Beautiful cottage with a lovely view. The most well equipped cottage we've stayed at in the u.k. very clean with every amenity you can think of. Pool table and an assortment of games. Suitable for all seasons. Utterly modern but with a rural and cosy quirkiness. Alison from Wetherby (07 August 2017)
Lovely accommodation. easy drive to fantastic scenary and interesting towns. Lynne from Wivenhoe (23 June 2017)
Beautiful cottage, very modern and spacious. excellent location for walks. our car didn't move from the car park all weekend!. excellent gym facilities and sauna. Customer 3 from Nottinghamshire (11 June 2017)
We spent a brilliant week in the granary, it was beautifully clean and comfortable. We spent our days walking in the peak district and local areas and cycling. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We had a warm welcome and the owner also took our three boys on his quad bike around the farm which was great. Sadie from Stourbridge (02 June 2017)
Amazing holiday cottage, great rooms, fantastic kitchen with everything you need, we were a group of 8 adults and cooked a full 3 course meal without issue one night. a little games room with pool table and xbox, table tennis, board games, so lots to keep you entertained in the cottage. . we had a fab short break. Mrs Wright (01 May 2017)
A terrible journey was made worthwhile when we arrived at the granary. We spent a weekend with my family (and border terrier) to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. It was a perfect choice. It is a lovely property with good facilities made more special by a few extra touches. Particularly enjoyed the pool table. Location is good for walking which was important with the dog. Highly recommended. Ken from Surbiton (27 March 2017)
Our second time at the granary and again found it hard to leave. perfectly suited as a country escape with stunning views over the fields in a very well presented and extremely clean cottage. Carl from Ipswich (10 March 2017)
Great find & wonderful place. Strongly recommended. Jeremy from Coventry (05 March 2017)
We really enjoyed our long weekend with the family and thought the accommodation was fabulous. Only the weather stopped it from being perfect. Jackie from Leicester (27 February 2017)
A hot tub would be good Trish from Castleford (06 February 2017)
We had a lovely time here. The house was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. plenty of games and a pool table made it easy to entertain teenagers and young children. Caroline from Warrington (16 January 2017)
Very clean well equipped and well run. Rosie from Sutton Coldfield (13 January 2017)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the granary. It is lovely and spacious, great for a large group. Our kids loved the games room and the view is gorgeous. The well equipped gym was a huge bonus. . . the only downsides for us were there is no local shop in the village and the walk to the pub wasn't safe after dark on the single track country lane. Beth from Dubai (28 December 2016)
An excellent holiday home with every need catered for for a large group or family party. Jill from Kendal (05 December 2016)
Thank you for a wonderful stay! we were a group of 8 and the granary was perfect for us. Plenty of space and everything we needed. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. Beautiful walks nearby. Perfect! Caroline from Bristol (27 November 2016)
We had a fabulous time at this beautiful cottage for my mum's 60th getaway. the pictures did not do the size of this place justice. every room was much bigger than we had imagined and it was just lovely. . . the cottage was comfortable, very cosy and has been decorated really well. every one of us was so pleased that we were staying there for the weekend. it definately had a luxury feel to it. just a shame our stay wasn't for longer! it was comfortable, had everything we seemed to need, and the owners (who also live in the grounds) were not at all intrusive but very helpful if you did need anything. lovely people and we would definately go here again. . . location is quite remote in that we felt we couldn't walk down to the village pub for dinner due to the country roads being very dark and unlit of an evening so we wouldn't have felt safe doing so with our little ones. just part and parcel of staying somewhere like this so not a negative, just something to consider depending on what you are looking for. . speaking of the village pub, we ate at the duncomb arms and it was fabulous. . great weekend break, beautiful cottage, stunning views and great owners. Jackie from Hoddesdon (30 October 2016)
We had a lovely holiday at the granary where the hosts were very accommodating. however some friends of ours slept in their van outside the house after being unable to find a campsite. We wrongly assumed this would be ok due to how laid back the owners had been. We realized this was our mistake and apologized when we realized they were unhappy. however after this happened the remainder of our holiday was uncomfortable. one of the owners was away and instead of speaking calmly with the remaining owner we were made to drive to find a mobile signal in order to ring the other owner in london. The owner who remained then refused to answer the door to us and sent out her son to talk to us instead. whilst we understand we had made a mistake we were not impressed by the unprofessional attidute of the owner after the issue had been resolved. the owner also insinuated that we were the type of people who would leave the house in a mess when the opposite is true and our final few days were not relaxing with the owners staying next door. the house itself is lovely though and we would go again had it not been for the atmosphere experienced. Brilliant. Lovely place, beautiful surroundings would definatly go back. Well recommended Emma from Letchworth (16 October 2016)
Limited local amenities didn't matter to us because we wanted a "self-contained" break. The granary was perfect for what we wanted. We were all very pleasantly surprised by how well kitted out the gym was, and the sauna was a great extra. The organisation from james and catriona was excellent and the welcome felt warm and genuine. The comfort and finish in the cottage was first class and the games room another real bonus. My group will definitely return and I would recommend the granary to anyone..we had a fantastic time in our annual get together. Robin from St Andrews (02 October 2016)
Fantastic, well planned, very comfortable and extremely well thought out cottage. Great for a family group. Lovely, lovely owners and use of the amazing gym too - and the cottage games room is a lovely added bonus. Great pub in the village and great attractions and cycle trails nearby. Highly recommended. Sharon from Maidenhead (26 September 2016)
The granary is an excellent place. It's highly equipped and is comfortable in every regard. The owners made every effort to make us feel welcome. I'd recommend this place to anyone Andrew from Lytham (04 September 2016)
A terrific base from which to explore the peak district. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms and very spacious. The only potential improvements would be a tumble drier and a few more bits of crockery. spotlessly clean and very welcoming owners. lots of entertainment with the games room ant netflix. Peter from Bromley (12 August 2016)

Me and my family had an amazing stay at the granary, when we arrived the property was in immaculate condition and even things such as crockery and cooking equipment was top end brands. the owners even placed a small selection of toiletries to use. the owners let there presence known but did not intrude in our stay so all in all massively satisfied with my stay would no doubt return. Carl from Ipswich (26 February 2016)
Very nice place and clean, would highly recommended this cottage Shazad from Coventry (21 February 2016)
A warm, comfortable and beautiful home with lovely views. if you stay here you will not want to come home!! Jackie from Grimsby (19 February 2016)
Lovely house, perfect size for our group (including a 3-month old baby). the owners were very friendly and helpful - calling me the week before to check our requirements. we could have done with more kitchen equipment - not really enough to cook for a group, we would consider taking some large ovenproof dishes next time, along with foil and cling film which are usually provided in other houses we have rented. also, only 'just enough' plates and bowls so everything had to go in to the dishwasher after every meal and we had nothing spare to keep leftovers in. although we were very happy to stay in for the weekend, we were pleased that there was a great local pub serving delicious food, just a short walk away. the only other thing that was missing was a hot tub! Anisha from Reading (08 February 2016)
Stayed here with friends and the cottage was lovely and had been renovated to a high standard. Lots of walks nearby and a short walk to a really nice pub. Would definitely recommend. Holly (31 January 2016)

Fantastic cottage. These owners really have thought of everything. Look forward to staying here again Confirmed Guest (08 November 2015)
Owners were lovely and very helpful. They had left some very useful basics to get us started. The house itself was very comfortable and spacious, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. The setting was beautiful, with plenty of walking on the doorstep and about 10 mins from ashbourne for nearest shops. Highly recommend. Holly from Essex (31 October 2015)
