A lovely old character cottage, set in a beautiful, scenic and quiet valley with view of the sea. added bonus of a hot tub and garden. hosts were friendly and helpful. not far from coastal footpath. Jill from Rugby (15 July 2017)
One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. At first the work shed next to the cottage made it seem like a forgotten "hideaway" but we soon warmed to the location and our genial hosts phil and gill. The weather helped greatly. It was so warm we looked for the cool interior of the stone-flagged floored lounge on a few occasions! the gardens were superb and our dog bertie loved chasing rabbits in and around the bushes. We relaxed in the hot tub and cooked barbecued meals to eat at the garden table under the umbrella. We travelled around the island for the first few days then visited ventnor, shanklin and sandown which were very easy to get to with a very short car ride. Gill's cakes kept our energy going. The kitchen was very well equipped with tea, coffee etc as well as such things as washing up liquid, washing powder, dishwasher tablets and towels. On our arrival we had tea and cakes on the lawn and found a welcome note in the cottage alongside a bottle of merlot. We also had an unexpected surprise when our hosts offered an extra week for free as the cottage had not been booked! we stayed an extra 3 days and sadly left all too early due to commitments at home. We can't thank our hosts enough for their hospitality and would wholeheartedly recommend this cottage to anyone. David from Chesterfield (24 June 2017)
Had a lovely comfortable stay at this property, the owners were very friendly and offered us tea and cake on arrival one big plus was their hot tub ,i would thoroughly recommend this property. Kerrie from Hythe Kent (10 June 2017)

In a lovely quiet location with sea views, a pleasant well maintained garden with a hot tub. Close to the coastal footpath. The cottage was very comfortable well maintained and well equiped. The hosts phil and gill made us very welcome. Vincent from Market Deeping (15 April 2017)
We had a great week at the hideaway. The cottage was very well equipped, clean and cosy. Phillp and gill were lovely hosts greeting us with tea and home made cakes. They were very tolerant of our inquisitive black lab!. the hot tub was lovely even on cool evenings. . the location is great on the south coast of the island with nowhere very far way. . plenty of local walks. It's only 5 minutes walk down to the coastal path and the highest point on iow is just up from the cottage. . wifi available but best reception sitting at the top of the stairs or in the bathroom! Bridget from Chesterfield (01 April 2017)
We have just come back from staying at the hideaway and can honestly say we didn't want to leave. Jill and philip were lovely greeting us with tea and cake in the lawn. The cottage was gorgeous and the location just perfect. We will definitely be back. My children loved playing in the garden with cassie the dog and we were always asked how our day had been. Jill and philip you have a beautiful home and the hideaway is just wonderful xx emma, steve, harry and maisie xx Emma from Rochester (27 August 2016)

Very welcoming and homely cottage and owners, great to have use of hot tub and the gardens with the sea view. Easy access to the rest of the island . Suzie from Birmingham (30 May 2015)
Location was nice but a little off the track however we enjoyed it very much. The cottage was a lovely farm type with old fashioned doors and very old flooring . the owners were very friendly and her cake was just fab. The hot tub was a real asset I was in every day.the only problem for us is the traveling time from cleethorpes and our friends came from the north east. It is a loverly place to stay if the weather is good but well done to the owners. Barry from Cleethorpes (09 May 2015)
Very nice place to stay, the owners met us at the door and made us extremely welcome. A cream tea on the lawn was unexpected and delightful. The dog was the friendliest and best behaved we have ever met, and waited outside our door with a stick each morning. Stephen from Wiltshire (18 April 2015)

Wine & cake on arrival. Very friendly & playful collie-cross living on site. Imperative visitor likes dogs. Ray from St Albans (07 July 2012)
A lovely peaceful location far from the madding crowd! The host & hostess Mr & Mrs Kennerly were so welcoming - very kind couple indeed. Obviously sunshine helps to keep everyone warmer including the cottage which on our one and only wet morning did seem cooler. We did enjoy the garden too which we had access to. I recommend this property for those who do not want to be in the noisier location of a town. Customer 36 (July 2011)
Beautiful location and a fantastic welcome from the hosts! Very well located for beach, countryside and main roads for rest of island visits! We booked to go back as soon as we got home! Customer 37 (June 2011)
Very comfortable and property of character - owners were very welcoming. Just outside built up areas, so quiet but easy to get to places. Customer 38 (June 2011)
’The Hideaway’ was even nicer than we expected! it is in a really tranquil setting & although it is rural, it’s just a pleasant walk along the coastal path or only a few minutes drive to Shanklin. It’s a well equipped & comfortable cottage and one we’d highly recommend and would definitely be happy to return to. They also have the most delightful playful little dog too that our girls fell in love with. Customer 39 (May 2011)
Good view. Nice people. Well placed. Children loved it. Great garden. Customer 41 (August 2010)
