Lovely cottage centrally based to access derbyshire's lovely countryside & attractions. Owners very welcoming & friendly. 3 pubs for a small village all serving good food and ales. When visiting chatsworth, suggest you go before opening time 11.00am and have breakfast at their farm shop in pilsbury, failing that go after visit for afternoon tea. Bakewell great town, we did go on a monday so had problems parking but worth it for the market and food shop. We have developed a taste for bakewell puddings. Jan from Staffordshire
A great stay in a comfortable and well equipped cottage Nina from Braintree
We really enjoyed our stay at penny pint cottage. A great location with picturesque views and river (for paddling in), play park, cosy pubs and a few village shops within short walking distance. Lovely gardens for the kids to play in - they loved the trampoline. The cottage was clean and well equipped. It was cosy and comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, who gave us directions to local attractions and baked us a lovely cake ! would definitely return to penny pint! Joanna from Croydon
Felt very welcome, cottage was very clean with some nice touches. the weather for our stay was very wet and windy but inside the cottage it was warm and cosy. great location for visiting places of interest. would stay again. Amanda from Uxbridge

Had an amazing time in penny pint cottage, could not fault our stay beautiful place and surrounding area, can not wait to return at easter. Angela from Hornchurch
A beautiful pint-sized cottage in a fabulous location. we had a very warm welcome and found the cottage to be the perfect base for exploring the area. it was a pleasure to sit at the picnic table to have our evening meal looking out at the beautiful garden (across the path from cottage) with stunning views to bradford dale behind. easy walk up the hill to the village centre or down the hill to the river. Great walks from the cottage and lots of attractions nearby (bakewell, chatsworth etc). Jon from North-West Wales
We had an excellent week at penny pint. The owners are real characters and made us feel at home. A home-made cake and some milk welcomed us on our arrival. The cottage had loads of charm with a real old-world feel. The cottage is an excellent base for walking - there was an excellent guide book which helped us choose our routes. The village is very quiet with only a couple of shops. However, they did have the daily essentials and the staff were very friendly. The food at the farmyard inn is fabulous - just make sure you book first! wi-fi was available which kept my son happy! the views from the windows was amazing, over the hills and valleys. Fantastic. There was access to a lovely garden where you could sit and pass away a most enjoyable hour or two. I would have no hesitation in recommending penny pint for a quiet week away in deepest derbyshire. Paul from Chester-Le-Street
Lovely, and unexpected, extras on arrival which were appreciated and enjoyed! wonderfully comfortable bed and sofas. Well equipped kitchen had everything we needed. Lovely gardens to sit in. gorgeous views. The road had a dead end which meant it was very quiet (which was a huge bonus for us). . the owners live close by. They and their children were very friendly. They were helpful when we had a couple of things we needed sorting, but left us well alone the rest of the time. . look forward to returning. Abbie from Pinner
A truly lovely cottage, cosy and comfortable. Ideally situated within the village and the surrounding area. Very quiet and peaceful at night. The facilities are easy to operate and the owners are nearby and very helpful. The village is also pleasant with three pubs and a couple of shops David from Cranwell
Youlgrave is a great location - 10 walks possible from the cottage (book supplied in cottage). 3 pubs in village, 2 of which were tried and found excellent. Nick from Letchworth
