Beautiful location with a fantastic view. The house was overpriced and not particularly clean, with several health and safety issues. We had a lovely holiday and portreath is a lovely village. David from Nuneaton (05 August 2017)
An excellent holiday let situated in a beautiful location overlooking the beach at portreath, which is easily reached via the cliff path. The house itself is beautifully furnished in a kelly hoppen style, perfect for its location by the beach. Do bear in mind though that large vehicles may struggle to turn around as the parking space is fairly tight for a 4x4. Other than that highly recommended. Penny from Bedfordshire (28 December 2016)
We made the massive mistake of believing there was wi-fi at the property. This caused major issues, it was akin to saying ''we dont have electricity'' - there was a wifi box in a cupboard, but when connected it did not work. . I am afraid whilst its a wonderful house, we are not able to go back. . also it was very creepy having probably 100+ photographs of the family covering almost every wall, it was like they were there watching us. Rjd from London (29 October 2016)
Road down to house could be improved, just about manageable at the moment.. we enjoyed the views.. regards . brian Brian from Banbury (08 October 2016)
We had a really great holiday and the property and location worked well for us, we only drove twice all week and just enjoyed portreath, it felt like the perfect hideaway and the sand house was lovely to return to after a day at the beach. Clare from Lewes (03 September 2016)
Booked the sand house for our last family holiday.we chose this property because on the website it looked something special.but unfortunately this was not the case.the bed's were uncomfortable in fact one bed was broken.and it was't that clean.property looked tired.the baby's cot was in a shocking state would 'nt let a animal sleep in it never mind a baby.this property is well over priced Carole from Nottingham (13 August 2016)
We had a very enjoyable holiday and loved the house . there were things which could be improved and for the price I think they should be. I would expect wifi in a house of this quality. The mattresses were not particularly good and cleanliness could be improved. There were an awful lot of pictures of the family. We did love the position, the house and used the beach a lot. Thanks to the owners or caretakers for a quick response to our hot water emergency. David from Barnwell (06 August 2016)
The sand house was just the ticket for our 3 generation seaside holiday. the setting is great, good access to the all important beach. the house is well equipped and very comfortable. white carpets gave us some anxiety, but there were no disasters. we would highly recommend this house. Judy from Birmingham (04 June 2016)
Fabulous property in a fabulous location. we had a superb holiday and with the bad weather, the warm and comforting house was a welcome spot to return to. My only gripe? please please please remove the white carpet from the kitchen!!! Sharon from Frampton-On-Severn (31 October 2015)
Positive : lovely property in a great location. It felt very homely and definitely had the wow factor. . negative : maintenance issues which are ok now but if left will become a problem ie a window catch is broken which means you cant close the window in the master bedroom. Beds need replacing as they are incredibly uncomfortable and you should advise customers before arrival of the unsightly building work right next door. Mike from Leicester (24 October 2015)
Fantastic view overlooking the beach! plenty of space inside the property for 6 adults and one infant and great outdoor space too. Would love to visit again Confirmed Guest (12 September 2015)
The cream carpet in the kitchen is a certain "no, no". the shower in the single bedroom was broken. Sara from London (08 August 2015)
Amazing house, wonderful location. The all white carpets - extending into the kitchen - meant that cooking was impossible, and all meals had to be eaten outside, but apart from this it was an outstanding holiday, a really amazing house and perfect for kids. Sophie from London (30 May 2015)
A lovely and amazing place. Sea views were great. And the sand house was real fun to live in. My kids loved it. Ameen from London (21 February 2015)
What an amazing location and house. The views are breath taking and eating up on the top balcony was heaven. You'd pay a lot of money to eat in a restaurant with views like this. The lounge also has great views with loads of light. We were puzzled by the white carpet in lounge going into the kitchen. Cooking with white carpet around was a bit nervy. We'd replace them with white washed floorboards - it would enable the place to be kept cleaner and the room would look bigger. . we could also have done with a bigger fridge as it was a bit small for 7 people eating there all week. . we had an fabulous week as portreath beach is lovely with hidden caves and beach on the left when the tide is out. We will definitely we returning to this part of cornwall. Russell from Lamberhurst (06 September 2014)
A very relaxing holiday in a perfect position,,,, wifi would have been an advantage!! Claire from Essex (30 August 2014)
Great location, but dirty and overpriced. Lesley from Halifax (26 July 2014)
A beautiful house in a great spot overlooking portreath beach. Very happy with the facilities and more than enough space for the 5 of us. Conscious of not marking the white carpet throughout the house though! suggest a hairdryer and tea towels to be provided. Otherwise very good and we would stay again. Really nice to see family photos around the house too. Thanks for a lovely week. Catherine from Zurich (05 July 2014)
Beautiful house, but not much going on in portreath, lack of places to eat. Annabelle from Timperley (31 May 2014)
Beautiful house but very much let down by the 'welcome pack'. described as 'bag of goodies to help you settle in' - we were disappointed to find only a bottle, pack of biscuits and bag of crisps - no good for keeping us going after a very long drive before finding a supermarket the next day. a search of the bathrooms (3 total) only found 1/2 roll toilet paper - no use for 6 people! there were also no washing up items (no powder for dishwasher or washing up liquid for sink - we finally found 2 grubby teatowels and very grubby oven mitts in the bottom of a drawer). having stayed at a number of properties we felt this really let the sand house down - most provide at least the above mentioned toilet paper and cleaning equipment alongside some basics like eggs, milk, bread - sometimes even jam, cheese etc. with the type of property and the price better stocking is what is expected Sarah from Macclesfield (22 September 2013)
Excellent location with panoramic view of the beach. Spacious and well equipped. Recommended Gollogly (20 Jul 2013)
