A lovely stay in this beautiful village. Having the tennis court made the holiday perfect for the kids, would definitely return. Jenny from North Yorkshire (05 August 2017)
Excellent place for a quiet break David from Windsor (22 July 2017)
An excellent property in a very peaceful and relaxing location. David from Edinburgh (08 July 2017)
On arrival we were met by burt, who showed us around the property. he was very helpful in giving us advice on where to go etc. nice comfortable accommodation, in a very peaceful part of the village. . . one of the main reasons we booked the stables was for the wi fi, as we had our son with us who lives in china. he needed to keep in touch for his work but were disappointed not to have it the whole of our stay. . overall we enjoyed our stay at the stables. Paul from Northants (10 February 2017)
Great thanks. It was our fifth visit there so we really like the stables. Jo from East Anglia (20 August 2016)
Beautiful cottage with the bonus of a fantastic tennis court so great for children. Other reviews I read stated that the living space was small but we found it all very spacious for 4 people. The kitchen was so well equipped, the tvs worked, bedrooms were lovely and very spacious, shower was excellent. Look forward to returning. Lovely area too. Emma from Oxford (12 August 2016)
Had a lovely time, the kids loved playing tennis & snooker. The property was very clean, well equipped & the owners were very friendly & welcoming. Confirmed Guest (03 June 2016)
Excellent location for visiting herefordshire, shropshire and walsh borders. Dorothy from Ashford Kent (09 April 2016)
Great location, very quiet and peaceful yet not too far off the beaten track. the one living area /dining/lounge /kitchen was a bit cramped with two of us so would be tight for four. Amanda from Cornwall (26 March 2016)
Excellent. Jo from Suffolk (29 October 2015)
Excellent property - couldn't fault it in any way. The extra facilities of tennis court and table tennis table were very welcome. There are some rackets and tennis balls available for a knock-about, but any serious players would probably be advised to bring their own equipment. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this property. Sandra from Cheshire (24 October 2015)
Lovely village and location - easy to access lots of nt properties, welsh borders and many other places of interest. . the only downside for us was the fact that the kitchen was also the dining room and sitting room, and it was a little squashed with all of it to fit in. The other thing was that one of the shower rooms was downstairs off the utility room - it would have been better if it could have been upstairs in a bedroom as an ensuite. Pam from Salisbury (17 October 2015)
Lovely and well-equipped cottage in both a very pretty village and a beautiful part of the country. Confirmed Guest (10 October 2015)
Great location for touring herefordshire and shropshire and in a beautiful setting with friendly hosts. John from Ashford (03 October 2015)
Beautiful cottage, lovely owners, the photo's do not do it justice! Emma from Ampthill (29 August 2015)
Very nice stay. Clean & tidy with a welcome bottle of local apple juice. . we made good use of the tennis court & table tennis. . nice and quite, liked the village with good food at the local pub. . good location for both hereford and across the border into wales Brian from Hemel Hempstead (15 August 2015)
What a spot for a relaxing week! the owners were so helpful and kept the grounds in perfect order. the tennis court was better than many sports centres would have! the cafe and shop in the village supplied all our local needs and the choice of places to visit and eat in the area were never ending. Roy from Ingbirchworth (20 June 2015)
Great base to visit historic properties in the area. If you are into this probably pays to get a national trust years subscription. We stayed in may but would probably do it all over again end june early july to get the benefits of the lovely gardens in this beautiful county. Stephen from Hexham (09 May 2015)
Tranquil cottage in lovely garden, located in a pretty village. Welcoming owners live next door. Two pubs in walking distance, one brewing own excellent beer. Good base for exploring the welsh marches, north herefordshire and south shropshire. . the cottage is well equipped, warm and cosy. There is little spare storage space downstairs for your own items, eg food, but plenty of storage upstairs. The snooker/dining table dominates the open-plan kitchen/living room, making it difficult to watch the tv when sitting on the sofa and requiring a cushion on each chair to reach the table when eating, due to its height. We had a problem with the wi-fi connection dropping out when we stayed, but we believe that this is being looked into. The wi-fi is on the slow side due to the rural location, if you need fast access to the internet whilst on holiday this is worth bearing in mind. Susan from Norwich (27 March 2015)
Our second stay at the stables. Excellent as before. we stayed with our son, his partner and our ten week old granddaughter. my only comment for families with children is that the layout downstairs isn't ideal for toddlers or young children as the dining/snooker table dominates the seating area and the tv is also a little difficult to see. Hilary from Chesterfield, Derbyshire (11 October 2014)
A good location from which to explore the border area of england and mid-wales, and in a delightful "black and white" village. property has a very friendly owner too. Edward from Wokingham (04 October 2014)
A lovely clean and comfortable cottage in a beautiful part of the country. great to have a tennis court, table tennis and mini snooker table on site all in an idyllic setting. Jacqui from Brussels (23 August 2014)
This is a very peaceful location with plenty to do at the cottage itself if the weather is bad. the cottage was lovely and very clean and comfortable. the owner was very welcoming too. I thoroughly recommend it. Confirmed Purchaser (05 May 2014)
A lovely well-equipped cottage, very peaceful. Could be improved by adding wi-fi. Suzanne from Wokingham (12 April 2014)
Lots of space in all rooms lovely grounds and well kept Peter from Faringdon Oxon (22 March 2014)
Excellent cottage! Brian from Potterne, Wilts (19 October 2013)
Fantastic setting with above average facilities .. tv reception could be better and wi fi needed. .. did not spoil the holiday though. would need better tv and wi fi for a return visit though. Steve from Totnes (10 August 2013)
Beautiful accommodation in a lovely village with a community shop, museum and lovely church. Very friendly owners. The stables had most things you would need and we enjoyed using the snooker table on rainy days. Although tennis courts are available to use you do need to have your own tennis shoes, we didn't so that was a bit of a disappointment for our son. We had use of the lovely large garden which was great. Judith from Kent (03 August 2013)
Welcome and ambience Sue from Southampton (16 March 2013)
Clean and cosy. Confirmed Purchaser (03 March 2013)
Quiet, pretty, warm, comfortable, snooker table, tennis court, views .. Customer 31 from Germany (19 October 2012)
Beautiful surroundings in a quiet and peaceful and friendly village. The barn is lovely and the owners made us very welcome and are on hand in case you require anything Jean from Halifax. West Yorkshire (15 September 2012)
Sports facilities, tennis court, table tennis, snooker table; nice cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and 2 showers; owners were nice and helpful, grounds and village are lovely, tea shop next door, easy to get to leominster and other places. Deborah from Dewsbury (25 August 2012)
It was a lovely property, beautifully comfortable bedrooms, relaly good facilities. However, the kitchen although reasonably equipped, was not as well equipped and tidied as expected. The toilet seat in the bathroom also kept falling down which was a hazard and bruised us a few times. This should really be fixed! Otherwise it was a fantastic cottage to visit and in a great location and wonderful facilities. We would love to go back. Customer 34 (August 2012)
All round brill Alastair from Desford (21 July 2012)
Friendly hosts. Property is in a quiet, but very attractive village, with easy routes to many interesting locations. Plenty of nice short local walks. Shop, pubs & restaurant in the village. It would be difficult to find fault! Customer 36 (May 2012)
The property overall was ideal for our needs. Customer 37 (May 2012)
The Stables" is a well-appointed hideaway in a very pretty village and well suited for anyone wanting a holiday in beautiful country. It is convenient for Hereford, Leominster and the Welsh Borders. Customer 38 (September 2011)
A very comfortable, clean, adequately equipped cottage set in a lovely garden. The owners live on site and are friendly and helpful. You have use of the tennis court and there is a large garage containing table tennis equipment. The dining table converts into a snooker table. The village is pretty, but you need to venture further afield if you have children or teenagers to keep entertained. Customer 39 (July 2011)
We loved The Stables; the picture in the brochure didn’t do it justice! Comfortable, light and airy; and very peaceful! The tennis court was brilliant (although sadly I don’t think we’re ready for Wimbledon just yet.....). Customer 40 (May 2011)
The Stables cottage was fantastic!! Surroundings were beautiful, with a huge garden. Cottage facilities were good too, very clean and cosy... We would recommend the Stag and Inn to eat out - their bread and butter pudding was to die for! Excellent food and service. The Riverside restaurant was lovely too - fab food! Unfortunatly the weather wasn’t as sunny as expected, that didnt stop us from enjoying our cottage break, would definatly stay at the Stables again - you need to book the accomodation for at least 3/4 days to appreciate it. Customer 41 (March 2011)
Beautiful location, peaceful and quiet. Close to local attractions, and community shop very convenient and friendly. Customer 42 (October 2010)
It had the most comfortable beds ever experienced in holiday accommodation. Customer 43 (October 2010)
The property is comfortable, clean and has everything we needed (although, 1 big and 1 small towel per week is too little). Customer 44 (July 2010)
Clean, comfortable, everything we needed, home from home. Customer 45 (July 2010)
Beautifully appointed-wonderful location- even teenagers were happy with the tennis court, small snooker table, and table tennis. Customer 46 (April 2010)
Excellent cottage. Clean, all mod cons and lots of extra facilities like tennis and table tennis. Customer 47 (November 2009)
Excellent leisure activities and equipment provided that we made good use of e.g. tennis court (racquets and balls provided) - full sized table tennis table with bats and balls - croquet lawn and equipment - and comfortable garden furniture. Customer 48 (October 2009)
The property is of the highest standard, very clean in a lovely setting with excellent helpful hosts. Customer 49 (July 2008)
Lovely peaceful property equipped to very high standard. The owner could not have been more helpful. Customer 50 (June 2007)
