Clean and comfortable Sandra (01 July 2017)
Lovely, comfortable place to stay, good base for attractions. George from Durham (10 June 2017)
The instructions to find the stables were accurate and easy to follow. it was comfortable and all the basics were there, but they were basic. I have never had such a poor welcome pack, two teabags, a little milk and sugar and two thin chocolate biscuits. there were two draws full of out of date leaflets for the surrounding area, some dating back to 09. The biggest draw back was the water heating arrangement. It did heat up quite quickly but you had to remember to turn it off all the time. not something I wanted to worry about on holiday. Elaine from York (13 May 2017)
We found on arrival the bedroom furniture dusty and some or the kitchen crockery not washed properly so having to wash all items that we needed before use also some of the pots and pans past their use by date.it would also have been nice to have had contact with the owners at some point during the week. On the plus side we found the bed and lounge furniture comfortable and the stables in a nice quite position . Trevor from Ipswich (29 April 2017)
All ok Dave from Essex (01 April 2017)
We stayed at the stables in january and february (awaiting our own building project to be completed) and it coped with our requirements admirably despite electric heating and -4 deg outside at times! . would highly recommend for a couple exploring this most fabulous region. Steve from Perth Australia (18 February 2017)
A charming stable conversion in a quintessential english village. the food at the dabbling duck is excellent although it is advisable to book in advance. the village shop is on hand for any last minute essentials. a stay here guarantees peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Dave from Sutton, Surrey (20 August 2016)
Very nice village and surroundings. . local shop and post office all together,a very enjoyable holiday Robert from Stoke-On-Trent (21 May 2016)
Good cottage for an older couple-no noise except church bell. Bit strange not to have windows in kitchen/lounge and bedroom. Glazed entrance gets incredibly hot and there is no ventilation. Robert from Cheshire (23 April 2016)
A beautiful village location. Lovely, comfortable accommodation with everything you need for a relaxing break. Great base for exploring norfolk. Lynne from Milton Keynes (29 August 2015)
A lovely location and we'll kept accommodation. Only real problem is that windows in roof are fine but if wet you have to close them and the temperature can get stuffy. Alan from Cambridge (22 August 2015)
Quality accommodation in a lovely village. Phillip from Cardiff (25 July 2015)
The location of the cottage was ideal for the big cities. The sofas could do with updating for extra comfort. Overall it was a nice cottage with friendly hosts and cats! Alice from South Shields (18 July 2015)
The place was lovely but it was a bit strange not having a window to look out of. . the settees needed replacing so we had to sit on dining chairs all the time. Confirmed Guest (11 July 2015)
The stables is a very tastefully converted 'stable' ( hence the name). the roof windows were good only thing we missed was a window in the wall to look out of in the evenings. It is a pretty village, complete with duck ponds, ideally situated to explore the area leaving the village from many different directions. Ray from Derby (20 June 2015)
A pleasant place to stay with good space and comfort. Takes a little to get used to not having wall windows to look out of! Confirmed Guest (09 May 2015)
The owners of the stables are so very friendly and helpful and the we would stay there again. the village is beautiful and really quaint. Valerie from Basildon (27 September 2014)
Lovely accommodation, very clean and tidy with good facilities. Good place to be based in for exploring the area and a very beautiful village. People at the pub friendly, good beer but menu a tad fancy and pricey. David from Nottingham (23 August 2014)
Lovely cottage location excellent for us and there is a great pub across the road servicing great food and very friendly and welcoming staff. Karin from Auckland New Zealand (19 July 2014)
This cottage was rated as a 4* but we feel that this was certainly not the case, more like a 2*. it was very tired & needs to be overhauled. The shower is little more then a dribble, both sofas are soft, saggy & uncomfortable. The fitting around the bathroom basin is broken. The cleanliness could have been better (i had to scour the mugs to remove tea stains!) there was a layer of dust on the skirting board & flowers. Sue from Worthing (12 July 2014)
Great massingham is a small village with one pub over the road from the stables. The village is ideally placed, meaning many places of interest were easily accessible. The stables accommodation, although adequate, is in some need of updating. The shower in particular was very disappointing - a dribble at best! we both found the 2 seater sofas uncomfortable and the outside 'patio furniture' very basic. . having said this, the accommodation is very reasonably priced. Excellent local information is provided and the kitchen is well equipped. The bed is one of the most comfortable we have slept in! the local village shop was open when we arrived which meant that we could buy essentials such as coffee, bread and milk. A good job, as the 'welcome' tray consisted of enough to make one cup of tea and one biscuit! Novlyn from Earby, Barnoldswick (28 June 2014)
Brilliant location, ducks on the village ponds nearby, houghton hall and castle acre not far away. Plenty of attractions, we visited blakeney and took the coastal walk to cley with its windmill, and if you like wildfowl pensthorpe is well worth a visit. holkham beach is recommended. The african violet centre at terrington st clement is not recommended as it is a tired nursery in dire need of some investment. The only african violets on show were very small plants and not what we expected. . Brian from Cranleigh (24 May 2014)
We were very pleased with our holiday rental. the owners had laid out a tea tray for our welcome which was wonderful. Could not fault anything. Thank you Julie from Ipswich, Suffolk (25 November 2013)
Comfortable and clean, quiet, good parking, helpful and welcoming hosts Brian from Bedford (18 May 2013)

Good location from which to explore north norfolk Christine from Ripon (11 August 2012)
Super location, picturesk village with a pub that serves good beer and good food. The interior of the cottage was excellent but I thought the outside I needed some attention particularly the broken window panel. Customer 27 (June 2012)
Wifi is available in the pub (Dabbling Duck) across the green. Customer 28 (July 2011)
Good central location for North Norfolk and situated in a lovely village. Accomodation very clean and well appointed (best SC we have had). Customer 29 (July 2011)
Excellent accommodation, Good food at local pubs, Fox and Hounds at Weasenham and Rose and Crown at Harpley. Customer 30 (July 2011)
Convenient, comfortable residence. Pleasant village aspect with good food and atmosphere at local pub, the ’Dabbling Duck’. Easy village walks for a stroll after evening meal. We found the region interesting and varied in amenities, with some pleasant longer walks. Customer 31 (April 2011)
