We had a lovely stay the house is roomy and in a good location for the shops and the quay. A second tv would have been useful and a wardrobe could sit comfortably on the landing giving extra hanging space. These are just observations not complaints . John from Spalding (11 August 2017)
Lovely cottage - just a pity there was only one shower and in the en suite - not very practical when you have 6 people staying. The bathroom is big enough for a shower and would definitely add value as a 4-bed cottage with two showers would be much more likely to get our booking next time. . wifi was temperamental - teenagers lees understanding than the adults. Karen from Leicester (21 July 2017)
Our seventh visit to wayfarer house. . . the location is excellent with its proximity to the shops and beach and it serves our extended family very well. the enclosed garden is very safe for the children and our dog. . . however the house needs an update, the mattresses on the single beds need replacing, the cupboards and garage need a clear out. it's a shame there isn't a shower in the main bathroom and the toilet cistern is noisy and does not fill to the right level to give a proper flush. the temperature of the shower in the en suite is difficult to regulate. Teresa from Matlock (02 June 2017)
A well priced, spacious cottage, very near to all the local amenities and quayside. Well stocked and comfortable. This is our second visit and this time the addition of a barrier at the bottom of the gate meant that we could let our dog out without fear of him escaping onto the road! although furnishings could do with updating it is still a very nice place to stay. Julie from Leicester (05 May 2017)
Great house fully enclosed garden and parking which was great. A very short walk to local amenities. Angela (20 March 2017)
We have been to wayfarer house a few times now love the house and its location Carolyn from Peterborough (13 March 2017)
Great cottage. Great location. Very comfortable would stay there again. Our only issue was that we paid extra for the winter fuel supplement and only got one basket of logs (8 logs at most). other than it was great. David from Durham (03 March 2017)
Lovely house but very difficult to book Confirmed Guest (24 February 2017)
Very comfortable and spacious house in an excellent location. We look forward to our next visit. Paul from Little Waltham (06 February 2017)
Very played with our choice. No sea views and the only reason the house did not score 10 for equipment was that a bulb had blown in one bedroom and the toilet flushing was noisy. Nice touch to have milk in the fridge and logs for the real fire. We would definitely return. Phil from Kingston Upon Thames (21 November 2016)
A lovely weekend break in november. Fantastic location. Close to all amenities. Plenty of room for a grown up family. Ample parking space for 3+ cars. Marie from Plenty Of Room For A Grown Up Family. Ample Parkin (14 November 2016)
Lovely cottage have stayed there many times. only problem now is booking usually book through english country cottages but following new layout of their site difficult to see where we put in the cottage details. at first no mention of wayfarer on site so telephoned and told I have to book through cottages .com then few minutes later when trying to book a second visit told I have to book through welcome cottages. When I explained I have never had so much trouble booking wayfarer over years I was told that calls to each of the above names come through to the same desk. Unbelievable. Next time I will telephone mrs woodhouse direct as that would save me a great deal on telephone calls. Ray from Billericay (14 October 2016)
Booked for two weeks next year Ann from Bridlington (23 September 2016)
Fantastic house and great location, just needs a little tlc in some places. Only one proper shower (the other in the main bathroom is just a shower head on the bath taps) isn't ideal but we stayed with family so all used the shower off the master bedroom. Liz from Peterborough (24 June 2016)
Excellent location ,lots of room ,dated interior ,good wifi,. no wardrobes in x3 rooms, not too much of an issue for a week. Fridge far too small we struggled with only 4 adults,no door shelf for milk so you have to lay it down then it leaks so the fridge whiffs a bit, this has been mentioned numerous times in the comments book so not just our opinion. Overall though a lovely house in a great location would return. Roger from St Ives Cambridge (10 June 2016)
Our sixth visit to wayfarer house. we love the location and the house suits our extended family very well. . the only criticisms are the lack of a second shower (the one in the bath is not adequate), the plumbing is very noisy and a larger fridge would be ideal. Teresa from Matlock (03 June 2016)
Lovely huge house, perfect for our young family + grandma. . unexpected bonuses were the wifi and the collection of toys / games / dvds / books in the lounge, and well stocked cupboards of leftover washing up liquid, cleaning sprays etc. . it's in a really good location, handy for the seafront / playground and also for the coop in the other direction. . the broken fridge door didn't bother us as we took one of the shelves out to make room to stand milk bottles etc upright. The plumbing noise in the en suite gave us all a fright the first night but we worked around it the rest of the time. . the only minor grievances were that the lounge rug was covered in dog hair - and so the children rapidly became covered in dog hair too as they played there - and the oven was pretty filthy. the rest of the house was lovely and clean though. . we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Anna from Wiltshire (13 May 2016)
Quiet location in the heart of wells-next-the-sea. Furnishings are getting jaded in the lounge and some kitchen equipment needs augmenting (no steak knives, frying pan lid or grill handle) or in some cases replacing. Fridge has broken bottle shelf, so severely reduced cool storage (been like it for at least 2 years now). does have wi-fi now, which was a great help. John from Long Eaton (06 May 2016)
The cottage was comfortable and very spacious for our party of six. It was well stocked and equipped for most needs. There was plenty of off road parking and the location was fantastic for all amenities. . the furnishings could do with an update and the fact that there were no shelves in the fridge door was frustrating as it meant milk, bottles etc couldn't be stood up, limiting space considerably. If you have a pet they can also easily slip under the gate( chicken wire underneath would easily solve this) the plumbing also made some peculiar noises!. however overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Julie from Leicester (22 April 2016)
This is our third time at this house always love our stay and close to all shops and lovely walks will be booking again next year Carolyn from Peterborough (14 March 2016)
Lovely cottage, but the fridge door was broken - this meant less room in the fridge which was already small, and difficult to keep all our christmas food fresh. heating also broke down but that was just our bad luck Heather from Spalding (28 December 2015)
Lovely cottage in an ideal location. Our only comment is that the suites of furniture in the lounge are getting a little tired Steve from Colchester (30 November 2015)
We had a lovely time at the cottage. It is in a quiet location, close to the sea and local shops. It is well furnished and very spacious with a homely feel. It is a warm house and felt very cosy when we visited in november. The heating is all covered in the additional winter fuel cost but logs for the fire are bought separately. We did have a fire most nights which was lovely. . . . there was quite a loud noise when flushing the toilet which was only a problem at night. . . we really had a lovely break at the wayfarer house and would recommend this property to others to visit. Alison from Bedford (16 November 2015)
Fantastic location , comfortable house just needs minor upgrade , new fridge, sofas and light fittings need mending and upgrading Lynn from Chesterfield (09 November 2015)
Our fifth stay at this great house, real value for money. So close to the quaint wells high street. One small moan the cottages for you details say that fuel for first night i.e. Logs/coal is provided, none was, the log basket was empty in the garage, therefore we unable to have a fire until our second night when we had time to buy fuel in the high street. After all we do have to pay a £35 fuel supplement! . overall a lovely holiday. Kevin from Leighton Buzzard (16 October 2015)
Perfect location and a beautiful cottage Elizabeth from Coventry (25 September 2015)
Spacious. Very well equipped. Safe garden for children to play in. Close to centre. plenty of parking space. Sitting room chairs getting a bit old. It would have been nice to have had a fitted shower above the bath. Fridge bottle holder missing/broken. Fault on shower repaired very rapidly. Anthony from Welwyn (14 August 2015)
Perfect position. Only criticism was that the three piece suite could do with an upgrade. Hilary from Cambridge (31 July 2015)
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House is well equipped. Central heating a bit noisy in the master bedroom, but that is a tiny negative. Our small dog enjoyed the garden, but it would have been helpful if the front gates had been 'dog proof' so she could be allowed to roam at will. Barry from South Croydon (03 April 2015)
Had a great time, norfolk has been a favourite of ours for years. The house was perfect. Lynn from Warfield, Berkshire (02 March 2015)
A highly enjoyable week's holiday. The house is only five minutes from the quay and wonderful shops and eateries, and a very drive or pleasant walk to the stretches of beautiful sandy beaches. Wayfarer house is warm, comfortable and welcoming. Karen from Birmingham (20 February 2015)
Our fourth xmas week we have spent here, love the house and love wells high street Kevin from Leighton Buzzard (28 December 2014)
A lovely detached house about 100 metres from wells quayside and the shops. Three excellent pubs in walking distance. A new co-operative store and the existing nisa in wells makes it easy to get what you need without using a car. The real issue with the property is the lack of wifi which we found to be a problem; I talked to the owners about it and they are already getting installation of wifi sorted. The globe inn has free wifi, so we had to do banking and tourist info searching there (beer and food were good though). tv is dated and lacks channel 48, may be others. Furnishings are well used, but comfortable. Kitchen equipment is lots of bits, rather than sets (saucepans, glasses etc). we were there in november and the heating was good, house very warm and cosy. Dog walking is a doddle as 400metres gets you to a field adjacent to the sea where you can free-run your pet (don't forget to clean up after them). this is our second visit and with wifi going in, we will no doubt be there again soon. John from Long Eaton, Notts (28 November 2014)
We have already booked for next year. we have stopped at this property ever since it was first offered for a holiday let. . we always enjoy our stay. We find that sometimes the property would benefit from a deep clean. There was a smell of dog in the ground floor this year. The decoration although refreshed a year or so ago would benefit from recovering in some places. On going a small amount of work now and again would I think help keep the good standard that I am certain the owner strives to maintain. Like wise with the furniture. Some of the easy chairs although now in the bedrooms have been there since day one. My pillow was well past its sell by date. The same with some of the crockery. This could do with replacing with the white service supplied a year or so. The property would benefit from wifi access. This is quite widely available in holiday lets now and would be of great help to me as I have to work whilst on holiday! please take these as constructive observations. It's a pity that some guests clearly do not treat properties with consideration. I suppose its all part of the letting business and we all pay as a result. Malcolm from Leicester (25 July 2014)
Lovely house, well situated, plenty of space for 3 generations. Space for parking off the road, nice garden. well equiped but wifi would be a great addition and is probably the only thing lacking. We loved being close to the town for the lovely independant shops, pubs and restaurants. We had a lovely, relaxing break and would definately return to this property again. Colleen from Suffolk (13 June 2014)
The showers should be upgraded to improve the facilities. Customer 36 from Matlock (30 May 2014)
This was our 4th weekend stay in wayfarer house. as usual we all enjoyed this spacious and comfortable property. very central and quiet location. I am sure we will be back again. Patricia from Peterborough (10 March 2014)
Great place to stay if walking is your thing..hopper bus stops right outside. Jacqueline from Burscough (03 March 2014)
Whilst it did not matter a great deal to us for the type of long weekend we had planned, we felt that the holiday file and/or other information about the area was largely missing. It is a big plus when comprehensive information is available. Otherwise, the house was very well equipped, well situated, and a pleasure to stay in. Richard from Oundle (20 January 2014)
Fantastic cottage, the only downside was lack of wifi access and the oven could have benefited from a clean, otherwise we had a great time and would definitely go back. Carrie from London (18 November 2013)
This has been the 5th time we have been at this particular place and it always lives up to expectations. it is well located, not far from the shops and harbour and a lovely quiet place at night. Bromley from Peterborough (13 September 2013)
Very good location. Lovely garden. Very quiet and away from road. Lots of space. Very comfortable and relaxing. Toys were appreciated. Very well equipped. Lorna from Ipswich (28 Jun 2013)
Location Jane from Wellesbourne (21 Jun 2013)
All amenities that you need with plenty of room. Loved the location with the quayside and shops only minutes away. The garage housed a hired mobility scooter for my husband which was superb as it allowed him access to see all of wells. Loved it so much we have booked it again for 2 weeks in 2014. Lorraine from Sheffield (10 May 2013)
Good location, plenty of parking, bedrooms good sizes. Adequate equipment in the kitchen and plenty of dvds to watch - thank you. Emily from Ipswich (05 April 2013)
Recently redorated, lounge layout changed for the better Kevin from Leighton Buzzard (28 December 2012)
Its well positioned for shops, seafront and coasthopper bus , very spacious and very clean. The welcome pack of wine, milk and crisps were a nice touch.lots of parking space- many cottages in wells do not have any parking. Very quiet of road location. Janice from Norwich (05 October 2012)
Location in wells next the sea has a lovely private garden and is a very spacious house Valerie from Kempston (24 August 2012)
Wayfarer House is a comfortable and spacious house in a good location close to the heart of Wells-next-the Sea. Lots of good beaches nearby, crabbing on the Quay, easy to walk into Wells to see the comings and goings of the tide. Customer 49 (April 2012)
Excellent location for all aspects of visiting the area. Customer 50 (March 2012)
This is our 12th visit to Wayfarer house and the first time we have been at New Year. The house is fantastic and in a great location. If you want a special meal, we can highly recommend the Orange Tree at Thornham (about half an hours drive). They cater really well for children and the food was fabulous. Of course Frenches fish and chip shop is the best in the land! We will miss going this summer but will return soon. Customer 51 (December 2011)
We all enjoyed our stay in this lovely house which is perfectly situated in Wells. The only problem we had was with the en-suite shower which needs attending to. Other than that everything was perfect. Customer 52 (March 2011)
Excellent location near all amenities. Lovely big house for a large family. Lots of parking and fully enclosed for dogs. Customer 53 (February 2011)
It is in a good location, not too far from anything. Customer 54 (September 2010)
The property is in an ideal location - few mins walk to wells. Good sized garden for kids and dog. Customer 55 (August 2010)
The property was a lot bigger than we expected and of a high standard. Customer 56 (February 2010)
Good location. Well equipped. Customer 57 (January 2010)
Excellent location. Customer 58 (December 2009)
Proximity to the town centre and the harbour. Plenty of parking and away from the road. Customer 59 (September 2009)
An easy home to move into, good size, wrap around garden loved by children. Customer 60 (August 2009)
Ideal location to explore the North Norfolk coast. Customer 61 (May 2009)
The house was in a great location near the front, but still quiet. We would certainly stay there again. Customer 62 (March 2009)
Very welcoming, very close for shops pubs etc, very close to Harbour for lovely walks or just watching the boats come and go. Customer 63 (September 2008)
We would rent again. Customer 64 (September 2008)
The Wayfarer was a lovely big house with a fabulous galleried landing and plenty of space throughout. Our toddler loved running round the outside of house in the walled garden - one of the best houses we have stayed in. Customer 65 (June 2008)
Children’s equipment was much appreciated, high chair, cot, stair gate, children’s cutlery and plates and plenty of books and games. Customer 66 (March 2008)
Wayfarer House was lovely and the location really good being so close to the quay and convenient for local shops. Excellent spot for access to country estates and both coastal, river and inland walks. We took 2 dogs and the garden was ideal as very well fenced. Highly recommended and we would love to go again. Customer 67 (June 2006)
Beautiful house and a great central location with particularly good communal areas for a good-sized family group. Customer 68 (February 2006)
