A beautiful day on England's east coast. Watch the video
I thought I'd share this short video of the sun coming up over the east coast.
Taken about 9am on a sunny April morning, it shows what a fantastic place the UK
can be.
The video is taken in Gorleston, Norfolk, and faces towards the Gorleston sea front. You can see the beach, and
houses lining the sea front. The video sweeps round to the South, and you can just
make out a row of caravans along the cliff edge. These
caravans belong to Hopton Holiday Village (the picture below
highlights where these caravans are - as it's not really obvious from the video).
Further along the coast is Lowestoft, with it's giant wind turbine called Gulliver.
The camera sweeps round to the left and faces out to sea. There isn't much to see here,
just swathes of empty sea - but that's the point really, the beauty of the coast and sea in
East Anglia is incredible, and should you want to stay in this part of the world, it's something you
can look forward to seeing everyday during your holiday. Anyway, back to the video. As the picture sweeps
round, land appears. This is the Gorleston / Great Yarmouth harbour mouth, with Great Yarmouth to the north.
This part of Great Yarmouth is the industrial centre - you can see the two huge cranes used to unload cargo from
various ships. However, Great Yarmouth is a popular tourist destination, and well worth a visit.
Where to stay near Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth
If you like the look of the east coast, and fancy staying here on holiday, you have a huge variety
of holiday accommodation to choose from. holiday parks, cottages,
holidays without children - there's bound to be something for you.
Holiday Parks
There's an abundance of holiday parks in East Anglia, one of them was mentioned earlier when it
appeared in the video; Hopton Holiday Village is
a perfect location for a family holiday. Run by Haven Holidays, you'll find entertainment to
keep the children amused for the duration of your holiday - and you can start the day watching
the sun coming up over the sea. Other holiday parks in the area include
Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth. And
Broadland Holiday Park in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft.
Holiday Cottages
If a holiday cottage is more your thing, how about Pebble Cottage
in Pakefield (just south of Lowestoft). This cottage is also right on the coast,
with the back garden being directly onto the beach. You can see how close
the cottage is to the
beach from this video of Pebble Cottage.
Child Free Holidays
Want a child free holiday? Warners Holidays, who specialise
in hotel short breaks for adults, have two of their thirteen resorts in Lowestoft:
Corton and
Gunton Resorts. The resort
at Corton is directly on the coast, with Gunton being a little more inland (although
only about ½ mile inland).
Choose East Anglia
So there you have it, several types of holiday, and all within a stones throw of the sea.
Have a look at East Anglia for your next holiday - you won't regret it!
