We had a wonderful week at this beautiful house. There are pleasant local circular walks and the children enjoyed seeing the hares and bird life. The swimming pool is a good size and depth and is kept warm. I would recommend white house farm because it has something for everyone and there is lots of space indoors and out. As other reviews have noted, the photos don't do it justice. Paul (21 July 2017)
We had a wonderful family 80th birthday weekend - the house, pool and court were all perfect (as was the weather!!) Customer 2 (19 June 2017)
We had a really fabulous w/end & would all def go back, there are just a couple of things that were a bit of an issue; the tennis court needs a clean as very slimy so pretty slippy at the back.--the pool surround was pretty dangerous to be honest, we had three nasty toe injuries from that area as really needs totally re grouting & the shower for the 2 connecting bedrooms would not run hot water at all so we had to keep bothering others for showers but other than that totally fantastic place. Nichola from Felixstowe (12 June 2017)
We booked the cottage for my 50th birthday, and took a long a group of dear family and friends and what a weekend we had. the venue was amazing and everyone said the same thing. the owner met us upon arrival and showed us around and was available if we needed him during the weekend. the facilities were as described and even better than expected. we spent the whole of the saturday sat around the pool and enjoyed the sunshine, pool and games room. I would definitely recommend the venue to anyone and also would love to return one day. one venue which is outstanding and definitely worth a visit for large groups. Venetia from Rugby (05 June 2017)
The farmhouse was a brilliant place to stay and it was our second visit to this property. it is a bit remote but that suited us and we found several pubs nearby which served excellent food. as I explained the house is remote and due to this we did have some problems with the tv signal and also wifi and mobile phone signal. that could do with addressing as it is important to some people to be able to use wifi and mobile phones and in our case one of our party was a business owner who needed to keep in touch with his company and staff. Karen from Loughborough (20 January 2017)
This was our second stay at this property. It is spacious and very comfortable, warm and comes with all necessary utilities, including 2 cookers and two refrigerators. The owner meets visitors and is very anxious to ensure that all is well. Robert from Glasgow (04 January 2017)
We had a lovely family break in the beautiful house. The house was beyond what we were expecting and we had more than enough space for our group of 12 and a dog. The gardens and rural setting is beautiful and the games room and tennis court a brilliant added extra that kept us entertained. Confirmed Guest (28 November 2016)
A fantastic place to spend my 50th with family, plenty of room with everything we needed, even made use of the pool.a beautiful house, would love to go back in the summer Annette from Chatham (31 October 2016)
Great property! Confirmed Guest (26 September 2016)
Wonderful time here. Good weather helped things. Accommodating hosts. Thanks Confirmed Guest (12 September 2016)
We went as a group of 11 adults, upon arrival we were met by the kindly owner and shown around this amazing house. The house is huge and has everything inside that you will need to have a wonderful holiday. The swimming pool was a delight as was the tennis court and truly stunning surrounding gardens. There were four beautiful majestic horses in their paddocks just basking in the sunshine, they were lovely to watch and admire from afar. Carol from Harlow (19 August 2016)
Lovely house in a fantastic location. Ideal for large group. Needs a little tlc but fantastic holiday home. Steve from Tunbridge Wells (12 August 2016)
Fantastic house and grounds.we will definitely be booking again April from Bedford (29 July 2016)
An absolutely fantastic house. The pool, tennis, and snooker kept everyone happy. There were 12 of us and the property and grounds are so massive we never felt on top of each other. my young niece felt like she was in downton abbey! the grounds are beautiful and well kept and the house has everything you need. We went for my mothers 70 th but would love to return with friends. Great stay. Liz from Cambridge (27 June 2016)
We loved white house farm our second stay great place for lots of people . we all enjoyed . swimming pool tennis court and snooker room . only downside could have been cleaner/ couple of the showers could do with updating and the paving near the pool is uneven and broken (grandchildren tripped)but overall great time by all Tina from Hertfordshire (24 June 2016)
There were 12 of us staying at whitehouse farm and there was plenty of room for everyone..the extra touches of liquid soap and hand cream in every bathroom, plenty of toilet rolls, towels and the delicious rock cakes on arrival were very pleasing!. the showers in the bathrooms could have been more powerful but having said that there was always plenty of hot water so not really an issue. The facilities were amazing..heated pool, tennis court, games room..the problem was we had rubbish weather so were unable to make the most of these luxuries. We found lots to do in the surrounding areas but definitely needed transportation as no local shops or pubs. We would all love to go back but the british weather made it quite an expensive holiday. Julie from Surrey (03 June 2016)
This is a wonderful country house! the house is huge but feels very much like a home, very cosy with lovely homely touches. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and I was easily able to cook for 12 everyday. The living areas were perfect for our big family, two sitting rooms with lovely big sofas and tvs. The games room was a big hit with the boys! the bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. The only negative we had was sleep quality, the beds could have been a bit more comfortable. . to be honest we didn't have great weather so did not explore the surrounding area to any great extent, so can't really comment on things to do or see. However we had a great time just relaxing in the house. Will definitely visit again, we loved it!! Marcel from Sanderstead, Surrey (07 April 2016)
Fabulous house in a splendid position, comfortable, very warm and limitless hot water. splendid snooker room enjoyed by the men. As we stayed at new year we didn't use the pool or tennis court but they looked good. . . a real family home! Vanessa from Hertfordshire (04 January 2016)
Our family of 12 people all adults had an input to this survey. We stayed here at christmas for 7 days. The main problem with this property is that is was filthy. The kitchen aga was full of grease also the electric cooker in the utility was again filthy and the dishwasher was ineffective. There was no heating in the games room and the music centre did not work. The bedroom carpets were very stained as was the chair in the green bedroom, also damp mould was in the wardrobe. The en-suite shower curtain was disgusting as was the shower tray and sealant. The window frames were coated in black mould and need repainting. We have photo evidence to back this up.on the whole we had a great holiday but would not consider returning until this house had a thorough clean/update. The location is superb and its a great shame it has been left to deteriorate. there was a problem with the cleanliness in every bedroom and bathroom. . it is quite obvious that this house is not regularly checked by yourselves. Bobo Barbara from Essex (28 December 2015)
The house was beautiful and in a gorgeous location. Such a great place to hang out with friends - I particularly loved the big farmhouse kitchen with its arga. We'll definitely be back in the summer to make the most of the swimming pool and the tennis courts. Jenny from London (23 November 2015)
We booked the white house farm to celebrate our mum's and dad's 50th wedding anniversary. In total there was 10 of us, 6 adults and 4 children plus 1 small dog. The house was lovely and spacious. The kitchen was the main place we sat in due to the warmth of the aga. The kids enjoyed the pool, though it was still chilly (even though it was heated). we all had a great time and will definitely go back. The welcoming home cooked rock cakes were delicious. Jenny from Brentwood, Essex (30 October 2015)
We had a great weekend. The pool and tennis courts are great. Only comment is that the house could have been cleaner. Found a cigarette end down the back of a sofa , the mugs were all stained, the kitchen cupboards were grubby and there was quite a lot of dust. One suggestion would also be to get a few cheap champagne glasses as would imagine a lot of people rent the house to celebrate, as we did. Lucy from Chelmsford (07 September 2015)
Excellent. Second visit and loved by all young and old!. pool a definite plus and no neighbours to complain about loud children. Just very easy and comfortable. Gill from Liverpool (14 August 2015)
We were a family of 12 (6 adults and 6 children). plenty of space for every one, the pool was wonderful to come back to after a day out or to chill out by all day. Would have preferred a couple of pool tables rather than the snooker table but that is just about the only little complaint from the kids. Also had 3 dogs and there was plenty of secure grounds for them. Overall we had one of the best holidays ever as a whole family. Peter from Nottingham (07 August 2015)
Considering we had inclement weather the house was a saviour! the pool was excellent - although some of the surrounding slabs were a little uneven, as was the paving to the garden which could be a hazard. the games room was also a big hit. Lights were out by the agar and we could not find any spares and we found some of the crockery was not clean. The rooms were excellent and generally the house was very clean. We had good holiday and would recommend the house especially as we had children and also 2 small dogs who had a great time exploring the safe garden. Lynda from Oxford (31 July 2015)
What we loved about white house farm . - swimming pool - tennis court . we had great weather . a family of 12 of us stayed here for a weekend (10 adults, 2 children) and had a fantastic time. The house is a great size for such a large group and is very well equipped. Gardens are lovely great for our dog . only downside is that the wifi wasn't good and the house could have been a little cleaner . ( dust/cobwebs) . but have already booked a week next year Tina from Hitchin (29 June 2015)
Wonderful location, very comfortable and traditional, don't expect "all mod cons". great garden, tennis court was very popular with our group. the pool was used by a few but may be could be a few degrees warmer. Tracey from Mount Bures (15 June 2015)
We stayed here for 3 nights - 12 people in total. was the perfect place to catch up with friends. days spent lazing round the pool or spending time on the smaller garden area by the pool table...bbqs, music and wine - a perfect combination. one couple have already booked white house farm again for a family birthday gathering Kerrie from Chelmsford (08 June 2015)
Second time we have been here - beautiful house, superb accommodation offering all you could want for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday with all the family. Customer 29 from Southampton (16 March 2015)
A fantastic old farm house with loads of character. It was the perfect setting for our holiday with friends. There were 3 families consisting of 6 adults, 5 children and 2 dogs and there was ample space for all of us. We had the choice of all being together or the youngsters could have their own space in the other sitting room if they wanted to. We all enjoyed the tennis court and snooker room but gave the swimming pool a miss due to the time of year - february. We would like to go again in the future. Debbie from Ely (20 February 2015)
The house is lovely and in such a beautiful location . very comfortable and a good time had by all . very lucky with weather & got to appreciate the countryside . Lisa from Northaw (03 October 2014)
Beautiful house, nice location, lovely grounds. We had a really fantastic time there. Hard to find though . Angela from Kent (12 September 2014)
Beautiful old house, plenty of space for everyone. The swimming pool was the highlight for us, very well heated and clean. The grounds were plentiful and well kept too. Fring is a very quiet location but nearby to many attractions if desired. A lovely place for a relaxing holiday. Heather from Didcot (29 August 2014)
The owner met us at the property and gave us a guided tour and explained everything we needed to know. which was very helpful. The house was very clean and spacious for our family of 10 plus dogs. really enjoyed the tennis court and swimming pool. the games room was a real bonus and was well used. The house was huge and took a day or two to find your bearings. our 5yr old said it was great place for hide and seek. all the bedrooms were a good size and with so many bathrooms their were never any queues (bliss). from the drive way we could see deer running through the field opposite. The sunday roast was cooked beautifully in the aga. we all had a great time and would definitely recommend it. Sarah from Stockton On Tees (25 July 2014)
We loved the house & space & all the facilities. the only problem we had was with the internet, and the owners tried to solve this quickly. Heather from Winchester (18 July 2014)
We were very pleased with our stay. This is our 2nd year at white house farm. We are only four people and two dogs - and pleanty of space. Just the kind of environment we wanted - we could swim and play tessins as we plased. The dogs wanted to play tennis as well - that a challange. We loved it and loved it Erik from Kenley (27 June 2014)
We had a delightful time at white house farm. Overall, the facilities (including the extensive grounds) are excellent, the location very peaceful, and the property attractively furnished. We particularly liked having the living room with tv etc. And the drawing room for those who preferred peace and quiet. All told, we highly recommend the property. Gordon from Leicester (30 May 2014)
A wonderful period property set in beautiful countryside .a very comfortable home full of charm with lots of space to spread out . especially liked the 'gin and tonic ' room ! Gill from Brentwood Essex (14 April 2014)
Well priced short break. Ideal for our family reunion. Dog friendly but would have appreciated knowing before booking that they are restricted to a couple of rooms, chocolate cake was appreciated by all. Confirmed Purchaser (16 March 2014)
White house farm exceeded our expectations, the photos don't do it justice! we had a brilliant time over the new year break here - the house is absolutely perfect for families, and the children loved all the space. Great games of hide and seek (adults as well), running around the gardens, and plenty of room for us all to sit around the table too. We would love to return in the summer and use the pool. Thank you! Gemma from Great Missenden (03 January 2014)
Fantastic place. Great for large groups and families. Would have liked a few more pots and pans (and lids for the casserole) but otherwise perfect. Matt from London (25 October 2013)
Pool, environment , tennis court, grounds, general space offered by the property. The owners were there to meet and greet us. Sue from Hertfordshire (08 Jul 2013)
Spacious, stunning location, excellent facilities. Confirmed Purchaser (24 May 2013)
A lovely old house with good big rooms and generally very well equipped. Anne from Govier (18 February 2013)
Best cottage i've stayed at. The owner met us to hand over the keys, and we were very impressed by the size of all the rooms, the good sized swimming pool and excellent snooker room (with dj booth!) Michael from Bromley, London (15 October 2012)
Accommodation was average Sylvia from Emson (05 October 2012)
So much space for our family of four families!. brilliant facilities for swimming and out door activities + snooker. Completely private. Lovely location with access to so much more John from Dunstable (17 August 2012)
Grand old house in pleasant farmland. Great countryside for cycling. Lovely villages and coastal walks. House has nice garden with swimming pool and snooker room. Nice dining room and outside spaces for largish gatherings of family or friends (say about 10 people). Customer 48 (August 2012)
Great place - good setting - well equipped Denise from Woodford Green (16 July 2012)
Lovely house in a fantastic location. Karen from Sheffield (08 June 2012)
A really lovely house in a beautifully peaceful location. The rooms are all very spacious and comfortable. Although near the sea, we hardly needed to leave the house - pool, tennis court and snooker table were enough to occupy all age groups from pensioners to pre-school age. I would highly recommend this house to anyone. Customer 51 (July 2011)
