A lovely cottage in a very good location. Good access to the main road links and places to visit. Eg chatsworth, peak rail and matlock farm park, as well as pretty villages such as matlock and bakewell. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped and having access to the swimming pool was great. Maria from Nottinghamshire (15 April 2017)
Shirley and frank made us very welcome and ensured we were happy and had everything we needed for a lovely holiday. We will definitely return. Janine from Morecambe (18 February 2017)
Brilliant cottage and location with lovely owners who did their best to ensure that we had a lovely time. The views from the cottage are stunning !. the swimming pool is a great asset and made the experience unique and enjoyable. They improved the wi-fi just for us and went to great lengths to ensure it was working correctly. We couldn't have asked for more and would love to return. . perfect for a stay away from a busy schedule. Rosie from London (30 December 2016)
We had an amazing time and soo enjoyed our stay. the grounds are beautiful and very interesting especially when you are just 4 years old with lots to explore and swim in a beautiful place. frank and shirley were such kind people and we soon became very fond of them and very welcomed. Janet from Doncaster (05 November 2016)
The location and grounds are wonderful. It is a little quirky e.g. A swimming pool without changing room. The decor is a bit dated and the swimming pool hours are restrictive. The owners are great. They are really friendly and helpful. The view and grounds are amazing; especially being able to play golf. the location is very close to chatsworth, bakewell, heights of lincoln as well as lots of walks. Elizabeth from Wymondham (04 June 2016)
The owners are lovely people and made our stay a pleasure. . the surroundings to the cottage are beautiful and the views of the countryside are perfect. Alan from Paignton (14 May 2016)
A beautiful well maintained property with friendly owners. Brenda (27 June 2015)
Lovely views and a gorgeous garden. Also, a very pleasant lounge and it's nice to have access to a swimming pool. It was comfortable but we did not find it very well equipped: e.g. Not enough dishwasher tablets, no cleaning cloths/ dish scrubbers, a few implements short, kettle only worked if you held down the button, there were only four mugs and it was generally just a bit awkward cooking and dining for four. We would recommend that the owners review this to encourage return custom and support a sense it is value for money. . . that said, what a wonderful place to be when the sun is shining. Very peaceful environment. Confirmed Guest (06 June 2015)
Just what you're looking for Jim from Cheshire (21 February 2015)
Great location, lovely owners and swimming pool is a bonus! cottage is cosy, has a lovely view over the valley and is of good size for four. However the bathroom is a bit outdated and the master bed was too hard! Ytzen from Bristol (04 January 2015)
Set in a beautiful location this cottage has some stunning views. With a minimum outlay better quality equipment would enhance the stay particularly new kitchen equipment. Furnishings which include curtains, beds and carpets are in real need of updating. An effort should be made to ensure the swimming pool is at a comfortable temperature as we had to ask for it to be increased. We would stay again but would be happier if the price paid was reflected in the overall standard. Ben from Norfolk (20 December 2014)
Fab setting beautiful grounds just a shame shower/decor bit dated and lack of equipment in kitchen, but otherwise perfect. Jane from Manchester (01 November 2014)
The swimming pool is fantastic and the owner are very friendly and helpful. The cottage is dated and in need of tlc. there was only enough hot water for two adults to have a very quick shower and no more. Instructions for where to park and how to find the cottage could only be found inside the cottage. The kettle had to be held on initially for it to boil and the crockery was all miss ok0aged, there was only 3 mugs no use if 4 people wanted a hot drink. The location was great and the pool made it. Kieran from Cambridgeshire (25 October 2014)
Parking is too far away(30 yards) and down a sloping path. If it was raining you would get quite wet. There was not a pack of details about the property. There was not a visitors book to sign Hylton from Accrington (13 September 2014)
Great location - perfect for chatsworth house, lovely owners, fabulous swimming pool. Equipment (eg tv) and decor a little outdated compared to other cottages we have stayed in, and if dishwasher tablets are going to be provided, why only provide 3 for a 7 day family stay? however, we would stay here again. Katharine from Ruislip (09 August 2014)
Excellent cottage and wonderful hosts set in a fantastic location. James from Cardiff (02 August 2014)
Lovely situation and beautifully kept grounds, the swimming pool is fantastic. Patricia from Gofmanchester (28 June 2014)
Great location, friendly owners and utterly relaxing time spent there. Linda (19 October 2013)
Have stayed here 4 times previously. Great location and excellent facilities. The owners really care that you have everything you need and that you have a fantastic holiday. Pauline from Colchester (05 October 2013)
The owners were very kind and helpful and marvellous when we needed to find a chiropractor at short notice.. the cottage has only one thing that needs to be considered. the bedrooms are upstairs but the bath/shower room is downstairs.-. an unusual arrangement at night. Judy from London (24 August 2013)
. . perfect location and gardens. very helpful owners Roy from Fareham (22 Jun 2013)
Lovely location, wonderful views, great little golf course and lovely swimming pool. Mr & mrs shaw could not have been more helpful. Would highly recommend woodside cottage. Roger from Brackley (01 Jun 2013)

A comfortable cosy cottage. Confirmed Purchaser (22 December 2012)
Swimming pool, bird life on the doorstep, owners really welcoming and lovely to talk to. Di from Essex (03 November 2012)
Beautiful location. Wonderful gardens/golf course/swimming pool. Linda from East Grinstead (01 September 2012)
Overall comfortable with wonderful views. Minor disappointments were dated TV set (not easy to operate) and lack of electric sockets in bedrooms. Lovely swimming pool which was a bonus. Customer 28 (July 2012)
The view of the surrounding countryside. The swimming pool was lovely. The owners were very friendly and helpful Jennifer from Cambridge (09 June 2012)
This property has a good central location for visiting lots of places in the Peak District. It is very comfortable and has a lovely garden with great views from the cottage. The pool and golf course are added bonuses. Customer 30 (May 2012)
Great location, lovely quiet surroundings. Colin from Jersey (14 April 2012)
This is a perfect location for visiting the Peaks. Lovely quite setting, but very quick access to A6 and M1 for visiting the sights. The pool was an added bonus - not a 25m lane pool, but big enough for children to spend an hour of fun - and who wants to do lengths when on holiday anyway! The owners were lovely giving us Easter eggs for the children and leaving us to enjoy our stay whilst being available should we require them. We would certainly stay again. Customer 32 (April 2012)
Excellent location with wonderful views, grounds, and the bonus of a heated indoor pool of a reasonable size. Walks from the cottage easily accessible. Customer 33 (March 2012)
Wonderful cottage in an excellent location. Owners extremely nice and helpful. The use of the swimming pool and small golf course absolutely made our holiday special, with the added bonus of hand feeding the pheasants in the garden. Customer 34 (September 2011)
Excellent location, great owners, hugely welcoming & accommodating. Lovely pool facility and beautifully kept golf course. Would go back again in a flash! Customer 35 (June 2011)
Loved the location of this property, having a golf course to ourselves was brilliant. Customer 36 (April 2011)
It was spotless. Spacious and great location and the owners were very accommodating and friendly. Customer 37 (October 2010)
It suited us perfectly and was exactly what we expected. Pool and golf course were main reasons for booking - and were made good use of in the week. Customer 38 (October 2010)
Warm and friendly hosts and the cottage setting and facilities provided met all our expectations. We would recommend Woodside without hesitation. Customer 39 (September 2010)
Very clean and comfortable. Customer 40 (September 2010)
Excellent location, lovely welcome, very helpful through the week, comfortable and clean. Customer 41 (May 2010)
It is well maintained and clean. The setting is stunning, the owners unfailingly helpful and attentive and the pool delightful. It is only a leisure pool and not large enough for a workout swim but was a welcome feature of a lovely holiday cottage. Customer 42 (November 2009)
Abraham Heights was really great, but you definitely need good weather for it, and Chatsworth was truly amazing, would recommend. The swimming pool at cottage was really good. Owners were really nice people and went out of their way to meet us, and check on us during the week, a truly lovely couple. We would definitely recommend this accommodation and your company to our friends and family. We will use your company again too.. accommodation was good although cluttered with owners belongings, amazing amount of wardrobe and drawer space in bedrooms, did lack some basic kitchen equipment such as chopping board. Customer 43 (August 2009)
The golf course and swimming pool were excellent and much appreciated . Customer 44 (July 2009)
Beautiful location, central for all local attractions. Customer 45 (June 2009)
Great location, wonderful views and very welcoming hosts. A fantastic place for a holiday with a young family (kids 6 and 7). Customer 46 (April 2009)
The views from the house were superb! Photographs just can’t do justice to the beauty of the surroundings. Also we felt very comfortable as the owners were so very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Customer 47 (February 2009)
The owners of the cottage were more than helpful. The cottage was fantastic and we would love to go back. Customer 48 (August 2008)
The countryside was beautiful, and the help from the staff/owners fantastic, thanks for helping with the washing, feel like I had a holiday. Customer 49 (April 2008)
