Really nice accommodation, very peaceful location. Perfect for a short break, coast and country within easy reach. Steve from Hemel Hempstead (23 June 2017)
We had a lovely stay at the bothy (june 2017) having made a last minute booking when the rain finally decided to stop. The accommodation itself exceeded our expectations. It's small but spacious, light, airy, clean and modern - all the things I look for in a holiday let. It's ideal for a couple with a car or bikes. . . we arrived by train and walked down via the roads for 3 hours to get there. It wasn't difficult as norfolk is very flat. Our return journey via the weaver's way was far more scenic. It took 4.5 hours but it's worth spending an entire day on an amble. . . . additional highlights. . courtyard garden and summer house. Nice pubs nearby (most close between lunch and dinner). the walpole arms has a nice garden and good menu for meat eaters. Turn right out of the bothy and continue until you get to the gates of a large hall with gardens. Look left and there is it. We had a lovely vegetarian meal at the erpingham arms. . lots of wildlife. Very private - the bothy is sandwiched between puddle barn holiday let and the owner's farm but you're not overlooked by either. . very untouristy. Susan from Sheffield (16 June 2017)
Comfortable and light, nicely decorated. Spaciouse for its size. Can be noisy above the bedroom from the other barn. lovely private courtyard.would be lovely and warm in colder months. Great central location. Janine from London (08 June 2017)
This is a lovely place to be if you want peace and quiet. However with cromer, sheringham, cley next to sea, blackney, wells next to sea and many places of interest, all within an easy 20 - 40 minute drive, there is plenty to do and that keeps young and old entertained.the town of holt with a budgens supermarket pubs restaurants banks etc is only 15 minutes away again an easy drive you don't have traffic issues getting anywhere. This is the 2nd visit to this area and will be making a 3rd hopefully the same cottage. Tony from Southend On Sea (19 May 2017)
The perfect antidote to life in the city , tranquil , pleasant local walks Steven from Manchester (14 May 2017)
Loved the location and tranquility of the bothy. Didn't see a soul for the duration of the stay! lovely place to recharge your batteries. The log burner was an added bonus. Anne &Amp; John from Nottinghamshire (18 March 2017)
Great cottage for a couple exploring north norfolk - with wood fire, warm even in winter Richard from Chelmsford (03 March 2017)
Superb location . lovely people . great surroundings. Great for some serious r&r Antony from Clacton On Sea (15 February 2017)
A very peaceful location, a real hide-away cottage. loved the roll top bath and the open plan living area. although not right on the coast we found it central to all locations that we wished to visit. Norwich (45 mins), cromer (20 mins), wells-next-the sea (40 mins), holkham beach (45 mins). Zebrina from Storrington (09 September 2016)
We loved the peaceful setting and garden Jenny from Kent (12 August 2016)
Lovely cottage would certainly recommend it. A bit isolated but for us this didn't matter. Pearce from Thurcaston Leics (08 July 2016)
We had a lovely time here. Just 3 points. No freezer, not even freezer compartment in fridge, no cleaning materials, and could do with thicker curtains in the bedroom. We had to rig up something with car rugs and towels to stop the light waking us up at 4:00am. Otherwise a nice quiet cottage with pretty yard area to sit out in and not too far from interesting towns and houses to visit Ruth from Cardiff (17 June 2016)
Very airy, spacious, open and comfortable. good value for money; would certainly recommend it. Be aware that the location is a bit remote, but it's still only 10 minutes to holt / 15 minutes to cromer. however, it's very quiet and there's the chance to see local wildlife (owls hunting and deer) in the field opposite the entrance. Mark from Cheltenham (10 June 2016)
The bothy was a lovely place to stay ,very cozy and warm and quite spacious. Nice furnishings too and an attractive bathroom, ideal for a couple. Location was good set down a country lane which was lovely and quiet, but easy reach to north coast . Martin from Fleet (15 April 2016)
A beautiful place to stay, so tranquil it was exactly what I needed. it was obvious a dog had stayed before as there were some dog hairs on the crockery and draining board but this did not distract from my stay. These just need to checked and cleaned before the next visitors arrive. I would still recommend as I had a wonderful stay. Julia from Elmstead Market (03 October 2015)
The bothy was great but not well equipped. The fridge had no ice tray and there was very little cooking equipment if you wanted to cook a meal. Also there were no outdoor seats other than those in the summer house . the shower was not very powerful either Joanne from Crewe (27 June 2015)
We were dissaponted when we arrived after a long journey. although the bothy looked nice there were no instructions on how to use the tv (it took us ages to get it to work) or the cooker. the mattress on the bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the shower was useless as the water literally dribbled from just a couple of holes in the showerhead. on the second day we had no hot water at all. usually cottage owners leave information on the local area, what to see and where to eat but there was nothing here. I feel we paid a lot of money for a very basic holiday home. Teresa from Havant (30 May 2015)
