Where to begin? 'cottage' does not begin to do this place justice. neither does 'lodge' or the photos on the website. it feels a bit more like a small country house. partly that's because of the build quality: solid stone floors and spiral staircase, two-inch-thick gothic doors, stained glass windows, chandeliers, etc. partly it's the spacious proportions and extraordinarily generous amenities: massive kitchen with every conceivable appliance; lovely bedrooms, extra-comfortable beds; sprawling suite of sitting rooms; loads of thoughtful extra touches (e.g. 3 wifi routers, because the signal doesn't travel through the two foot-thick stone walls; dozens of board games; perhaps 100 dvds). yet everything seems brand new, including all the paintwork and woodwork. Location's great as well: beautiful view from the conservatory; beautifully kept garden; easy to find; groceries available in village just a few steps away; plenty of local walks; and weeks' worth of activities within a one-hour radius of enjoyable driving in every direction. look after it for us, please: we'll be back. Howard from Oxford (04 August 2017)
An extremely beautiful and spacious family home. Immaculately clean. Decorated to an extremely high standard. Perfect location. View of mountains from back of the house. Owner has provided everything, from toiletries and cleaning materials to games and dvd's to keep everyone occupied if you're staying in. Perfect, perfect holiday residence. Lubna (28 July 2017)
Victoria lodge was a absolute fantastic property and a great experience. We stayed with three kids there end of may 2017 and everything was perfect. Received a welcome package in advance, so planning was easy before arriving. The property was fabulous. An old chapel furnished by an well experienced and talented hand. The equipment in the house was astonishing. There was nothing, that we missed!. the town was perfect to start tours by cycle or just for walking. I really can recommend victoria lodge for all kind of visitors: group of people, who want to make sport, families who wants to recover etc. Confirmed Guest (02 June 2017)
Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Well equipped and very clean. you'll want for nothing in this house! Samantha from Stoke On Trent (28 October 2016)
A spacious, well equipped and interesting conversion of former chapel, set in a quiet village, local spa, pub and small hotel, about 15 mins from bets y coed, which has plenty to offer, an ideal spot for exploring snowdonia national park, . the property would suit groups of friends or extended families, very large comfortable and clean, if a lot of stairs!, but that's good practice for snowdon, Phillip from Burton Upon Trent (17 October 2016)
Victoria lodge is absolutely beautiful. Plenty of space to sit in the evening and the kitchen is a joy to cook and eat in. We found lots of items that were useful: toiletries, games, dvds and sundry food stuffs like salt and oil which were great. A couple of tiny niggles like the dishwasher was broken (which we told them about and they said they immediately ordered a new one) and the showery temperature upstairs seemed stuck on super hot but overall it was everything we wanted and the location was spot on. Liz from Leamington Spa (02 September 2016)
Outstanding property lovely location perfect Dylan from London (15 July 2016)
Lovely property in brilliant location. Customer 8 from Somerset (08 July 2016)

A great place to stay, everything that you need is here and nothing is too much trouble. Samantha from Aylesbury (14 August 2015)
Outstanding accommodation. luxurious, a real treat. Anne-Marie from Swansea (31 July 2015)
We had a lovely time staying a victoria lodge. it was an experience staying in a converted chapel and we would stay there again. the conversion has been very tastefully done, plenty of space for all of us (5 adults and 2 small children) and very comfortable and well equipped. Margaret from Isle Of Wight (22 May 2015)
We love this holiday house and love returning. Only negative comments are the fridge/freezer size which don't really work for a group over the week. Rachel from Ashford (08 May 2015)
Second time we have stayed here with our sons and their partners. The sheer size of the lodge enables people to do activities apart, or as a group.lovely surroundings, great for walking and touring and in our case for the lads to do their downhill biking.we were lucky that the weather was fine throughout the week. 10/10 for victoria lodge from us and well deserved Les from Birmingham (05 December 2014)
This place was beautiful! 6 star plus - couldn't have asked for more! Diane from Liverpool (24 October 2014)
Victoria lodge had everything and more, ..the weather was superb so we were able discover more of the local area in utter sunshine. . the rating says 5* and really it should be higher everything is top notch and immaculately presented. Would love to stay again. Lynn from Beverley (03 October 2014)
Unique holiday home converted to a very high standard situated in a small village perfectly placed for visiting all the good tourist spots. the house is spread over 3 floors so there is plenty of room and finding a quiet area to read or do something different from other guests isn't an issue. equipped with everything you need for your stay from loo rolls to hair irons we found we wanted for nothing. Having received a comprehensive info pack via post from the owners it was a surprise to find so much more regarding the area when we arrived, we do these type of holidays regularly and this property stands head & shoulders above the rest because of the work the owners have put in when putting together the house information folders. we packed so much into our week because of the amount of info at hand so full marks to the owners for taking the time to provide such a service. . great pub 2mins away which serves very good home cooked food & very friendly staff & locals. . our party of 6 adults spilt up to do different things in different directions at times and meeting up back at the house was certainly a lovely treat each evening. Days out included conwy castle, portmerion, porthmadog, beddgelert, llanberis, trip on the snowdon railway & bodnant gardens all of which were a very short car journey away. The chapel is perfect for visiting north wales and the surrounding area, I will certainly be recommending it to anyone who is looking for something a little bit different. Anne from Durham (26 September 2014)

A great cottage to stay at very comfortable, beautifully decorated and in a lovely location. Amrat from Coventry (07 October 2013)
Well thought out, everything to hand and lovely location. Decoratively it was amazing beautiful colour schemes and very comfortable. Really enjoyed the conservatory and garden.easy to find loved the walks direct from the house but so close to all the castles and to bigger shops than the local spar. Penny from Brockenhurst Hants (14 Jun 2013)
The house was amazing, very clean and tidy and beautifully decorated. Jacqueline from Aylesbury (05 April 2013)
Amazing central location for a wide variety of natural and man-made attractions. Beautifully refurbished chapel with all the mod-cons. Friendly people and excellent service and follow up from the owners gave this place a real personal touch Tracey from Denham (22 February 2013)
Victoria lodge is every bit as lovely as it looks in the photographs and is superbly equipped. Absolutely everything has been provided to make your stay a very enjoyable one and all fixtures and fittings includng linen, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc are of a very high standard. Much, much better than expected in a rental property. The owners are extremely thoughtful, the morning of our departure it snowed and they rang to say that if we were worried about journeying home in the snow it would be no problem for us to stay on. I dont think many owners would take that trouble. Full marks to clive and julie and to victoria lodge. All are 5*plus. . . Eileen from Brighton (04 February 2013)
Everything that I would need at home was at the lodge. very clean and spacious. nice kitchen for family to eat and chat and then cosy lounge to relax after a hard days walk. Ann from High Wycombe (23 November 2012)
Victoria Lodge was a beautiful property, it exceeded our expectations, much bigger than what we anticipated. We were blessed with really good weather even though it was the end of October. Customer 37 (October 2012)
FANTASTIC!!!!!! The owners have thought of everything with no expense spared. Thanks again to the owners & yourselves. Great job!! Customer 38 (October 2012)
A beautiful place to stay, very quirky. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need. The area is scenic and there are plenty of places to go (brochures and maps supplied) and walks in the area. Local shop and pub near by. Customer 39 (September 2012)
One word. Outstanding. Excellent. Customer 40 (September 2012)
What impressed us most about this property was how considerate and helpful the owners were. Before we arrived at the property we got a letter with helpful leaflets about local attractions, a telephone call and an email. We also received a telephone call while we were at the property to make sure everything was okay. We've been renting holiday cottages for years and never come across this level of care before. As for the property itself, beautiful and just as set out in the advertisement. Colin from Colchester (03 August 2012)
We enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Victoria Lodge - a stunning chapel conversion full of period features and offering superb contemporary accommodation too. We absolutely loved the house and the area, and found the location mid-way between Betws-y-Coed (with excellent restaurants) and Blaenau Ffestiniog ideal. Even the weather was pretty good! Very nice caring touches from the owners too such as a personal phone call a couple of days before we arrived, much appreciated. Customer 42 (July 2012)

Excellent chapel conversion with large very well furnished communal rooms & groundfloor bedroom with en-suite (perfect for those less mobile family members). very large, well-appointed kitchen. Large outdoor areas with room to park several cars if required. Quiet location with scenic surroundings but centrally located in dolwyddelan with easy access to surrounding places of interest. Would definitely visit again. David from Hockley, Essex (22 June 2012)
Beautiful and very different cottage in superb location, extremely well equipped and presented. Steve from Woodbridge, Suffolk (25 May 2012)
Fabulous accommodation in a beautiful area John from Newquay (30 April 2012)
Can only highly recommend Victoria Lodge to anyone who appreciates quality accommodation. Fabulous. Customer 47 (April 2012)
The location and facilities offered by this property could not be improved. The house was immaculately clean on arrival, yet still felt like a home. It was an excellent property from which to explore the sites and attractions of this part of North Wales. Staff at the local Spar are very friendly and informative. Portmeirion was an excellent choice of day trip, as was the Llechwedd Slate Mines. However it is the proximity to the great variety of walks that allows this property to stand out. Customer 48 (February 2012)
A great place to stay, especially for Christmas. Would highly recommend it. Customer 49 (December 2011)
Fantastic accommodation fully equipped, wanted for nothing... The most beautiful property I’ve stepped foot in. Would recommend to anyone. Customer 50 (December 2011)
Victoria Lodge is in a class of its own. It was more like staying in a country home than a cottage. A lot of work had been done by the owners to get things just right. Customer 51 (October 2011)
The property was luxurious and yet homely. It was truly a 5 star gold award property. Customer 52 (September 2011)
Excellent accommodation exceeded our expectations. Would recommend this property to friends and relatives - superb. Customer 53 (August 2011)
This is an absolutely stunning property with everything you could wish for (and more). Great location for walking in Wales with some walks right on the door step of the lodge. Handy local spa shop just around the corner which sells most things you need at reasonable prices. We will be returning to enjoy more nights in this fantastic accommodation. Customer 54 (February 2011)

The accommodation couldn’t be faulted. It had every facility and was in an ideal location for exploring the area particularly if you like walking. We would have liked more cutlery in the kitchen but apart from that it was a fantastic stay - perfect for 6 adults who want to have a good time. Customer 62 (February 2010)
Victoria Lodge was absolutely stunning. The house was well equipped, beautifully decorated and furnished. It was a real home away from home, there was nothing lacking. Customer 63 (February 2010)
Fantastic accommodation. A great location and amazing facilities. We loved it! Customer 64 (May 2009)
I am sometimes slightly disappointed when I arrive somewhere as the accommodation is not as nice as I expected, but we could not believe how beautiful the property was. The rooms were as big and as nice as they looked on the website. Customer 65 (May 2009)
