My partner and I had a lovely stay in this well equiped cottage of which the owners, who live nearby, made us feel very welcome in every way. It was home from home! Michael from Leidschendam, Netherlands (04 August 2017)
Perfect stay . accommodation was very high standard, with warm welcome from the owners . perfect spot to explore the beauty of the north norfolk coast. Julie from Stafford (14 July 2017)
Lovely cottage, warm welcome from owners. lovely patio and garden, everything you could want is provided. Jan from Bushey (07 July 2017)
A well appointed and very pleasant cottage with good facilities, especially the kitchen. it was perfect for two people. however, a fan in the bathroom would be a useful addition. the owners gave us a very warm welcome and were most helpful. the cottage is in a quiet location which is well-situated for the coast (wells next the sea) and several historic houses. Richard from Enfield (30 June 2017)
The shepherds is ideally situated to explore the nn heritage coast. We enjoyed a fabulous week there, and the cottage has every creature comfort. Barry from Croydon, Surrey (02 June 2017)
Gorgeous cottage, small but so well equipped and comfy, beautiful garden with different areas from a sunny breakfast area in front of summerhouse to the terrace which caught the last of the sun for our evening sundowners. Convenient private parking, delightful village with plenty of places to visit. If you enjoy walking, lots of lovely walks nearby and only 5 miles from the coast. Margaret from Wellingborough (26 May 2017)
Everything we had hoped for, a delightful cottage in the most beautiful and tranquil setting. Everything you needed was provided, from bubble bath to a home baked cake waiting on arrival. . an excellent base from which to discover the amazing north norfolk coastal area. Allen from Salisbury (02 September 2016)

We had a lovely stay and the owners welcomed us to make sure we had everything we needed. This part of norfolk is wonderful. Nan from Bolton (09 October 2015)
Lovely cottage and in a beautiful spot. Not too far from all the tourist attractions. The cottage is exceptionally clean and you are greeted by the owner and a homemade cake and tea making facilities from his wife- just what you need after a long drive! there is however very little phone signal but this may be a blessing! Marie from Liverpool (18 September 2015)
Lovely cottage in a great location. Had everything you could possibly need. . only thing I would say is I think it would be a bit of a squash for 4 adults. Kay from Teesside (11 September 2015)
Over the past 40 years we have stayed in many cottages in norfolk. the shepherds is undoubtedly the best. very comfortable and with all modern conveniences. even electric blankets on the beds. we were welcomed with tea, coffee, milk and a lovely home made sponge cake (which didn't last long). would definitely recommend it. Gwynne from Nottinghamshire (04 September 2015)
Lovely, cosy, quaint cottage, well equipped. Amanda from Weston, Near Baldock (14 August 2015)
We adored this cottage, it had everything we needed. Very comfortable and very well equiped. Emma from Ilkley (07 August 2015)
There is nothing bad to write about at all with this cottage. It is outstanding in all areas. Yes the stairs are steep and somewhat narrow so this may be unsuitable for some people but it is a listed building so nothing can be done about that and to be honest we soon got used to it and were careful. . . the village is tiny and no more than a collection of houses, but that peace was what we wanted so it is quiet and relaxing. However it is no more than a fifteen minute walk into the next village which has a few nice pubs serving good food and a farm shop etc. . . the cottage is well located for seeing many parts of the area in about a half hour drive so a great location for those wishing to have a look around. It is about a ten minute drive to wells which is always busy and now even has a supermarket which proved very useful. There are some of the most beautiful beaches here, they are some of the best this country has to offer. So on a nice day it really is heaven. Wells has a great selection of places to eat and all were, in my opinion, reasonably priced. . the cottage itself is just lovely. It has its own parking and secret garden which was just perfect in the summer. It has all its own garden furniture and is an oasis of greenery. There is a further seating area outside the rear of the cottage where you are just surrounded by flowers and it was west facing so it got the evening sun. . inside, everything is provided that you could possibly need and more. The owners are charming and the home made cake was delightful. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in norfolk now having been to this cottage. Perfection! Rachel from Basildon (24 July 2015)
Very cosy cottage with a wonderful garden . Maureen from Sheffield (26 June 2015)
Excellent cottage cannot fault it Yvonne from Lincoln (19 June 2015)
We loved the shepherds, however the stairs are a real detractor especially for anyone with. Arthritis and the second bedroom was a bit too tight with a double bed in it. it would be better with a smaller bed and a wardrobe. this aside we had a lovely time and their hospitality with a gift of a wonderful cake at the start of our holiday made us feel very welcome. We feel that this property would be better suited for three people maximum. we could visualise it being too small for four people. Christine from East Yorkshire (12 June 2015)
Beautiful, quiet cottage. Very clean. Owners are very nice and after an initial walk through to explain the cottage 'workings' they appear just before you leave to pass over keys. The area is central for all activities in n norfolk. Eric from Glasgow (10 October 2014)
The cottage was beautiful, clean and tidy. the owners even took the trouble to bake a cake. Confirmed Purchaser (12 September 2014)
Excellent cottage in really good location. Nice little garden was a bit of a sun trap( when the sun shone!!). nice owners and delicious welcome cake. Ian from York (22 August 2014)
Beautiful cottage - lovely welcome from owners including home made cake and flower arrangement. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Jenny from Gt Walsingham (01 August 2014)
It was obvious the owners had actually given a great deal of thought to what makes a self-catering holiday enjoyable. usually there are small, but necessary 'things' that have been missed, and that can irritate, but not so in the shepherds. Graham from Halesworth (27 June 2014)
A nice cottage in a good location to explore north norfolk. The cottage was smaller than I expected from the photos and some of the ceilings are low (i'm 6'2 tall) but apart from that it was good. The owners have a good collection of info/guides/maps of the area which helped us find things to do. Martin from Sussex (23 May 2014)
A great base for the surrounding villages and coast. cottage was delightful, upkeep was good and garden well maintained. loved the idea of sitting in the garden during day and on the small terrace in front of the kitchen door in the evening. Angela from Braintree (09 May 2014)
Charming cottage with good modern facilities Graham from Southend-On-Sea (21 April 2014)
