Very good location. Very comfortable and clean cottage. Leborgne from Rambouillet France (12 October 2018)
Bit tricky to find as plants were partly obscuring nameplate. parking was a bit of a problem as road is narrow, we had to park a bit further away and carry luggage down. however, once inside, cottage is beautifully renovated with good quality fittings. Decor clean and attractive. Stairs very worn and uneven so care had to be taken, we got used to them after a while. Handy having a downstairs cloakroom which was also well renovated and spotlessly clean. Bedroom a delight. Everything you would imagine a cottage bedroom to be. Linen and towels top quality. Quiet at night. we both slept really well better than at home! one thing to note, not many places to eat out sunday evening as most stopped serving at lunchtime. Had to go into matlock to find something other than burgers or pizza. Excellent stay. Highly recommend Audree from Bedford (10 September 2018)
Beautiful, cosy, comfortable cottage and wanted for nothing. Breakfast on the balcony was a bonus and the silence was golden. Will recommended and would definitely return, the area’s stunning. Thanks Paula from Essex (25 July 2018)
My wife and I greatly enjoyed our week in the cottage, as it was so comfortable and well-equipped. Having a decent size of tv was also a boon, as we saw some world cup matches on it and also some tennis. The location was, for the most part, very peaceful, broken only by the occasional tractor or other noisy vehicle. The small first-floor balcony was a most pleasant place to spend some time, absorbing the calm and peace that generally prevailed. Also it was not too far from main roads and from matlock. Robert from New Milton, Hampshire (30 June 2018)
The cottage was very clean and modern. Plenty of space for two people. We were lucky with the weather so it was lovely sitting on the bedroom terrace. Kitchen had everything you needed plus tablets for the dishwasher. All linen was good quality and pleased towels were there as we had forgotten ours. The duke of york pub is 2 minutes walk but only opens at 8.30pm and is very small!. the only thing is it wasn’t obvious that there wasn’t a garden. Overall it was very quite and comfortable. Helen from Tamworth (30 May 2018)
Fabulous cottage, very comfortable and relaxing. Location is quiet and superb for walking. Enjoyed our stay. Linda from Cheltenham (23 May 2018)
This was a lucky find and was so impressed when we arrived. Such a beautiful cottage in a lovely setting just a shame there’s no garden and no convenience shop close by but didn’t want to leave so will definitely be returning Lisa (14 May 2018)
This is a beautiful little cottage with absolutely everything you could need including tea, coffee, hot chocolate (when you have made it!) and condiments! a nice choice of dvds, books and games are also provided. Although it isn't mentioned anywhere on the website there is a hairdryer. Lovely comfy bed. The small decking area off the bedroom with a table and 2 chairs is a lovely place to sit in the sun with a book and a glass of something! there is a woodburner in the lounge but we were lucky enough to have glorious weather and did not need to fire it up! the local pub appears to be going through some refurbishment at the moment (april 2018) so we didn't have the chance to source that! the nearest towns for shopping are either matlock or bakewell both 5 miles away (in opposite directions!). attractions nearby are chatsworth house, the blue john cavern and the heights of abraham all worth a visit. . all in all my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend it. Maureen & dave Maureen from Bradford, West Yorkshire (23 April 2018)
A truly lovely cottage, we had a fantastic and relaxing time. The cottage is cute, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Good internet connection. Good location, in a cute village, close to good walking trails. The nearest shop and pub are in the next village. . would definitely stay at pinfold cottage again! Anne from Oxford (07 April 2018)
Amazing cottage, even better than the photos, we absolutely loved it and wished we could have stayed forever. David from Windsor (25 February 2018)
We enjoyed the wood burner and the overall ambience of the cottage. Anonymous from London (22 December 2017)
An excellent hideaway but within easy reach of many local attractions including national trust and english heritage. Beautiful quiet surrounding scenery comfortably observed from outside bedroom balcony/decking. Spotlessly clean with wonderful furnishings. Everything necessary provided for the self catering visitor. Doug from Suffolk (07 July 2017)
Very well equipped, not cosy because of open stairway, living room cold and dark, lack of a bath after long walks was a pity. Good value, (with reduction), superb walks using good supply of guide books. decking on verandah is in need of some repair, hedge and front garden need attention. Rob from Harbertonford (30 June 2017)
Good location for a walking weekend, not so great if the weather is bad. Very well equipped, the owners have clearly thought about most things and hit the spot. The cottage was much bigger than we expected. Simon from Bingham (29 May 2017)
Very impressed with our 3 night stay at pinfold cottage, very welcoming with all mod cons and well equipped kitchen. we would happily stay there again but with regard to local amenities there aren't any apart from the pub which didn't look very inviting. we had brought food with us and ate out during the day so that wasn't a problem but if you wanted to go out for an evening meal the nearest decent pub/restaurant was a couple of miles away which meant one of you couldn't have a drink. Francis from Rainford/St Helens (23 April 2017)
What a tranquil, uncluttered and generous accommodation for two people to 'escape' for a while. the surprising rural outlook and outside space at the back was a joy. Very interesting countryside all around. we missed an old fashioned bath, but everything else exceeded expectations. even the wifi worked! Cleare from Axminster (07 April 2017)
Great cottage, and already recommended it to a few colleagues. Jennifer (19 March 2017)
Lovely little cosy cottage in a small hamlet. if you want peace and quiet this is the place for you. Owners have thought of everything. Very clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen. Perfect for a romantic getaway. We could not get the internet to work but were able to piggy back off our own bt wifi so not too much of an issue for us. sadly the weather was not kind and we were unable to make use of the lovely little balcony which backs on to open fields. from our location we were able to travel to manchester, enjoy shopping in matlock, buxton and bakewell and enjoy a fantastic walk at kinderscout. Andrew from Okehampton (27 February 2017)
A wonderful, cosy ,warm and comfortable detached cottage in a very quiet location. Geert from Kings Langley (17 February 2017)
Lovely cottage had all the amenities, beautiful view from the decking area there is a pub near by but is never open however there are some other pubs near by but not in walking distant. The cottage is a great location to visit other places and the locals are very friendly including the cows ! David from Gosport (09 September 2016)
Lovely place very central, lovely walks and a very interesting local pub. . we wished we had booked two weeks. Linda and chris. Chris from Tillingham Essex (19 August 2016)
This cottage is absolutely lovely. the location is perfect for exploring the local area and there is so much to do. We will definitely be returning to this perfect little hideaway. Ruth from Chelmsford (12 August 2016)
The cottage was beautiful with all facilities you could need however the house had obviously not been cleaned as the bed sheets had not been changed and no clean towels. The location is incredibly beautiful however the local pub does not serve food so was a drive to go out for food. Megan from Aylesbury (05 August 2016)
Idyllic Daniel from Kings Langley (03 June 2016)
A home from home with much thought given to provision of all amenities. Margaret from Leeds (27 May 2016)
A lovely cottage. We really enjoyed are stay. Would definatly go back. Great location for bakewell and buxton. Claire from Ely (25 April 2016)
Superb cottage in a lovely quiet location. Very clean and new inside. Good walks from the doorstep. Can't wait to go back. Jack from St Annes (20 April 2016)
Brilliant stay at pinfold (march 2016) can't fault it. Very well equipped, comfortable cottage allowing for a very relaxing stay. I am sure we will be back. Rosie from Herefordshire (25 March 2016)
Utterly lovely. The perfect place to hide away for a few days. Hannah from Canterbury (16 February 2016)
Lovely cottage. Good location. More spacious than I expected. Jane from Sutton (27 December 2015)
Very well equipped cottage. We usually take coffee, sugar, kitchen rolls etc with us, but were pleased to find this was already provided. The cottage was comfortable, well sized for two and nicely decorated. A couple of nice walks from the door but otherwise, a good central point for peak district walking. Had some trouble keeping the log burner going, which was a shame. Some other reviews mentioned that the village pub was never open. We managed a pint there on three nights, the trick is they often don't open up till half nine at night, so don't be put off, if it looks closed on your way back to the cottage earlier in the evening. Nicki from Newport (08 November 2015)
Great , but could do with more crockery cutlery Christine from Prescot (09 October 2015)
The cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped and the neighbours are very friendly. it is a little bit remote - there is no shop in the village - and parking can be a problem as the lane is narrow so you have to pick your spot carefully, especially on bin day! the wifi and freeview all worked perfectly but my mobile phone only got a signal in the corner of the kitchen. however, this added to the peace and quiet! I was very impressed by the risk assessment in the instructions folder, the best I have ever seen in a holiday cottage. Katherine from Helensburgh (25 September 2015)
Lovely, well equipped cottage, unfortunately the village lacked any facilities, though it was good as a base for exploring the area. Jennifer from Cheltenham (11 September 2015)
We will be looking to return to this cottage in the future. Amy from Bristol (04 September 2015)
The cottage is recently renovated but retains all the quirky charm of an old building. The rooms are free-flowing which we liked, and the balcony/deck with views over the fields to the rear was a bonus. The cottage was well equipped, and everything was cleanand tidy on our arrival. We liked the rural situation of the village although it lacks any shops, and the pub did not appear to be open during our stay. Overall our holiday was just what we wanted . and we would certainly consider making a return visit. Stephen from Aberdour (28 August 2015)
Great cottage, well equipped and lovely location, would definitely stay there again. Maureen from Wimborne, Dorset (24 July 2015)
This cottage was excellently equipped and beautifully furnished. cleanliness was of a very high standard. we found the neighbours around the cottage friendly and helpful and the location was beautiful. definitely to be recommended. Gill from Redditch (17 July 2015)
Absolutely delightful, the location is quiet and peaceful and ideally situated for walking. The cottage had all the equipment we needed and was exceptionally clean. We wouldn't hesitate to book pinfold again the next time we come back to this area. Janet from Billericay (22 May 2015)
We stayed at pinfold cottage for our wedding anniversary. We had a lovely weekend, the cottage is decorated to an excellent standard and was very comfortable. Jayne from Coventry (04 May 2015)
