Tips on finding your cheap holiday - Bag Yourself a Bargain
Bargain holidays - that's what we all want None of us want to pay full price for a holiday when there special offers to be had.
You can get yourself a cheap holiday by following a either of these two simple rules :
Rule 1 : Book Early
Booking early is the first rule; many companies will give you a discount for booking your holiday early.
If you've come back from your holiday and said to yourself "We'll go back there again next year", well
now's the time to book. You may well get a specific discount on your holiday for booking early.
Some holidays will be priced as "next years holiday, at this years price". Holiday prices - along with everything else -
tend to go up year on year. So booking next year's holiday at this year's price will save you money too.
Another big advantage of booking early is that there are plenty of holiday destinations to choose from.
Whether you want to go back to the same destination again, or choose from another holiday destination; booking early has everything going for it.
Rule 2 : Wait Until the Last Minute
Not keen on booking your holiday early? or you can't quite decide where you want to go?
Last minute bargains are the thing for you to look out for. Wait until a few weeks before your
holiday is due to start to get the cheapest holiday.
Holiday companies don't want to be stuck with unsold holidays; because after the sell by
date of a holiday, no one will want it, no matter how cheap the holiday is. What I mean by
the sell-by-date, is a date which has passed. So if a particular holiday started on the 20th August,
and it's now the 28th August, that holiday isn't worth anything, see what I mean? So to get
round this, cheap holiday deals are offered to sell those last minute deals.
The problem with booking last minute to get your cheap holiday bargain, is that you'll be stuck
with whatever is left available. If you don't particularly mind where you go on holiday, then
this may not be a problem. However if you've decided on your destination, you may be best to book early
(see rule 1 : book early).
One final word on last minute booking - holiday prices don't always go down. If the
holiday destination is in demand, the price of the holiday may
actually go up. So be careful!
Enjoy your cheap holiday
The crucial thing about your holiday, is that you enjoy it! There is no point in saving hundreds of pounds on
your holiday destination, if you get there and hate every minute. Make sure you choose a holiday you like too. That
may sound obvious, but it is possible to get caught up in the bargain hunting, and book a cheap holiday destination
just because it is cheap.
