The most quiet, peaceful holiday we have experienced. just what we needed to rest & relax. lovely comfortable & clean accommodation. Alan from Spalding Lincs (22 July 2017)
For us the cottage was ideal, and everything about it. We do hope we can manage another break there soon Harry from Suffolk (17 June 2017)
A great spot to stay! Malcolm from Milford On Sea (01 April 2017)
We only had a very short three days at this wonderful location. We were warmly welcomed and shown around the cottage. It is very clean, tidy and there is everything you need. The grounds are magnificent, wildlife is magical and if you like walking, photography, painting or just need peace and quiet this is the most wonderful place. Lynda from Birmingham (31 May 2016)
My tenth visit inside four years to one of my very favourite holiday locations.so many attractions within easy reach of the cottage.on this occasion I visited pensthorpe and sheringham park(nt) for the first time.also, four norfolk churches among many that are open to the public. . I am already booked to return at the beginning of october. Roger from Aylesford,Kent (21 May 2016)
A fantastic peaceful location - slightly out of the way for a late holiday due to there being. No lighting at all - therefore if we went out we made sure we were back before dusk. . however the welcome and thoughtfulness of the owner was without question and we. Would certainly consider staying there again - maybe during the summer months. Confirmed Guest from No Lighting At All - Therefore If We Went Out We M (03 November 2015)
Warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Told not to bring anything but food and clothing,. as everything else was provided, that was no understatement, everything one could need was provided. . wonderful location for peace and quiet and the daily visits of various wildlife was most entertaining. Thoroughly enjoyed our week. Would recommend this cottage to anyone. . on arriving home received a phone call from owner to check we had got home safely!!!! Francis from Bury St Edmunds (19 September 2015)
Beautiful location in wooded area - surrounded by wildlife yet only 20 minutes walk from north walsham. The photograph does not do the property justice as it does not reflect the feeling of the idyllic surroundings Adam from Buckingham (29 August 2015)
A very pleasant cottage in beautiful surroundings. We were rather unlucky with the weather but overall it was a lovely few days. Gloria from High Wycombe (15 June 2015)
Absolutely idyllic setting! was a wonderful base for exploring the area! the owner could not do enough for us! the most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. Alison from Earby (05 June 2015)
Ideal spot for peace and quiet. Bryan from Loughborough (07 June 2014)
Lovely! Jim from Ashill, Thetford (03 May 2014)
We loved it there even though it was november, it was warm, very quiet and close to nature, the cottage was very well presented and the owner couldn't have been more helpful, hoping to go there during the summer of 2014. Frank from Northampton (22 November 2013)
Wonderful location if you like seclusion , which we do. Owner extremely helpful and pleasant Confirmed Purchaser (26 October 2013)
The owner, geoff, is a real gentleman and the perfect host. the cottage was equipped way beyond our expectations and geoff added lovely touches like flowers, wine and ice cream. his local knowledge was very helpful to us when we were planning what to do during our stay. although he did not intrude he was always available when needed and happy to have a chat. the wildlife was a real plus to our stay. We have no reservations about recommending this cottage for couples looking to get away from it all. Peter from Basingstoke (17 August 2013)
If you are looking for a quiet and cosy country retreat away from the hussle and bustle, and yet only a very short drive or half hour stride from shops and services, look no further. The bungalow nestles within a country estate bustling with wildlife and would be a perfect choice for rest and recuperation or bird-watchers. This is clearly a 'home' filled with love and reflects this in it's dated but charming décor. It was rather like a trip back in time to visit grandma's for sunday lunch. However, the kitchen was more than adequate with thoughtful provision of all the necessities, and the bungalow was spotless. The armchairs could do with up-dating with a modern couch, perhaps but it was ok. The bathroom shower would seriously benefit from up-dating as a taller and larger person would struggle! I always find carpet in a bathroom a bit unhygienic too. (just my personal viewpoint). also please offer new unused products in the bathroom. . the owner is a charming friendly elderly gentleman who lives quietly in the adjacent farmhouse with his helpers and an adorable and friendly dog. Gentle folk will love this retreat, but possibly not right for a youngsters who expect mod cons. A rare and unexpected find which I hope will remain available and unspoilt with a few tweeks as mentioned above in the future. Confirmed Purchaser from Hampshire (20 Jul 2013)
Wonderful scenery. Easy for touring. most helpful owner charming man. we hope to go again. we enjoyed every minute. Gabrielle from Nuneaton (13 Jul 2013)
Location and cleanliness. Sue from Gloucester (13 May 2013)
Everything possible was provided there and central heating excellent as weather was quite cold for time of year.. quiet, secluded and tranquil spot with lots of wild life to see. very private if that's what you like (we did!) also cottage spacious. John from Chelmsford City (10 May 2013)
As we were looking for some peace and quiet the 22 acre estate, with only the lovely geoff for company, (my wife's words !) was ideal.we have already booked to return in november.the couple staying the two weeks before us were making their eighth visit.i think this says it all ! Roger from Aylesford,Kent (29 September 2012)
Ideal quiet location for people who appreciate wildlife. The owner was a fantastic helpful host. Don’t miss Norfolk wildlife Trust centres at Hickling Broad, Cley Mashes and Ranworth broad. Customer 21 (July 2012)
A beautiful, peaceful location. You can really get away from it all, yet it is not far to north walsham itself. It was a delight to watch the antics of the cheeky squirrels every morning and spot the other wildlife, including young deer. The owner was so very friendly and kind but never intruded. Gladys from Angus (23 June 2012)
Really enjoyed the peace and quiet and wildlife Martin from Dukinfield, Cheshire (09 June 2012)
This was a lovely cottage in a delightful location. It was a joy to watch the comings and goings of the wildlife, from cheeky squirrels to shy deer. It was so peaceful - a real break away from the rat race. The owner was kind and very welcoming but did not intrude on our time there. This is the perfect place to completely unwind and relax but there are also many and varied attractions in the area overall. It was a very enjoyable holiday and we can’t wait for our next visit there. Customer 24 (June 2012)
If your idea of a fantastic holiday is to be in a quiet, tranquil location in an area full of wildlife, staying in a place that feels home from home, then make a beeline for this place. The owner could not have been more welcoming. All the equipment you will need for a stay are provided e.g. cutlery, cling film. I guess the only downside was the lack of a sofa to cuddle up in front of the open fire but this is a really minor point. We saw Red and Muntjac deer, a barn owl, lots of pheasant and heard Tawny owls and we were not really looking that hard. Location is great in that you are close enough to civilisation for food and entertainment, yet out of the way enough to relax in tranquillity. Access to great countryside and other interesting places is easy. All in all a wonderful place. Customer 25 (December 2011)
Extremely quiet location situated down a woodland drive. Property surrounded by wildlife i.e birds, deer, rabbits, squirrels. Close to many RSPB sites and National Trust Properties. A must for anybody who likes to be isolated! Customer 26 (September 2011)
Peaceful surroundings, very quiet location, great for the broads. Customer 27 (February 2011)
The semi woodland setting was delightful and it was a pleasure to watch the abundant wildlife. The close proximity of the Weavers Way footpath was a bonus leading as it does to the centre of North Walsham itself. Customer 28 (August 2010)
This was a welcome return to the property, and it was every bit as good as our first stay, even the weather behaved itself. Customer 29 (September 2009)
The property was very clean, more than adequately stocked. Customer 30 (August 2009)
Received a warm welcome from the owners. The property was comfortable and spacious with character. We enjoyed the patio outside with its bench and table, especially as many songbirds could be observed observed feeding. Large grounds with lots of wildlife. Plenty of privacy, peace and quiet. Customer 31 (August 2009)
The cottage is in lovely secluded position surrounded by trees. If you want to wake up with birds, squirrels, rabbits and the occasional Dear this is the place to be. Although the owners house is adjacent to the cottage they are never obvious. Customer 32 (July 2009)
Walsham Wood Cottage is perfectly situated for a relaxing, away-from-it-all holiday. It is also very close to many other attractions, shopping and other essential amenities. Customer 33 (June 2009)
Great location if you want to get away from it all and recharge your batteries, as well as being ideally situated for the many attractions of the area. Customer 34 (June 2009)
