enter BeWILDerwood, so we'd soon paid up and were in. Once in you have a choice of either
ambling along the raised walkway to the main play area, or you can take a short boat
ride. What most people do is catch the boat - so there is quite a long queue.

What we did, and you want to consider, is walk across to the main area (which
takes about 2 minutes), and catch the boat back to the start. This way you get
to use the boat, but don't have to queue. (At the end of the day, catch the boat
from the start - as most people are heading the other direction).

Once at the main play area, you're confronted with the choice of things to play on.
Our children spent ages on various tree houses, including: Tricky Tunnels, The Broken
Bridge, and Slippery Slope. We also spent time in the "Den Building" area. You'll
find plenty of wood left lying around to make a den; and we got to sit down and
have cup of tea. You're not fleeced for drinks at BeWILDerwood, with £1.20 for a cup of tea,
you can't go wrong.
There's plenty of places to enjoy a picnic at BeWILDerwood, and you're allowed to go out to
your car as often as you want, so there's no problems taking your food and drink
with you.
For the smaller children, there's "Toddlewood on the hill" - which is especially
for the youngsters. Our children (6 and 10) are too old for the toddlers section;
and, unfortunately for me, they're getting too old to need my help on the tree-houses,
so I didn't have an excuse to climb and slide with them.

A Boggle village at BeWILDerwood - you'll understand when you get there... |
I'd highly recommend BeWILDerwood for a family day out. There is enough to keep
the young 'uns entertained all day. We decided head for home at 4pm, but the kids
could have kept going for ages. BeWILDerwood is not a cheap day out. It cost us
£46 for a family of four. But, then again, you get what you pay for, and once inside
BeWILDerwood you find hundreds of things for the nippers to nag you to spend money on.
