For the 17th time we had a gorgeous holiday on the isle of wight thanks to (y)our wonderful chalet at westcliffe's. Harold from Amsterdam (28 July 2017)
The chalet is very comfortable - only reason for giving 8 rather than 10 is that it would be misleading to make it sound the same as a luxury cottage. the owners have made great use of the space and everything worked well. it is part of a small chalet park in a wonderful, quiet place surrounded by gardens, trees and wildlife. this particular chalet is good because it's on the end of a row, with a deck but all of them look as if they'd be good to stay in. . . there are great walks from the door, beaches within walking distance, a little supermarket in the village and reliable (though infrequent) buses so it's fine for people like us without a car, although most people who were there seemed to have cars and there's lots of parking space. Mary from London (02 June 2017)
Fantastic outlook cosy for two peaceful amazing wildlife including visiting badgers ! Karen from Beeston Nottingham (07 April 2017)
My wife and myself have been to this costal path cottage twice now. Both times it has been clean and tidy with all that you need for a quiet relaxing break. . there is always a lot to do and see on the island. We had a few wildlife visitors around the cottage while we were there. We saw rabbits, red squirrels and a badger who came to the door each night between 7.30 and 8.00pm looking for food. It seemed unafraid even when the door was open and the light was on. It is great having the wildlife come visit as most of the time you could look for ages and not see any. We were the only ones on the site the week we were there apart from someone who lived on the site and she was very friendly and helpful. Norman from Newcastle Upon Tyne (14 October 2016)
Had a great time as it was our honeymoon and found it so peaceful. It didn't take long to drive to places of interest Alison from Essex (30 September 2016)
The cottage was more of a chalet, it was slightly damp with musty smell, settee and chair were uncomfortable. The cutlery was dirty and the toilet seat, although new was the wrong seat for the loo and therefore when sat on,the seat slid sideways with a clunk ( most disconcerting) the position of the bifold bathroom door was too close to the bed for comfort. Stuart from Faversham, Kent (19 September 2016)
Great holiday, excellent value for money, we would definitely stay again, had a lovely welcome gift of a bottle of wine when we arrived, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clare from Northants (12 August 2016)
Major problems with damp (and we were there in summer at the end of june). in general the chalet is clean, but it is damp, and smells of damp. we had to wash many clean items when we got home due to them becoming tainted with the damp smell, and dispose of 2 pillows that we had taken with us. 30 x uneven concrete steps must be negotiated to get to the chalet. Very uncomfortable 'sofa'. . couldn't use the freezer compartment of the fridge, as the position didn't allow for the opening of the freezer door. The supplied coffee maker (a stove top 'moka pot') has a badly damaged seal so we decided not to risk using it. . the door to the bathroom is very narrow, so you have to turn sideways to get in, and then the bathroom itself is dangerous when wet and there is no visible warning of the small step between the 2 levels - a trip hazard as I found out. The toilet is very close to the bed, and the door is very thin, so it can be embarrassing using the toilet at night. . I could not in all conscience recommend this chalet to anyone. we spent as little time there as we could as the damp, and damp smell, were so depressing. Reg from Peterborough (01 July 2016)
The cottage was clean and well equipped but it was very small and rather cramped. There were clearly issues with damp in the bedroom and the bedding felt damp. the bed was also far from the most comfortable we have ever used. Janet from Preston (24 June 2016)
Very pleased with our stay the cottage had everything we needed and the surrounding area was peaceful and beautiful. Mark from Ringwood (30 May 2016)
We had a lovely weekend in this cosy chalet style cottage. There was a short power cut on our first night but we stayed warm under the blankets provide and were kept well informed of the situation. . the location was perfect for walking and exploring the island. The view over the trees to the sea was lovely even when the weather was not very kind. . if you are intending doing most of your own cooking I would recommend taking a decent non stick frying pan and a casserole dish, otherwise a well equipped kitchen. Lesley from Portsmouth (25 April 2016)
Furniture not comfortable, heating not adequate, hot water not available all the time. Confirmed Guest (18 April 2016)
Lovely cosy little cottage in a great location. great pub walking distance with good food and live music. Plenty of lovely walks. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Carol from Colchester (30 October 2015)
We had a very nice week at the coastal path cottage. It was very comfortable and clean and in a lovely quiet position very suitable for a relaxing holiday. It is also close to many attractions and amenities. Marilyn from Romford (16 October 2015)
The cottage was well appointed in a very nice location, unfortunately I would like to have seen it cleaned better, ie windows and mirrors needed cleaning, window sills, door frames, skirting boards, furniture needed to be moved to clean in corners etc. Pauline from Ashford (04 September 2015)
We had an amazing holiday, the weather was great, the decking area is a suntrap! 5 sightings of red squirrels just from the cottage. Local facilities were good, with excellent walks in local area. Corinne from Southampton (10 April 2015)
Good base with village within walking distance. Cottage within a secure area. Access to the cottage is up 30 steps so need to be fit yo get there. This was highlighted. Very quiet and peaceful. Gill from Lincoln (05 September 2014)
This is good property in a great place, you must go to the post office for breakfast. We have had several great stays here. It has changed ownership recently and has been given a spruce up which it has benefited from. Unfortunately for us the new owner has made it a no smoking property, so this last visit was indeed our last. Simon from London (26 July 2014)
We loved the cottage and enjoyed our stay just needs some tlc a change of shower curtain replace missing items wine glass etc Yvonne from Lamlash Isle Of Arran (21 September 2013)
Location excellent which is just as well as could not stay in accommodation during the day. In fact was tempted to leave and was forced to carry out own cleaning to make accommodation habitable. Bathroom is in serious need of a re vamp with dirt and damp throughout, shower area was a disgrace. Bedroom had large amount of damp through out including along back and side wall initially hidden by placement of bed. Blind to window covered in mold as well. Kitchen and living area slightly better appeared to have had fresh coat of paint, paint pots underneath spare bed! this is shown as a 3 star but we would place it as at least a 2 star not what we expected and we will not be returning. John from Buckinghamshire (31 August 2013)
Quiet, but only because other chalets were empty. David from Rochdale (15 Jun 2013)
A lovely location with badgers visible from the property. there was very easy access to the coast path and good walking. niton has all the facilities that we needed. the decking area outside was very pleasant Judy from High Peak (18 May 2013)
Good location, nice surroundings and excellent view, but through tree tops which was quite restricting. one of only a few of the chalets that had a 'sitting out' area, wouldn't have enjoyed our stay as much if it hadn't. Evan from Thornwood, Essex (22 September 2012)
Quiet end of terrace so no passing holidaymakers Nigel from Waterlooville Hants (18 August 2012)
Quiet. In good weather it would have been very pleasant Ken from Stokesley (07 July 2012)
Good facilities, well provided, good heating available, comfortable bed. Customer 26 (September 2010)
Quiet secluded spot, decking outside was a bonus.Nice clean chalet, within easy walking distance of al local amenities. Customer 27 (August 2010)
The chalet was fairly small but clean and had everything we needed. There were walking books and maps, and information on many tourist attractions in the chalet which was a great thought and really made our holiday - particularly the book of island walks. The kitchen had every utensil we needed along with a few cupboard essentials like cooking oil. It was in a very quiet location, but perfectly situated for access to coastal walks and local amenities and by short drive or long scenic walk to tourist attractions. There were a few problems with the digital television box cutting out but this was a minor problem. Customer 28 (September 2009)
Cosy chalet in a great position for exploring the island. Easy walking distance to two very nice pubs and village shop. Customer 29 (September 2007)
Lovely, secluded and private location with excellent ambience amongst the trees and the wonderful gardens with an enticing view of the sea through the foliage. The decking area was spacious and well used and the caretakers friendly and helpful. This was a perfect base for our walking holiday...we walked right from the door on several occasions. The property suited our needs perfectly. Will definitely be booking again, so don’t make it sound too good...we want to keep it our little secret! Customer 30 (July 2007)
Enjoyed the holiday weather and accommodation exellent, it was a beatiful area the week passed so quick. Customer 31 (June 2007)
