Loverly cottage in a nice village lots of walks straight from the door step yet only 10 min drive from shops and amenities. Amanda from Conwy (11 August 2017)
A lovely cottage, clean , tidy and well looked after. Martin from Coventry (05 August 2017)
Very nice cottage, all very well thought out by owners. lovely location. Lynne from York (24 June 2017)
Great place to stay. Peaceful, beautiful scenery, and brilliant for the dog. Malcolm from Llannon (20 May 2017)
Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country. cottage was perfect and waking up with the steam outside was serene. . it is an ideal location for exploring the peak district. if you do not want to drive , there are beautiful walks straight on your doorstep Catherine (29 April 2017)
Property is in excellent location for walking and exploring the area. needs a bit of updating in terms of painting. Kitchen utensils a bit unkempt. lovely and quiet cottage. Conti (18 April 2017)
The cottage was spacious and in a pretty location but there were a few things which could have been improved. We had a dog with us, so on arriving, to find the side gate had no firm latch and the back patio area was shared with the neighbour was a little disappointing, might be worth mentioning in description. The utensils and baking trays were well worn and could do with renewing. the mattress on the double bed wasn't very comfortable. Unfortunately it seemed as if the cottage hadn't been used for a while. The out of date sauce in the cupboard told a story! one positive thing, the owner was prompt to come out and fix the hot water problem! the bay window was attractive until you closed the curtains in the evening, then you could only accommodate 3 people with the remaining seating. Oh, the kitchen tap sounded as though it was going to come apart ever time you used it. Roy (15 April 2017)
Second time at brookside. Comfortable and warm cottage. Perfect location. Kris from Rhyl (08 April 2017)
A lovely warm cottage in a beautiful location. Easy to keep clean when you have dogs, by using the back door! parking could be an issue in the warmer months as this is a popular location for walkers. Wifi would be a welcome addition. Janet from Bedford (14 January 2017)
A great cottage in a good location for a walking holiday John from Cambridge (04 January 2017)
2nd time here and still love it despite the awful wet weather we had. Rob from Derby (23 November 2016)
Another lovely stay in this fully equipped cottage for all occasions. Warm and cozy when wet and damp and having the window seat to watch the world go by is fabulous. Will return yet again Trudy from Peterborough (05 November 2016)
A great little cottage right on the doorstep of the derbyshire peak district. Youlgreave is a lovely peak village with walks from the door. Two nice dog friendly pubs serving food in the village and a nice farm shop too. What more could you need? Steve from Burton On Trent (08 October 2016)
Very clean and tidy. Lovely walks with the dog . beautiful scenery . nice pubs. Plenty of hot water and lovely range cooker Daniel from Walsall (01 October 2016)
Lovely cottage in a wonderful position. well equipped, walks straight from the door. excellent front window seat/garden for people watching. Tracey from Norwich (24 September 2016)
Lovely cottage, our second visit here. Can't beat the views and the walks from the cottage door! Sam from Crawley (27 August 2016)
Lovely wee cottage thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A great location to explore the local area and walks from the front door. Steve from Anglesey (30 July 2016)
Brookside cottage is in an idyllic location, perfectly situated for walking or just chilling. The downside was with the minute tv and the fact you could only get itv stations. However, the local pubs, especially the farmyard inn served delicious food, and the staff were really friendly. Carol from Tyne &Amp; Wear (23 July 2016)
Fabulous location, great local pubs, the view from the window seat is lovely. the cottage is well equipped and very clean. we would definately book brookside again. Kerstine from Torquay (02 July 2016)
We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The location was excellent for walks from the front door. For our personal taste, the tv could have been bigger, but as I say, that's our preference. . . generally well equipped, good amount of dvd's, which is where a bigger tv would have been helpful. . the view from the front window was excellent, able to watch the heron and other birds. . . kitchen well equipped, but could not find instructions for washing machine, maybe looking in the wrong place. Cafatiere for coffee lovers might be useful. . . enjoyable and the view from the front window was amazing. Julie from Bardney (18 June 2016)
Lovely cottage in great setting. Walks from the door especially good. . awkward kitchen sink tap the only drawback! Archie from Perthshire (21 May 2016)
It was our third visit to brookside. A lovely cottage in a great location for the peak district. . friendly owners with beautiful walks on your doorstep. Malcolm from Carmarthenshire (14 May 2016)
This was a beautiful property in a fantastic location. Walks from the door but not too far from bakewell or matlock and pubs for dinner a couple of minutes walk. Very clean with good facilities. Hot water for bath and shower a bit temperamental and not always hot which was a shame but everything else was great. Would definitely recommend. Jo from West Sussex (02 April 2016)
Fabulous week ideal location. Suggestion would be little table fir coffee cups on the lounge - but that's nit picking. Will be booking to come again Sharon from Huddersfield (05 March 2016)
Already booked another visit absolutely perfect for us Derek from Kings Lynn (27 February 2016)
Lovely homely Kerry from Atherstone (27 December 2015)
Set in an idyllic location - next to the river side - but a little far from shops/ pubs etc. Vashti from Kingston Upon Thames (20 December 2015)
Lovely cottage in brilliant location - perfect for walking, good pubs and easy access to surrounding areas Sarah from Eye (21 November 2015)
Cottage was great, perfect location and almost everything we wanted provided, our only criticism would be the size of the television which was a bit on the small side for comfortable viewing. we would definitely re-book. Debbie from Louth (17 November 2015)
A very warm and comfortable cottage in a great location for a walking holiday. John from Cambridge (14 November 2015)
Fab cottage, fab location. will definately be booking again next year. Lynda from Widnes (07 November 2015)
We had a superb week in this cottage. The weather was beautiful for late in the year and with lovely walks from the door what more could you ask for? everything was lovely and clean and very comfortable. The peaceful setting was beautiful and we would certainly go again. Heather from Poole, Dorset (24 October 2015)
Remarkable place to stay as location is amazing. Cottage is beautiful inside and out and extremely clean, tidy with all the gadgets. . will be returning x Trudy from Peterborough (03 October 2015)
A fabulous cottage in an idyllic setting. Ideally placed for exploring the area. Lovely. Could just have done with a larger tv for the evening. Gill from Morecambe (12 September 2015)
The whole family (dog included!) loved this cottage. The location was perfect and the cottage was extremely comfortable and surprisingly spacious. We will definitely be returning next year! Samantha from Crawley (08 August 2015)
Enjoyed the locality of the cottage. Only reason we wouldn't go back is because we would like a different area to explore. Eileen from Edinburgh (25 July 2015)
A little on the expensive side not everything worked that well. For example the bathroom sink was partially blocked and took ages to drain. But overall a super cottage in a delightful location. Kenneth from Norwich (11 July 2015)
Really enjoyed our week at brookside cottage. Lovely location, cottage clean and tidy with all the amenties you need for your holiday. Maybe a seating area in the back yard would have been nice,to enjoy the morning sun at breakfast time. Suzanne from Woodhouse Eaves Loughborough (27 June 2015)
Great week in a great location! Sarah from Newport Pagnell (04 April 2015)
The cottage would have received full marks a cross the board apart from the shower cubicle was broken and the shower could not be used. the owner did warn us and is sorting. Julie from Sheffield (11 February 2015)
Excellent location with the river in front of the property and bradford dale on the doorstep. plenty of walks from your door without taking a car out and 3 pubs in the village, plus a nice deli. . . we know the area extremely well and have stayed at this cottage twice, and will definitely be staying there again regularly in the future due to the location. . really comfortable cottage and very peaceful. beautiful kitchen. only comments would be a nest of tables in the lounge would be useful, and in the winter if there is 4 of you there is only 3 seats as the window seat is blocked by the curtains. . . if you have dogs they will love it, and dead easy for you as the gateway to bradford dale (which is beautiful) is literally across the road. . . Fiona from Mclean (23 November 2014)
